This is a fine speaker. Very good build. Sounds great. Full detailed sound. I carry this speaker to my front and rear patios and my moho on trips. I like the idea you can plug the speaker in to household power and use it as a full time speaker. I find the speaker works well connecting with both BlueTooth and WiFi Airplay. This speaker is quality through and through. The Bose Music App works well. I purchased a rubber sleeve and case to provide additional protection.
The only complaint I have about this product is the loud voice prompts that can't be turned off Edit: Also my wireless mouse interferes with the Bose's signal. I expected the price tag of the Bose to not have the same issues I had with cheaper speakers

Hi great question! I wouldnt say the bass is bad, I would argue it is lacking depth. Take the Sonos Roam for example it has a richer bass compared to the bose portable home speaker despite being a smaller speaker.
@@SoulOfTech Just got my Bose Portable today and very happy. I can only compare to my Ruark R1 which I used as a portable speaker and the UE Megaboom which I promptly sent back for lack of bass. It easily the best bluetooth speaker I've had. I get your point about the bass. It is very pronounced and meaty at up to around 50%. Any higher and it gradually tones down as you go higher. I assume this is to prevent distortion and perhaps speaker damage. I am not too concerned though as I will rarely need it higher than 50% (which is plenty loud) and speaker still sounds good regardless. And it looks awesome in white/silver

I’ve had this for 6 months now and while the sounds is great the functionality sucks. When it turns on it loudly announces what device it is connecting to. It does not auto shut off no matter what I do. The app is garbage. A bit disappointing given the price.
I have this speaker. Sadly it cant be connected as a stereo pair or I would get a second one which would put the Home Pod to shame. I put a rubber sleeve on the speaker for extra protection. Airplay and Bluetooth connection works very well. Oh yes, there is plenty of bass. Use care where you place it.

Hi, good question. The Bose 500 Home Speaker is a more powerful speaker and produces heavier bass and has greater range. The portable speaker is great too but due to its smaller body has a smaller speaker.

If it can't play some of my DEEPEST bass drops, then it's an automatic no for me, and even admittedly the revolve plus can't hit some of those super low frequencies. Does it have built in dual passive radiators like the revolve+ does? If not, then I HIGHLY DOUBT it's better. I'd have to hear it in person or see actual official specs to know for sure.
Random side note: the entire jbl series is fucking trash. They have TOO MUCH TREBLE and no ACTUAL BASS. I heard a jbl extreme in person once, OH GOD, IT WAS HORRIBLE. IT COULDN'T EVEN PLAY THE BASS NOTES ON A QUARTER OF MY BASS LIBRARY WITHOUT CHOKING AND DISTORTING MISERABLY! Jbl is WATER-RESISTANT, AND AS A DIRECT RESULT, AUDIO IS PAINFULLY MUFFLED.
Jbl Xtreme series is prob most comparable with a price tag also of 349$$. Side note , I just got the jbl charge 5 and this thing is LOUD AND clear with heavy bass 😛😛

While there are a number of differences I’m going to over simplify it by mentioning 2 key differences: 1) The Bose Portable Home Speaker has support for both google Assistant and Alexa, the Revolve + does not. 2) The Drivers on the the Bose Portable Home Speaker are slightly more powerful than the the Revolve + and are able to produce higher dB.
Assuming the price was half, would you prefer two of these instead of two apple homepod mini s? (Maybe to form surround setup in a living room and if needed each in a separate room) I mean the sound quality and overall features would be still superior to the apple homepod mini?

This guy doesn't know what he talking about. If Bose says it can go into the shower, believe me it can. About 10 years ago the was a leak my celling & water got into my new Bose Home theater setup. I paid a good $4,000 for it (USA). And didn't like the fact that water got into it. And I had home insurance. So when I was telling them what items were damaged I said the Bose of coarse. But even with water inside it worked fine. But for that kind of money I didn't want to take any chances in something down the road happening to it. The insurance company said they would only replace something if it was broke or didn't turn on. I said to myself I'll fix that lol! So I pour more water into the vents of the Bose & that didn't do it. So next I filled the tub with water & dropped my Bose into it. And wait for all the air bubbles to disappear. You know what? When I took it out & plugged it in still worked just fine. This is the home theater will the reciever & 5 small speakers & a big woofer. I wasn't going to give up now after all this so I put it back underwater again & plugged it into the wall, And I took a stick so I wouldn't get electricuted, & pushed the open button underwater. The DVD try opened up underwater & everything was fine, I couldn't believe it. I did this over & over & the damn thing would not break. I did this 3 times & t5he damn thing would not break. Half of the stuff I buy doesn't work, whether it a game system or TV or Radio. I have bad luck like that but this was unreal. I can't remeber how it finally broke. But believe me it was not easy. After that I said to myself maybe other product sound better. But Bose make one hell of a product. I have never in my life heard a stero that sounds better at the same size. If they sound better they are bigger. But what Bose puts in such a small product is nothing buy magic. This feel weird, I'm usually trash talking crappy products. Not praising them

Nothing in all the paper work that came with the product said anything about this. I listen to music that is on my phone. I got over 30 GB on Flashdrive & IMO I have more freedom. This was a deal breaker for me. When I listen to Music I normally have an album in mind I want to listen to. And some of the best music is not on a streaming service. SHAME ON BOSE. They should at least make it clear on the box that it only streams

Whats does the screw mount do the at bottom? Can I mount it on patio so it don't fall?
The screw mount at the bottom is for the charger which you can buy from Bose som in that you you do not have to use the USB - c cable to charge it.

This was a deal breaker for me. When I listen to Music I normally have an album in mind I want to listen to. And some of the best music is not on a streaming service. SHAME ON BOSE. They should at least make it clear on the box that it only streams
