Embarkation day is the best day! Stunning footage throughout! We never got the beignets before. A little rough for sure! Great video!

Embarkation day is fun, but the first sea day is the BEST day. All the travel and chaos is behind you, you're unpacked, the whole cruise is ahead of you, everyone has spread out around the ship, and it's a SEA DAY! My favorite day ever.

Noooo....fly in earlier, head down to Galveston and enjoy your pre-cruise night. Galveston is a kick, and then the next morning you don't have to be worried about a traffic jam before your cruise. We stayed in Houston the first time we sailed from Galveston, lesson learned. Get your booty on down there the day before. Did you guys have any trouble getting an Uber from IAH? We are flying in there the first time in January, unfortunately. January is not a time of year to mess with trying to drive to Denver from WY so we don't have a choice with only United serving us. I know it'll cost, and also worried enough about the return trip to think about booking the Carnival bus coming home. Anyone with experience is gladly welcomed to let me know how things went for you.

We flew in so late, midnight we didn’t want to do the drive. I grew up in Houston and have siblings there still so it was worth the risk. But you are right getting to Galveston first or as soon as possible makes since because you never know about ride shares. But it wasn’t bad as I think being at the airport it was fine and our driver said there will be a need at the port for a return trip to Houston. My sibling picked us up after the cruise as well so we didn’t need to to Uber. Never have tried a carnival shuttle, I would but I hear the full them up and it was a long ride, I don’t think I would like that
