I feel the same. Every night, I read Goodnight Stories for Rebel Girls to my toddler, and when I read the birth and death dates, I think of my mom. She passed away a little over a year ago at the age of 61 from liver cancer. Of course, not all the people in the book live as long as her either, but it just serves as a reminder to live each day to the fullest and do what brings us joy and fulfillment. I used to jokingly argue with my mom about her Hogwarts house because she said she was a Gryffindor, but I thought she was more of a Hufflepuff. Shatner is the youngest looking 93 year old I've ever seen. If you compare to other celebrities of the same age who are still alive, the difference is huge.
He beat Patrick Stewart on this factor big time. Stewart is 10 years younger and is a sad sight on camera you just don't even want to watch it as it hurts you emotionally seeing it.
When I’m 93 I want to be able to just walk out on stage without any help, sit down, and joke about my lowest point while talking about the time I went to space! He’s a national treasure (albeit a Canadian one)
and his speech isn't slurred at all. compare that to many _youngster octogenarians_ or some septuagenarians. this man has been amazing for a long time but at this age he is even more amazing. God bless him and people like David Attenborough (97). 🖖
"It was ...fun!" ❤ These words will make history, when he leaves us for his next adventure. That scene gutted me far more than "I have been and always shall be your friend" . The most relatable and authentic death I have ever seen on screen - both versions.
He is such a perfectionist and so hard on himself. I've had the joy of being corrected by him in all his hilarious William Shatner glory and it was just great. He's definitely very confident, but he's also warm, and keenly aware and intelligent, and unafraid of speaking up and standing up for what he believes in, even if he upsets many people in the process. He embodies the word "bold" and was perfectly cast as Captain Kirk. He is a true pioneer in many ways and still continues to boldly go where no man has gone before! ❤😁
William shatter was my idol when I was growing up and it’s such a joy to see him still going strong at 93, just goes to show there is no excuse to stop being active no matter what age.
I remember an interview i saw of his from many years ago when he turned 80. In the interview he recounts the day he turned 40, he woke up one day and thought that his life was almost over and he was old. Then he said something about how he was wrong and how he lived another great 40 years of life all happy and healthy. Looking at him now at 93, its crazy how he's been able to maintain his health and mental acuity.
His redo of the death scene was actually amazing. He's absolutely right about the way the line shouldve been said. As a Trekkie, the way he redid it gave me chills.
Happy birthday Bill! Is there ANYBODY who can lay claim to living a fuller life than this guy? And best of all he seems to realize that and has loved every minute of it.

In my opinion, William Shatner’s beyond brilliant death scene remake on Jimmy Kimmel could be the greatest moment of death scene ever portrayed by an actor. I was compelled to watch it over and over to witness Shatner’s brilliant, emotional, and inspired performance. I’m simply in awe.
I didn't quite get it (I'll have to rewatch the dialogue exchange beforehand) and I thought he was kidding... so I stopped what I was doing and was waiting for the audience to laugh because, I mean, it's a comedy show, I thought that's what he was doing. Then my eyes welled up because it looked so real. So I definitely misread the room 😂 and I'll have to rewatch it.
Being a Star Trekker, I love William Shatner and I love George Takei: I really wish they could settle their differences as they (and Walter Koenig) become the last original cast.

Saw him in person about a year ago from a show he did and it was incredible how mobile he was...moving around the stage and rarely sitting for very long, and even doing a bounce/jump motion during a story he was telling. I can't recall many if any other 93 year olds that can do that! Even better is the fact that he seems to be mentally sharp as ever as well.
I'm so blessed to have been to the L.A. Premiere and afterparty on Thursday. The film is awesome! Bill is awesome! Even my husband, who is not a fan that came with me, liked it! God Bless you Bill! And thank God for blessing you, because you are still ALL there!
I remember back in the 60s watching Startrek as a teenager, he was so handsome then and absolutely amazing now. People used to mock his acting style and said he was a ham actor but he's proved every critic wrong. He's still here, they are long gone or forgotten. This man will always be remembered.
Walter Koenig hates hearing that. Though he doesn't care much for Bill, he gave a passionate defense of Bill's talent as an actor and how the character should have died in a more heroic fashion.
Back when I lived in the US around 2016, I went to see his “Shatner’s World” show. He must have been about 85 back then, but you’d never have guessed that from the way he sang, danced and joked his way through the evening. I was really impressed back then, and I am even more so today. Here’s someone who seems to have plenty of reasons to get out of bed, out of the house and making a little dent in the world every day.
I remember seeing him when Star Trek first came out and thought he was fantastic. And oh so handsome too. He's had quite a career. Live Long and Prosper Mr. Shatner.🖖

@@lilfella7415 why am I getting comments as if I mentioned anything about cognitive abilities. Honestly please tell me what I said because I honestly don't get it. I said or implied that he has had cosmetic surgery, which he had.
O.K. was that weird?
I can't believe he is 93, happy birthday!
Excellent comment. It did make me laugh out loud. Thanks!
His walk is amazing!
International treasure!
Having to hardly 'work' a day in your life will do that to someone..
and his speech isn't slurred at all. compare that to many _youngster octogenarians_ or some septuagenarians. this man has been amazing for a long time but at this age he is even more amazing. God bless him and people like David Attenborough (97). 🖖
At the age of 93 he gave us a great acting demo, hats off .. what a voice at that age! Wow!
"It was ...fun!" ❤
These words will make history, when he leaves us for his next adventure.
That scene gutted me far more than "I have been and always shall be your friend" .
The most relatable and authentic death I have ever seen on screen - both versions.
No this was better. Brilliant!
I’ve never been into Star Trek so as an outsider that rocked me. Beautiful.
I concur.
I always thought his last word should have been "Edith."
There is no such thing as death, only transformation.
@@user-justbeingme I am proof that bad things never die.
@@user-justbeingme Yeah, transform into your core molecules and atoms to be dispersed back into the universe!
I have always loved William Shatner & Captain Kirk - best Star Trek ever. I look forward to seeing your 103rd birthday!
That would really be a Happy birthday
Happy birthday Bill! Is there ANYBODY who can lay claim to living a fuller life than this guy? And best of all he seems to realize that and has loved every minute of it.
Canadians are incredible 🇨🇦
I fell in awe of Capt Kirk while watching a black & white console TV in a basement at 4 yrs old. The lessons of Star Trek have stayed with me life long. Great to see he's still living long & prospering.
What a pleasure to hear again from this talented man, still so charming and witty.
He is 93?? I thought he is in his 70´s.....wow. Happy Birthday, Sir!
He's 30 years, and a day older
...than me
He couldn't be in his 70s, because that would make him a teenager during Star Trek.
LOVED THIS MAN AS A CHILD. my Papa is 91 and faces death as a release. God Bles you William. See Peace.
He's still such a handsome man & just as amazing as he's always been!!! God bless you William Shatner!
I've love William Shatner since I was a little kid. Star Trek was my favorite show.
Best looking 93 year old I’ve ever seen and one of the wisest people ever to walk the Earth!
One more of Canada's gifts to the world. Thank you Northern neighbors. 🇨🇦❤️
You're welcome 😊
Your welcome Big Brother 🇺🇸🇨🇦
Very proud of him 😊✌️

When it's all candles, and no cake...one tier actually, to hold them all is a good thing for someone who's still passionate about sharing thoughts and having a good conversation!
Shatner is extraordinary. Living long ... and prospering.
I was a Trekkie since I was a little kid. Despite having the full STOS, in VHS & a bunch of DVR'd episodes, to this day I still watch & enjoy it whenever I'm scrolling & catch it. Shatner is an absolute inspiration and a tried and true icon. Live Long & Prosper, Sir 🖖
When he went "Oh my..." that's when I broke. tbh, I thought it was a gag at first, so I had to rewatch that scene. Absolutely incredible. That really is the way he should have gone.
Totally agree with you. It was really moving.
Love our guy from Montreal. What makes him young, he is a very curious and intelligent man. Happy birthday Bill🇨🇦👏🏻
He lived in my neighborhood !
blessed to still have him with us , he is still on the tv still doing what he loves and i must say still a good looking man! god bless him
My mom got to sit in on an acting class with him. He is an old school AMAZING actor!! This was the way to do it and we got to see it! Funny what life teaches you over time. Star Trek forever!
He is the most articulate, well spoken, mobile, well aged actor Hollywood has ever seen. If someone told me he was 65, I'd have believed the... until I did the math, of course. BUT HE'S DOING INCREDIBLE!!!
There is no way he is 93...how amazing is his...and great to listen to
My Mom is 95 and I have an Uncle who is 96.
It's partly Genes, but also being careful what you eat and remaining active.
@@rdelrosso1973 If I get to 93 I hope I'm as sharp as he is...and certainly doesn't look like he is in his 90's .....Good on your Mum and Uncle....I always think what they must have seen in changes over the last 100 years
🤣
@Thepinkie57,
For real!❤️
What a journey!
If I make it to 93,I'm going to wake up from my dream
Dude that’s awesome 👏 Jimmy’s gonna save that “Oh My” bit & play it when he actually dies. Brilliant acting, Captain ❤
This is about the most best looking 93 year old I have ever seen, Shatner your one of a kind.
Bill tells it like it is. Just like when Deforest Kelley said in his TNG cameo "What's so damned troublesome about not having died?" I don't know why Takei has to bust his balls all the time, but I truly admire and love this guy. His expressions and reactions to things are priceless. He doesn't give in to the Hollywood BS. Everything he does, he goes boldly.
What a LEGEND!!! William hasn't lost a step ❤ Happy birthday 🎂
Imagine him walking to the lost and found, after losing a step
Wow, 93?! God bless him!
Thank you, William, for being Canadian and caring about this beautiful planet, we have been gifted.
I am absolutely MIND BLOWN by you William! I mean, I've been a fan for 20+ years but I never knew how old u were!!!! Wowzers 🤯
Captain , my Captain....you're the only ONE ...Happy birthday! From Rhodes, Greece with immense admiration and respect!!!☺
Live Long And Prosper, William Shattner!
Yes! Yes! Brilliant. Made me cry!!!
he was great and he made it look like the next great adventure.
4 seconds, no words and I was teary..bravo❤
Being a Star Trekker, I love William Shatner and I love George Takei: I really wish they could settle their differences as they (and Walter Koenig) become the last original cast.
Have never seen Shatner without his hair piece.
Meh, there's 8 billion people on the planet, some people just aren't going to like each-other.
Kirk? UBU! B here or B square! Boldly go where no man go B4: jimmy Kimmels filthy restroom!? Love longer + PROSPER. SAY HI TO NIMOY + TAKEI when go 2 Heaven... Or HELL! ❤😂🎉
Dude.. who u tink u r? Gene Roddenberry? He b so proud!
George enjoys being bitchy about it.
Damn, How can you NOT have tremendous Respect and Admiration for "THE" Captain Kirk!!!!!!!!!!!!! One of the very few men where I hang on every word. That 10:48 segment flew by at warp speed and felt like only 90 seconds!
I actually got to see him at a ST convention in TN back in the 90' s awesome to be in the same room with this iconic captain of my favorite starship
Thank you for all the great moments, William Shatner, and happy birthday!
3 years before i already saw comments on youtube that Shattner looks so young ,nothing has changed since then ,hes immortal
I'm so blessed to have been to the L.A. Premiere and afterparty on Thursday. The film is awesome! Bill is awesome! Even my husband, who is not a fan that came with me, liked it! God Bless you Bill! And thank God for blessing you, because you are still ALL there!
This man is an enigma. Listen to him talk .So clear no hesitancy no stutter and he looks so fit and trim at 93.
And I was 3 days from being 12 when Star Trek first aired on TV. How time flies, William.
Me, too, got to stay up late on Wednesday night to watch Star Trek.
That guy is really holding up well. I am so happy about his contribution to Star Trek. It's inspired many people.
That guy?!?! You mean THE CAPTAIN is holding up well, I'm sure.
I got the chance to take a photo with him on his last comicon in Seattle. That was the best moment in my life, honestly. He is just so sweet❤
for 93 he is still damn sharp. Its very crazy how differently people age.
If I make it 93, I hope I have this much energy left.
If I make it to 93, I hope my robot body has more energy left than this.
You won't 😂
People said Captain Kirk would live Forever.
Bill took it literally.......
That was without a doubt the best talk show interview I have ever scene in my life. That was history.
Imagine if Biden or Trump had Shatner's wit, intellect and charisma at their ages, we'd be talking about the election very differently.
…..but 🇨🇦
met him 2 years ago! he was super nice and full of energy!
From a true Trekkie...this interview was amazing. Awesome to see him...THE SHAT himself😊
I remember seeing him when Star Trek first came out and thought he was fantastic. And oh so handsome too. He's had quite a career. Live Long and Prosper Mr. Shatner.🖖
As a fellow Canadian I'm so proud of this man. He's an icon, funny, genuine and talented. He has a star on both Hollywood and Canadian walks of fame, an honorary doctorate from his alma mater McGill University Montreal (his home town) and in 2019 received Canada's highest honour The Order of Canada. He's lived long and prospered. Keep trekking Captain
Amazing!! I am his fan since childhood!! I'm 55 and he is still into bussinnes and further.
He take the phase "live long an prosper" to a new level, as someone said alredy!! Marvelous Cap.
How the hell did he retain his voice? Just listen to his voice. You would never think this man was in his nineties.
