Love your space. Glad to see I'm not the only one with a cat pole in her craft room. Plus I have a drawer unit in front of the window just for the cat to sit on. There's a dog bed in the corner of my room. Maybe it's the pets' room and I just rent space. LOL
I completely agree with you: spending hundreds, if not thousands, to make a róom pretty (which can be done with much less and more creativity) instead of buying supplies is crazy! Don't get me wrong, some of the craft rooms i watched here on YT are stunning, still, all that money could be spent better in my opinion.
I agree, those rooms would be a dream come true, I couldn't justify the expense when what I have works very well and stil makes me happy to create in... and I can buy more stamps lol.
It’s a great workable space. It’s so good to hear Aussie shops mentioned. Do you mind if I ask, where did you get those trays that your ink pads are in? They fit the deep drawers so well
Hi Kim, most of the trays I have are from the Reject Shop (or other local cheapie shops). The shallow wider ones I think came from Kmart or Big W. But I have had them for years but there is always something similar available and they were literally about $2 each. Hope this helps. Thanks so much for your lovely visit and comment, Crafty hugs Tx
So glad you were inspired, there are many different ways to store our stash and it's great to find ones that work for you. Hope you have fun at Ikea Sharon!
Thanks for sharing this Therese. I'm in New Zealand, so some of your tips work great for me. I use the coloured kids craft foam too for the same reasons, white and black are hard to source here as well! What a lovely space you have to create in and great tips on keeping machines accessible xoxo
Good morning Therese. I recall your previous tour and your mum helped out that time lol. Your room is great, large, bright and very inviting. I hope you continue to relax, inspire, create and teach for many many years to come. Keep safe and thank you or being you 😊 🌸 🌺
hahaha can't say that it is, I had just 'destashed' so that helped... but I do find that if it is too messy or cluttered then I struggle with creativity (does that make sense)?
What a great space and so well organized. I need to purge and organize, i know it would make my crafty life so much better. Thank you for sharing. You have a great space, love the windows and the space for your kitties. Sending crafty hugs🤗💕
I loved seeing your craft room. I’m always looking for new ways to store products. I did purchase two Ikea drawers several years ago but mine will not pull out far enough. Things are always getting lost. That is the only thing that I dislike about them…Thanks so much for sharing your space❤️
That's my complaint about them too, that's why I use the trays so I can pull them forward when I need to but I'm still able to use the whole drawer. I have also started thinking about changing the drawer runners to the 'overextended' ones, I'm sure someone has a hack for that somewhere here on YT. Hugs to you Jeanne!
This seems like a wonderful place to create and work in. Everything is so accessible to you, I like that! I also appreciate that you keep your space tidy, minimal and the fact the stamp out your catalogue for reference is demonstrated in the most professional work you create every week.
Nice to see your face! I always watch yr Altenew videos but I just subscribed to your own channel. Love yr work. My favourite craft storage is the IKEA drawers… and then my trolley… best wishes. Linda in UK.
Awesome Linda! Welcome and Thank you for subscribing! I agree, the Ikea drawers are wonderful, I just wish I could 'overextend' them so they pull all the way out, I'm sure there is a way to retro fit them... it's on my list to try lol.
Thanks Therese. It was nice to see a tour of an Aussie craft room as some of your sources are from companies I have heard of. IKEA , Kmart and Officeworks are my go to’s. 💕💕💕
Always enjoy seeing other crafter’s “happy place”! Thank you for allowing us to share this with you. I love the idea of putting the Cricut on a trolley, I have a Cricut but it’s a problem finding a place to use it as it needs space around it for the mats to move through the machine. But the best has to be the perch for your kitties, and right where they can supervise your work! Just brilliant 🥰. Thank you for sharing as always Therese. 😘❤️
Thank you for sharing your lovely happy crafting space with us Therese. I remember your Mum helping you last time and all your giggles! It’s a lovely bright room and I’m like you I don’t use things if they aren’t handy. I’m glad you still have your Penny Black stamps, I use to love your ideas with them. Thank you for continuing to inspire us with all your wonderful ideas. 😀
Thanks so much Louise, I hope to use some PB stamps real soon. I've been so busy lately with classes and DT stuff and camping, there has been no time lol.
Very helpful ! I had been looking for something for my copics and have just ordered the 6x6 cubes you have yours in.. and that rotating craft caddy looks like something that would work for me too, I love your craft room
What a lovely, clean, organized and open space. Therese no wonder you come up with such wonderful creative ideas. Everything is right around you so you could use it. Thank you so much for sharing your creative space. A tour of your craft room has given me a few ideas. I truly look forward to all of your tutorials.
Wonderful crafty space. I'll have to send you a picture sometime of my dungeon!! I really like the stand you have in front of the craft mat. It looks tidy and easy to access. Thanks for taking the time to show us your space. 😍
Hello Therese, I’m loving how everything is open & in front of you but still neat. The only thing I would do differently is hide any & all wires. It’s very much a me psycho thing. Love your creativity, thank you for sharing☺️
hahaha I totally hear you Sally, I have recently been changing up the wiring and after a little LIVE video mishap am a little scared to play too much lol. But I have bought some wire covers just not had time to add them... also the clips that I used to hang them keep falling so that is definitely on my to do list. Thanks for your lovely visit here today x
Therese, this was so fun! We should be getting kickbacks from IKEA! I have many of the same pieces! Such wonderful creative times you've shared from this wonderful space - you're very organized which is the best place to start in my humble opinion! xx
Hi Danila, they are from the local cheap shops (Reject shop and similar), I just took the drawer measurements with me and a couple of ink pads and I've had them for years. they were only a couple of dollars each. Hope this helps, Crafty hugs Tx
Yes, Roxane, it's just an 'Oxo' 11' Lazy Susan that I bought from Amazon. The machine fits perfectly on it and even though the machine feet don't touch the inside base it's very sturdy. I have it linked with the supplies if you want to see the exact one that I bought. Hugs Tx
I will eventually move and many of my crafting items are packed away, particularly all those wood stamps which take up enough room to hide elephant😄. In the mean time, I have mostly $ store bins. I don't love it, but things are stored cleanly with like items, so finding is easy. What I love in my craft space is a glass corner desk, ( from Jysk), L shaped and a wonderful OTT light.
I really love your space, particularly the unit which is no longer available. I love how relaxed you seem and felt welcomed into your space. It is very useable, organized and made for creating. So beautiful and fresh looking. And how will you know who I am? Like this:💖🇨🇦🥰
@@lostinpaper I hope you find and like the light. I've had it since I did folk art in the 1990's. It is wonderful, bringing perfect light so I can see colours more truly. We have lots of cloud and rain for weeks here during winter. 💖🇨🇦
Wonderful space Therese, For the foam, would a thin trip on the outside in black or white work and then fill the centre with the odd colours? so you see black or white on the side, but you use more coloured than the neutrals?
Do you mean the mess that is my fun foam? Because I think that could work well... hadn't thought of it, that's why it's nice to have clever and wonderful friends like you Maaike!
Watching the replay, what a fab space! Very jelly! 😊 Quick question what plastic pockets do you use for your stamp sets? I was lucky enough to get some of your purged items 🙏 & a couple were in the best plastic pockets. Would love to find the same ones or the brand?
Hi Bree, you are probably talking about the 'Marbig' ones (if there is no flap on top), they are called Card Holders and the size is A5. I also bulk-bought a different brand from Amazon as the Marbig ones were getting 'dearer' and they are pretty good too. I've got both linked at the video and at my blog. (I used to always buy them from an excellent Australian online store called Mega Office Supplies if you would rather not use AMazon). I hope this helps. Crafty hugs Tx
Hi Therese. this was fun! you seem pretty well set up. I agree with you.... things have to be accessible or you forget you have them and don't use them. can I ask why you have both a cricut and a scan and cut? do they do different things? Also,is there a particular way you do your destash. I know I haven't been around as much lately (life!) so maybe I missed it? (or maybe your destash is another word for toss?? 🤣) Thanks for sharing. 🥰
If I don't see it I forget it and that's why I prefer the open shelving. Here it is.... I won the Scan n cut at the last Papercraft show I went to in Brisbane and have grand ideas to use it to cut stamped images out (but haven't yet) and the Cricut was sent to me by the company to review and I have found it very easy and fun to use, so haven't bothered with the SnC as yet. As for the destash, I will have to think about the 'method' as to whether there was actually one lol. Hope you are having a great week!
Where did you get the Copic marker storage boxes please? With the 4 sections? I am using discarded dishwasher cutlery basket. Nice room! I have a space, not a room but still a lot of stuff
I have 2 brands of them linked in the description but they are getting very difficult to find at present (I'm hoping that they aren't being discontinued)......
Thanks for sharing Therese. Just a question, where did you get your personalised stamps for the back of your cards? Are they from Australia? I live in West Aust. I have been wanting to get a personalised stamp.
Hi Bronwin, my stamps were a gift from Altenew, they typically send one out every year or so to their customers as a gift and they also sent them to us on the design team which is awesome. The one place that i was going to buy from in Australia looks like it is closed for '6 months' it's called Jemac Rubber Stamps. I know that office supply places can do those 'old style' inked versions. Otherwise you could try Bossie Joscie in the US??? Although with conversion rates and postage at the moment. Although if they just sent the rubber bit it would fit in an envelope. Good luck and I'd love to know if you have any luck locally as I've had a couple of others ask me the same question. Thanks for your lovely visit and comments, Crafty hugs Tx
