  • Today’s guest is William Shatner! Known for his iconic role as Captain Kirk in Star Trek: The Original Series, William is an actor, author, producer, director, screenwriter, and singer. His newest album, “BILL,” is releasing 9/24.
Ben and William collaborated on the album “Has Been,” released in 2004.
In this episode, we talk about what separates an amateur from a professional (even if an amateur is more talented), saying you could have done something versus actually doing it, horseback riding, and transforming hardship into creativity. This conversation was a lot of fun so take a listen to our conversation with the one the only Mr. William Shatner.
You can submit your questions to Ben here: www.speakpipe....

How are there only 76 likes on this. What an amazing chat. Has Been is one of my all time favourite albums, and it opened up my knowledge of Ben Folds, i looked you up after the album and have since been to many of your gigs. Please do more chats! Best, Niall in Melbourne ☘️🤘

I love the story from your book about "Benny what IS cool?" and honestly it has made me think twice before I label something as cool. Lightning Bugs is the first book I've read cover-to-cover in over 10 years but I couldn't step away from learning from your experience and what's behind the lyrics I memorized decades ago.

Ben, you should have content creator Jacksfilms on your podcast. He’s a big fan of yours, he’s very funny and he’s an influential figure who I’m sure would love to come on!

I love when Shatner killed the untalented hosts of reality performance shows, when Ben was one of those.
