Stocking Stuffers for My Kids + Husband on a Budget 🎄 Christmas 2017

- Today I'm sharing what SANTA normally brings to my kids and husband for Christmas. in our house, Santa likes to stay on budget, include toys and treats in the stocking and tries to find items that fit into the stocking ;)

Growing up we always got in our stockings shelled nuts,life saver book and a coconut, socks and candy. Every year as a adult my mama would always give me socks and a life saver book I just love those still. My Mama passed 5yrs ago so now my sister gives me my life savor book. Fun memories. St. Nicholas traveled to the house, and tossed three sacks of gold down the chimney for each of the dowries. The gold happened to land in each of the girls' stockings which were hanging by the fire to dry. The oranges we receive today are a symbol of the gold that was left in the stockings.
I already have 11 stocking stuffers picked up per child and it feels like enough for this year, they’re similar to the toys and books you got for your kids but I loved the scilly string and the Rudolph pen so I’ll keep that in mind for next year 👍🏼
I love affordable stocking stuffers I do not have human children but a 13 year old fur baby who gets spoiled 😂😂
Those are great stockings! My parents still make my brother and I stockings even though we are adults. Neither of us have kids yet but my mom is already planning on what to put in their stockings at Grandma and Grandpa’s house 😂❤️
I like these stocking stuffers. I have a Jackson as well that's 6. I wonder if I can find these type of items. I was unsure about a stocking because I didn't know what to put in it. Love love love these ideas.

We always got an orange in our stocking growing up too, but I haven’t passed that onto our kids! I’ve heard the story, but can’t recall it all right now! I love when practical gifts are fun to receive. My kids would LOVE to get bandaids! 😁
The story is Christmas oranges and there is a movie for it that is absolutely lovely!

We love opening our stockings. You did a nice job on your family's stockings. In mine I got make up, make up pencils, candy, earrings, and so much more that I don't remember it all lol.

I use to put those magic flannels in my daughters stocking. Never seen it with socks before. Also wind up bath toys, bath soap crayons, scented felt tips, sticker album and stickers, novelty torches, make your own candy necklaces, small plushies, a chocolate reindeer, chocolate coins, blowing bubbles, soaps with a surprise inside and littlest pet shop or my little pony figures, (the blind bags.)
As she got older and pokemon mad it was pokemon cards, pokemon figures, stickers, key rings etc, (basically anything pokemon!) Also art supplies, candy, flavoured lip balms, hair accessories.
Now as a teenager it's lots of fineliners, blendable markers, jelly roll pens, (she's really into art,) washi tape, sketch books, Japanese candy and snacks, diary, perfume, body sprays, temporary hair dye, nice mug with hot chocolate and marshmallows inside, bag charms, key rings, gift cards for Starbucks, earphones, disposable phone chargers etc
Oh these were all great ideas.. The ad I watched in front of it was really funny. I love their matching outfits omg.
I love all these ideas I think Santa has chosen some really good gifts! You should try making play dough at home, it’s super easy! 😀Just mix and kneed together 2 cups plain flour, 1 cup salt, 2 tbsp cooking oil, food colouring to colour and water to combine to the right texture. Usually around 1 cup too but I just add it in little bits until it feels right. Some people also add cream of tartar but I never bothered and mine always turns out just fine 😊 I make it at work with the toddlers I care for and they all love to help make it and then play with it after!
Santa did a great job! I love the Melissa & Doug art kits, my six year old did the butterfly magnets & adores them!
I filmed my kids, but have added to them since then a bit. I am still finishing up my husband.

Great job! As a child we always had an orange, an apple, loads of nuts in the shell, Reese's cups, assorted Hershey's miniatures and minty bells. We could also count on lip gloss or chap stick, hair ties, and assorted Christmas party trinkets like the ball mazes, slide puzzles and the cup with the ball and string.

I just had a conversation with a friend about the fruit in a stocking. Her grandmother told her that it stems from WWII rations, fruit being one of them. But being able to have them at Christmas time was a treat.
I also got oranges, apples, hard candy, and socks in my stocking for xmas.
*Water Wow books are the BEST! We always do bandaids in the stockings. I've seen the "magic washcloths" (which we get at the Dollar Tree) but not the "magic socks"! How fun. Bath bombs are always a hit with my kids as well!*

Low budget for some is ALOT cheaper. The stockings are full but EXPENSIVE.

I always had an orange and nuts in my stocking as a child. Mom said she got them in her stocking too. The reason is that she was young during the great depression and oranges were a very special item! However I never put them in my daughter's stockings.

A cool thing for teenagers is those disposable fone chargers. They come in a sachet, cost £2 or so and give 3 hours charge. They are so small and fit in a pocket. No excuse to not answer when you call them!!

I love your stocking ideas! Your kids will be thrilled! I admire your sensible Christmas gift giving! My kids are 24, 22, and 18 but I remember trying to keep things even when they were little. Even now I try to keep the dollar amount about the same. I just give my kids yummy treats in their stockings and will give hubby one yummy treat. I can't believe you mentioned Turkish Delight! My 18 YO son has been wanting some. Where did you find that? Online? In the past I have found it in the food section of Ross and T J Maxx, but haven't seen it recently.

The fruit at the bottom of the stocking is to represent saint nick he used to bring a basket of food every year to a low income family...

My kids love love love the Christmas Day and I keep it simple by giving them something they both like and something they personally love and we try to give them something not messy but fun but I need help finding info on snow we live in a place with no snow and we need help to get a Christmas gift with no messy things involved please
