- I have a love hate relationship with Charlotte Tilbury Products...I think some of them are unbelievable, but others don't sit well on my over 40 skin. I also don't have much luck with any bronzers, many of which are far too warm and orange on my skin, so this might not go well. Wish me luck.

My skin type is combi/dry most of the month, but when hormonal, my skin gets very oily around my t-zone. It's very unpredictable (thanks skin) and I suffer from breakouts (mostly hormonal breakouts...thanks again hormones!)

Word of warning if you are very pale and cool-toned: Everything Charlotte Tilbury makes pulls orange on me. The lightest in the Airbrush powder is still a hair too dark for me, and is slightly too warm, even though it is not supposed to show. I own a lot of her lipsticks but all of her lipsticks that she calls "pink" actually look peach on me, and the ones she calls "cool" are not cool at all but are neutral to warm on me. This bronzer will be a pass for me.
Yes her lipsticks all pull orange on me too. I’ll be passing on her bronzers too.
I agree about the lipsticks pulling orange, but that’s definitely not the case with the Airbrush bronzer! My skin is super pale and I love the lightest shade of that bronzer. The physician’s formula one is way too orange, but this one from Charlotte is the best I’ve tried for pale skin! To each their own though.

Really helpful to see this review on your pale skin as I am pale too. Helpful to know neither are cool toned as they are not for me and you are right that the one in between would be ideal for you.

Thanks for this review Gemma! I’ve also been deliberating over these two colours, and having seen your review I think I’m also bang in the middle! I was surprised how pale the fair colour one was and am also thinking the medium might be too much on my fair skin tone. I shall try and resist purchasing until I can get to a store and try out in person, and will stick with my fave Filmstar bronze and glow until then! X

I purchased the CT bronzer and I do love it! It was hard to decide if I wanted the med or tan so I got them both and trying to decide if I should return the tan but summer has just started. I do love the way they blend! Thanks 😊

I got this in medium and tan and love mixing them I like that you can get refills. Hourglass is still my favorite bronzer but I love having a good matte bronzer in my collection.
Hi Gemma you are looking wonderful and eyebrows are fab. I've still yet to dip my toes into Charlotte Tilburg products, however I think I could be persuaded to invest in the bronzer as it is also refillable which is just fantastic. Xx

I hate most bronzers but I just LOVE CTs. It's a huge compact, I'll never use it all. Its gorgeous on my skin. Love it♥️♥️👍
Hi Gemma, thanks for your review. I've got it in a medium and actually I do really like it. Yes it is a bit pricey but it will last me for a long time. I am also glad CT will introduce a refills for it this summer so hope it will be cheaper as you don't need to buy a case again. I'm really glad I watched this as I have recently bought the lightest shade and was worried it was far too light and thought about trying to exchange for the medium but looking at the difference, the medium would definitely be too dark and red toned. If it makes you feel better I would be the 1.5 shade too! Typical!
The lightest shade just looks like a regular powder, not a bronzer, however you're right, the other shade is a little ruddy at least on you! Love love City Bronzer!!
I think I'll stick to my Butter Bronzer from the drugstore, way to much for a bronzer to me. Thanks for the update!
Well that was interesting. First time I've seen the lighter shade v the medium & I really don't know if I like either of those. I'm as pale as you & you can def see the lighter shade is maybe too yellowy & the medium is way too dark for me. I'd heard there was too much difference between the shades & I now think I agree. There needs to be more in-between shades. Thank you for this 👌
Thank you for your investment! You help us tremendously buy sharing these shades. As a pale/ghost skinned older woman, I haven't found a better shade bronzer/contour for my skin color than the Maybelline City Bronzer in 100.❤
Those Maybelline bronzers are truly beautiful for what they are. I have bought both nars and bobbi Brown and i adore the undertone and quality of the Maybelline bronzers. I use 200 for the yellow undertone and i can use it year round. I think what happens is we get a craving for something possibly better but if it works- it works!

I would LOVE a light shade. I bought the fair and like it but it is a bit too light in summer.

I got the Fair 1, and am very happy I did. I'm still in my winter shade (I usually am most of the year), but I would really like your 1.5 for when I need a refill for my compact. I find it builds well and if I can't have a cool undertone, the yellow is better than orange or red on my skin. It also is amazing for blending out contours or deeper shades. But since I am SO into blush at the moment, this is an excellent fit. But Charlotte, could I have a 1.5 please?
I really need a cool toned bronzer. Warm toned bronzers tend to look dirty on my pale skin. You recommended Maybelline’s City Bronzer in a video last summer and it is perfect for my pale skin.
not sure if anyone will still see this comment after all this time but i feel like the Essence sun club matt bronzing powder in the shade “lighter skin” might be in between the CT fair and medium. i use CT medium in summer and the essence one in winter.
also, here’s a little hack: the essence one (which is a solid product, cheap as chips but comes in flimsy ugly packaging) can be depotted and it fits the empty charlotte tilbury compact like a glove 😇
If someone is in trouble deciding wich shade to purchase, he/she could buy one shade with the case and the other shade in refill, when they will launch them 😍💓
I do love charlottes products but have had some fails tbh same with fenty. I’m looking to buy the medium after watching your vid. I wish you would get more in PR because you are very informative Sort delayed watching all my faves just catching up
Great video Gemma. I’m with you in that I love some CT products but not impressed by others. I’d love it if you would do a review of some cream bronzers (different price points and matte as well as sparkling). Also how do you rate the latest formula of Channel Soliel Tan Bronzer (and what is the fragrance like as overly fragrances cosmetics give me migraine 😢). Thanks for the nice and informative video!👍🤩🤩 I know what you mean with more shades! I think for people with a deeper complexion, 1 or 2 shades Charlotte please between shade 3 and 4. I am light to very little bit medium in winter and light to medium in summer, with red undertones, so in the summer Charlotte's lighter palette of the Filmstar Bronze and Glow is a bit to light for me, so I recently bought that one for deeper complexions, not that deep, and a very neutral colour in the summer for a bronzer, really good!👍 But it's also what people expect from a bronzer I think, I don't want an unnatural face, but yes I want colour!!! Anyway, I bought shade medium of Charlotte's new Airbrush bronzer too: the stuff: it's amazing good of course, but the colour: is ok on me, comme ci comme ca I would say; I love my Tom Ford Terra much more in summer, as well as my Nars liquid bronzer in laguna I must say. I also love that bronzers are not to warm, not to orange. This one is not, but it is also not my favorite colour, and I guess shade 3 is to deep, even in summer for me. Interesting to see shade nr. 1 here on UA-cam, only saw that once! I like shade nr. 2 much more on your skintone if I may be honest? Thanks a lot for the nice video, and indeed more shades, also between 1 and 2, are needed. Maybe between all shades. I would like to see such a perfect product in at least 8 to 10 colours!!! Hey Charlotte, if you're listening - how about remembering those of us that are cool toned! I don't she has anything for people as pale as I am, with blue eyes. Good review - I'll stick with the Maybelline!
She has the cool toned bronzer in the duo with the highlight. I think that's part of why she decided on warmer tones. Plus bronzer is technically supposed to be warmer because it's meant to look sunkissed. I'm fair to light in tone and love the medium one on myself!
Kelly Oliveira for me, and my very pale skin, I find her colors to be much too warm for my liking. I actually don’t use bronzer, so not a problem. Her eyeshadows/blushes/lipsticks are all too warmed toned for me. Glad you’ve found a color that works for you.
Don’t you hate that! I love this bronzer so much but can only pull it off with a spray tan 😭 do you like the fenty Inda sun? That is for me a lighter cooler tone that I use for winter when I am white as ghost. 1n reference. Which maybelline do you suggest ?

I love the formula but the medium shade (I’m fair/light) doesn’t look great on me. I have the flawless finish powder in Fair, but I have a sample of the medium shade and wonder how close it is to the light bronzer. Any idea?

Hi there. I know you recently tried CHANTECAILLE future skin and kinda liked it but if you're looking for a slightly cool toned bronzer you should give their ST. BARTHS a try. It's great for fair, light and probably medium complexions. It's up there a little on price but I love it
My problem is I have freckles and when I go pale my freckles don't show up when I go dark my freckles pop so for I bough the medium shade bronzer like you did my skin is two toned like my foundation is pale so you can't see my freckles at all when I apply the medium bronzer it worked for my freckles. So I don't know which one to pick for bronzer when you have freckles on your face. It's to hard for me to figure this out maybe someone can help me with this. Thanks.

I know you always do your brows off camera, but they’re stunning! Could you thrown that in for a minute or two?
I could use a lighter one so a .5 for my winter and the 1.0 light which i bought as my summer lol. I am see through all year lol. But i am glad I didn’t get the medium as looking on line I thought the light maybe too light but as looking on a computer it always seems lighter than it is. I am glad its refillable so if she makes a lighter i can get that later.
The Maybelline City Bronzer is my favorite at the moment. I've been using shade 100 year round and apply just a bit more during the summer. :) CT is beautiful but definitely out of my budget.

I really, really like the Milani Silk bronzer. Great shades and cool tones (and matte)! That said, the Maybelline Fit Me range is great too.

Both a bit yellow/grubby looking. I use Benefit Hula ( i usually manage to get one free with a magazine 😀) . I also used to like Boots Natural Collection bronzing beads, but they are messy.

If you like a cooler tone in blush, the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar bronze and glow leans cooler. (the bronze part) Also, once you purchase the C.T. bronzer you can buy refills which are $16.00 less. Much better, still luxury, but I love Charlotte Tilbury products! 😻❤️🥰

I didn't apply it to areas of my skin that needed airbrushing to be honest. It's very smoothing though xxx

As a cool toned person I wouldn’t use them as they are too yellow and too red, I use the Maybelline cool toned one which I saw you use and it’s just right for me. The price of the Charlotte tilbury one is too much for me anyway. 😊

I was thinking of get the medium but it looks to orange for me I love a bronzed look but I’m neutral tone and there isn’t many brands that do neutral bronzer so I’d rather get a cooler one thank you Gemma xx
I'm neutral too and completely agree that these are a little too yellowy and ruddy. It's such a shame because the formula is ace xxx
You should try mixing them I bet it will be a great tone for you
I have CT airbrushed powder and yes it's a lovely finely milled texture.. But... It soon hits pan! Even using it very sparingly, it does seem to use up very quickly. So... The bronzer may be in a large pan, but if you need to build it up (which you don't with the normal powder), then it won't actually last long, despite the amount of product.

I heard on another influencer site that these beautiful compacts are to be refillable. The refills have not actually come out yet, but there's supposed to be a small hole somewhere in the bottom that allows you to remove a used pan and put a refill in, instead of buying a whole brand new compact for £39 !!! x

Asbestos is sometimes found in even talc that claims to be asbestos free. Asbestos obviously isn't good. The cosmetics industry is doing all they can to eliminate asbestos in their cosmetically graded talc, however this is sometimes harder said than done xxx

I'm looking to purchase new quality brushes. Would you recommend that Raphr brush? If so what number is it?
Just purchase a Wayne Goss brush for my blush and two Raphr brushes for my eyes. The eye brushes came in two days ago I have only used #16 and can't believe how easy and well blended my eye shadow goes on. I also have the #12 , but haven't used it yet.
I definitely recommend the Rephr brushes. I used the no5 brush for the bronzer. xxx

The lightest shade gave the most natural look, but the medium would work better if you have some tan. I would have to have the lightest. :(
So if it is the same formulation as the airbrush flawless mattifying face powder, do you think it would be better value for money to buy the fairest shade of this and just use it as a setting powder (I am a light-medium skin tone with yellow undertones)

I like the Filmstar Bronze and Glow-it’s cooler. It seems like she leans toward yellow. The airbrush foundation in neutral is really yellow. Grrrr.
Did you trying mixing the two bronzers on your brush? may be will give you the “ light” color you want

Hi Gemma, I love all your reviews on everything. They are so helpful to us. And you apply your makeup so beautifully. My only concern is that I think you applied just a tad too much bronzer to your forehead. Many times your forehead looks brownish or too disconnected to the rest of your face. I know you like that sunkissed look and it does look that way. However, it seems a little too much sometimes. It could be just the camera but I've noticed more and more it looks like you're applying just a little too much on your forehead. Please don't take that as a bad criticism please. I know everybody's going to have a fit that I said that I'm sure. still love watching all your reviews and I think you do a fabulous job. Miss your mom a lot too.
You're entitled to your opinion Robin. Thank you for your comment. Makeup is personal. I personally like the way I do it usually, but in this video I was testing out bronzers, seeing if they would build, seeing how they blend, and showing the difference in colours, so in this video I probably applied more than usual. Again it's personal, but I’ll take your comments on board. xxx

Humn, you’d like a 1.5 color. You have the 1 & 2 so used together that’s 1.5😛.
Blending two it’s not 4 pounds anymore but 8 pounds. You may have what you like. This happens with several cosmetics and I think by design. Think of lipsticks - pencils, lip color, gloss. I’ll go take my paranoia meds now..
Unfortunately because they are different undertones, one is red and one is yellow, when blended together they look a little muddy xxx

This is actually great value for money when you look at other premium priced bronzers. These also have refills so you don't have to buy the packaging more than once xxx
Pampered Wolf I promise I’m not just trying to be a snot for the sake of it... I’m not usually drawn to products because they are refillable. It’s a great idea and better for the environment. But as quickly as companies cycle through makeup products and discontinue things, in the - literally - years it would take me to use up a bronzer that big, there’s no guarantee that the company would still be offering the refills. Just my 2 cents... I’ll stick to my No7 bronzer for now. 💕
