It's possible, but I really believe the manufactures are much smarter about it today than they were in the 80s/90s. I've personally talked to some of the high-ups at Panini and they say preventing another junk wax era is one of the top things on their mind at all times.

The Griffey rc card and then the Upperdeck Jordan sp were the cards I was chasing back in the day. I did start getting my hands on some Desert Shield Topps card but got out of the hobby and dont know where none of those are. The Shield cards hold a lot of value. Loving all your content!! I've really started to get into soccer card investing recently. I loved collecting when I was a kid and it's been such a source of joy to get into it again.
I have collected since I was 6 I now am 13 and have over 28,000 and in 2020 I started selling and have got my hands on some pretty cool things! I would love to get my hands on this thank you and have a great day
The world of sports card collecting for the average person can be overwhelming. Thank you for the time and effort you put into showing me how to turn my childhood hobby into another way to build a financial future.
There is no way that the junk wax era of cards graded or ungraded will ever be on the same playing field with vintage. The last two years has put that on full display. The prices kick up but then it dies right back down because there is no true collector market for junk wax graded or ungraded in large enough numbers to ever warrant million dollar sale of a Ken Griffey 89 upper Deck. I love the card. I love the player. But we have to be realistic and I think that's when people get into trouble in this hobby is when they are not realistic. For example during the Hysteria of the pandemic as it relates to cards, Jordan's PSA 9 got up to $90,000. Now they sell for $25,000. Those people lost almost 70% of their investment. Short of there being another worldwide crisis that shuts down sports, they've lost that money for a long long time if not forever. I love your enthusiasm for the sport card market but the iconic players of the '60s aren't going anywhere or the 50s. The people in the know are even chasing back to pre-war baseball because of the long-term investment that that suggests and the ROI.

This is very informative! I’m 38 and started collecting 25 years ago, which was very short lived because girls quickly became the new collectible for me at that time. I recently picked up where I left off back then and first thing I did was chase after all the Griffey Jr. cards I couldn’t get my hands on. I’m amazed to see what they’re going for now!

Actually was a seller of sportscards back during the "junk wax" years, still have some leftovers from that era. But, mostly have been a lapsed collector over the past 20+ years. Geoff's videos have helped rekindle my interest in collecting - or maybe investing in - sportscards. Great stuff!
I loved the older cards of 50s-70s growing up. But I never bought any after the late 80s. I may start again after watching your videos as an investment. Glad I kept all my old cards over the years.

I loved the older cards of 50s-70s growing up. But I never bought any after the late 80s. I may start again after watching your videos as an investment. Glad I kept all my old cards over the years.
