#FlatTopFriday #1973MartinD1235 1)Give a little bit/Supertramp 3)Handle With Care/Traveling Wilburys just a good ol’ Martin 12 stringin’ barreling cannon 💥 great Demo, wassup Mark and Jen 🎥🎸
I bought my ‘65 D12-35 in ‘69 and played it a lot until about ‘88. In 1980 I took it to the factory to have the neck checked and the low G tuning machine replaced. While there I bought a prototype Vega that remains my favorite 6 string. It has no markings on the headstock but is serialized. The 12 rings, sustains, and is loud, plus it will get your fingers in shape fast! They are beautiful to look at as well as play.
Mark I have been watching u guys for a while the day is not complete w o u dudes plus u guys keep my interest for playing up up up . thank u for that for real u will never know cheers thanks
Definition of hytham...a guy with a lot of fat around his tits...too bad your fat is around your head....you must lactate out of the top of it.......go away foreigner......
Guitar ocd....of course you are correct.....there have been only a couple of jackasses that I have responded to like this....this guy...for as long as he has been on this comment section....has NEVER had anything positive to add ever.....if he is so unhappy with this channel...simply leave...but as you say...he knows he's being obnoxious and revels at doing it....like PT Barnum put it...theres a sucker born every minute....i guess the same can be said for idiot fucks......
My Favorite Martin. Mark kinda reminds me of Bill Bixby. Seriously, I always thought the 'Splitback' was a plus, especially playing bluegrass. They boom. I think it looks cool too.
#Guitar of the day : I love the sound of a 12 string guitar , can't play them worth a damn as my hands are too small but love to listen to them. Nothing sounds quite like a martin , and that rosewood just sings , very nice demo Mark , long live GOTD , hey Jen , Whaaaaaats up?
Next Friday will you play I Don't Want to Set The World on Fire by the Ink Spots. You probably already knew who it's by. Buuuuuut, yeah. I freakin love that song.
Mark would you all do a video about your buying and or trading process at Norm's, maybe doing with it with an actual client as you go through the process. Rock on!!!
Hi Mark and to the lady filming you. Quick question what is the difference between the 2 1979 gender startocaster anniversary you have. One seems to be the grey one and the other the gold colour one (the coulour that used to crack). Thanks David the French man
KnottyKnotty Did it sound in tune to you? The chimed note was also an A#. It could be that the guitar is overall sharp (harmonic notes) and needs its intonation reset or some other neck work.
Who has the time and is interested in creating Spotify or Apple Music Playlists for songs Mark plays on GTOTD? That’s gonna be one hell of a job considering how many episodes there are of the show but I’m sure it will be a fun project for one of you who watches this series religiously.
I'm surprised he didn't play "Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd, it sounds awesome on a 12 string. I picked up a 1977 D12-35 a year ago to match my '77 D-35 six string. You just can't beat the sound of 45 year old aged wood. BTW, the D-35 has more bass than the D-18/D-28 because the top braces are thinner (1/4" vs 5/16"), I don't know if that carried over to the 12 string,. The current D12-35 has 5/16" bracing, and I'm guessing the older models did also due to the increased string tension.
Ralph Towner could tickle a 12-string! The difficulty is getting the octave string on any given course to ring on an upstroke. I still don’t know how Ralph did/does it.
Two killer smart a$$ comments in one episode. “You can’t tickle a 12 string” “Jangle jangle bitches” Oh and let’s not forget a pretty sweet sounding Martin. Nice job guys (as per usual). 👍🏻
I'm like "what's up with that thing where your arm rests" then Mark says "custom arm rest" and I'm like oh ok, I don't like it even more now. haha Cool guitar otherwise.

Fender jazz 62 morning FJ. I like how you are our internet police 🚔 putting the internet trolls in place. kudos 😂
A trolls biggest fear is to be ignored. If they're ignored they dry up and die.

Props to Mark's neighbors for being good neighbors.
This and mark's story completes my Friday the 13th
George Harrison knew how too "Tickle" a 12 string... LoL
My Favorite Martin. Mark kinda reminds me of Bill Bixby.
Seriously, I always thought the 'Splitback' was a plus, especially playing bluegrass. They boom. I think it looks cool too.

True.

False
I am thinking about adding an internal pickup for recording .
Any recommended brands?
K&K
Man that second song sounded fire man.
That Martin sounds sweet.
What material is used to make the neck binding ? I know it's a dumb question.
Is it plastic like the pick guard or is it wood ?

It’ll work 👍 hey thanks Mark happy Friday 13th. ✌️Jen have a great time 🌷
Sick
What about the bracing? It's thinner than the 18/28 and that's the main thing that gives it more bass.
Woah! Where’d you get that shirt from!
There's no guitar in the world that's as good as a 12 string in my opinion. They are the best. I want 1. And I will have 1 one of these days.
And Mark you should add the extra uber rare d12 45 martin made! Theres only one video on youtube of a d12 45 and its a sunburst too
Sounds good
miss ya tom RIP

Cool as always. Love the show. Question: Brand of watch you’re wearing? Definitely Bitchin’!
The top
I want that t shirt. I've already searched online aaaaaand I cant seem to locate the exact same one.
Brilliant as usual, and try to find a Slingerland
The guitar is tuned sharp?
I was thinking the same thing. But I'm just some dickhead on the internet.
Troy Strain advise from a pro.???
It always has seemed to me that 12 strings sound a little sharp. Think its just part of their nature
KnottyKnotty Did it sound in tune to you? The chimed note was also an A#. It could be that the guitar is overall sharp (harmonic notes) and needs its intonation reset or some other neck work.
Ethan Roebuck I have to agree, but have you seen Justin Johnson 12 string guitar tuning video? on youtube
Ranking the top 3 main rosewoods
1. Brazilian Rosewood
2. Madagascarian Rosewood
3. Indian Rosewood
Love me some Traveling Wilburys
a 12 string really needs that 3 piece back to help the sound not get too jangle(y).
I have a '69 D35S that absolutely roars
It was called ‘The Folk Era’

Funny my d12 20 has the bound neck too! Mist of been repaired and added!

Is this like Gibson's j35 shape?
Gentle...why crush it.
Dude where do I get one of those shirts ??
Two killer smart a$$ comments in one episode.
“You can’t tickle a 12 string”
“Jangle jangle bitches”
Oh and let’s not forget a pretty sweet sounding Martin. Nice job guys (as per usual). 👍🏻
