- Everything we do has a purpose far greater than "just feeding" puppies for example. We take advantage of the opportunity to imprint, we wean slow and naturally and we wait for teeth to erupt so that we know the puppies are physically ready for food.

I'm sorry but this is a fulfilling life experience for me. I'm winging it but doing all I can. My jack Russel's had 5 babies, I lost one but the 4 are doing good. Mom isn't feeding them as well anymore but still has big milk sacks. They are just about 3 weeks old and their eyes opened just a couple days ago. Should I take Mom out and try to get them to eat mush?
Yes! Offer them mush/formula to lap!
I tried everything and they won't take food. And mom looks almost deformed still. Her belly is practically hanging on the floor with milk sacks. She looks like a cow. Honestly I can't wait until it is done. I'm keeping all of them!

Thank you for the post! Do you have any advice as to how to time the first feeding? My pups seem disinterested even after introducing the food (nose in plate and fibers) and went right to sleep.

They are called pig rails. They prevent from mom smashing puppies. They can escape under the rails.

Hi when do you introduce water please,? mine are on 3 meals just started weaning gradually and feeding off mum I did try a little warm water but they won’t do it, now I see this video I see they are still supposed wean off mum

This was so helpful. I have f1bb Labradoodles and momma doesn't like to nurse anymore unless we are right there with her the entire time. It makes it so hard. And she has not been cleaning up after them either so we have so much work over here + to add to this i decided to do ENS & ESI + noise desensitization. 🐾 💕. Pray for me. 😆

Mom should produce way more than enough milk for 3 pups.. not sure what issue you were having there. I would be working them up to milk replacer asap in that case
