I am just started to learn about podcasting. I found your video very helpful. Price is not an option too much but function is. I love that you stressed functionality., in the field or the studio! I haven't made up my mind yet, but I am writing an history book that I need to interview people and may need to go the them instead of my studio. Thank you so much . You produced a great video!
Thank you for sharing your story here. That’s very interesting - and motivating to go forward with more videos. I appreciate that. I hope you can find the right setup for yourself and create the beat possible interviews for your work. 👍
I like this Chris, wish we had more actually listening and seeing the video of the differences.. Alot of cover, but would have been nice to hear and see more the differences.
That's an excellent and extremely clear video, thanks Chris. It's helped my make up my mind, as well. I plan to use a P4 to allow me to take phone calls while reporting local news, and to plug one of the headphone line outs into the camcorder's mic jack socket . . . should work, I hope!
That sounds like a great use-case and should definitely work. And since the Chanel 3 will be used by the phone, you actually still can hook up 3 other headphone sets for people local and then have the 4th Chanel go to the camera. And thank you for the great comment. I appreciate it.
Thank you for this really well made video, I was surprised to find out that the Podtrak produces 1 stereo recording, that can make post-editting a little bit tricky if let's say speakers talk mistakenly at the same time or a portion of the conversation needs to be clipped out neatly. Do you know if it's possible to get around this via software? Recording each channel separately into the software for example?
Thank you. The P4 does record all 4 channels into individual WAV files when recording to the SD card in addition you also get one Stereo Mix WAV file. However, when you connect it directly to a computer for the recording to be done there, then you can only get one Stereo Mixdown Track. So, just record onto the SD card and you will have all the files you need 👍 to fix any talking at the same time etc.
Hello Chris, I have a question in channel 3 mix minus M phone or WhatsApp calls to record in separate track left and right between caller and answerer totally separate from each other? I just got a new device but I can't get this function like I did with my normal mixer and Irig 2 is work perfectly what I need, waiting for your answer. Wish you all the best DillonLek
es cierto que si haras podcast con video este zoom podtrack no te sirve? por algo de kilohertz me parece, que tiene problemas para sincronizar, mil gracias.
Chris, can you do a budget video on video for podcasting. I'm going to get the PodTrak P4 I believe, but want to have 3 or 4 video, but it pans to whoevers talking at the moment. Can you also do a video on AI apps for podcasters? Thanks! J- from DFW!
Hi Chris. I hope you are doing fine. Do you use Filmic pro? If yes, as you have the equipments, would you please try to make a video about clean HDMI out feed from the phone using Filmic pro and capture card?
That is a very interesting idea. I would have to look into this further as it is not currently my use case but interesting non the less. Also, I have yet to hear about iPhones and HDMI out… do you have some resource about that and I would then figure out if this is something I can test and possibly buy the adapter for?
Hey Ehsan, I will check out the video. I found it in the comment notification. Probably gets removed because I have been having issues with links in the comment section and activated the filter for urls. Here is the link for people wondering: m.ua-cam.com/video/8NyyphJgkzA/v-deo.html
Hi Ehsan, I just took a look at the video you linked. I am not sure how much information I would be able to add to this at this point. She really covers a lot about the setup and it's great that she also provides the product links. I am currently not going to invest in the adapters that I would need to test this setup out and create a video about it. Especially since the AV adapter from Apple is like 50$ which I do not need in my setup. Maybe you reach out to Sara ask her your questions and she can clarify some aspects. Good luck and happy filming.
Hi... My friend and I are planning to start recording podcasts together, but we can't agree on whether the quality difference between expensive and affordable microphones is really necessary. I suggest buying at least an RE20 or an SM7B, while my friend prefers microphones in the Podmic price range. Do you think the difference between these two microphones would be noticeable for listeners? Do you think we should go all out and choose established, high-end products, or would more budget-friendly microphones suffice? Thank you for your recommendations. Please help me, I've been sleepless for four days, researching only this topic. I admit that I am overly obsessed, but I want to do my job properly and cleanly. I am very talkative and warm-hearted, never hesitant to laugh, and I usually laugh a lot. I used to do Twitch streaming before, so I have knowledge about how to gain viewers. Now, I want to sleep, please tell me which microphone and sound card I should get....
