Bullshit I can literally draw geometry while doing this and I can't sing and play simultaneously worth shit even though I can do either one fine on its own
Actually sat down and committed myself to doing this! Picturing spinning gears and "crossover" of the points made it easier for me to imagine a pattern around.
Yeah the spinning gears helped me. Also making my eyes unfocused and looking straight ahead sort of helped me disengage the visual so I could concentrate on the motion

And my brain actually feels exhausted. Like cardio but only in my head. I can’t do it well but I’ve def made progress. Thanks everyone.
@@theguy2742 some say to imagine a center point around where you’re rotating(fingers facing each other). The one suggestion that helped me get started is imagining a square. The face of the square is facing your hands and the edge is facing your chest. Starting from the top center(or any point that works for you) move your fingers opposite each other so they pace each other. Keep tracing the square in opposite directions. Do this til you’re comfortable then you can try circles. what also helped me is looking in a mirror. I realized when my hands go in the same direction my fingers would meet or overlap once. In the center part of the rotations circle. But when my hands go opposite they over lap twice. Top and bottom. You’ll be able to see that when you trace the imaginary square Hope what I said made some sense and helped out.

I have better results when I spin one finger for a few seconds then try the other but my brain just wants them to do the same thing and it's a mess idk
I did it. I never know what to say in a job interview when they ask what my greatest accomplishment is. Now i can just do this 😂
This is perfect for such scenarios! Imagine if you're too anxious to get it right, though!! "What you consider to be your greatest achievement in life?" Smiles. Positions fingers, "Watch this.. Are you ready?"

Have you tried unplugging and plugging it back in?

Yeah it’s funny my brain kept trying to force one finger to do what the other was doing. It’s only in a relaxed state and meditation that I can have them go in opposite directions.
My eyes : ok i can do this
My brains : ok i can do this
My hand : no you don't
More like the part of your brain that is thinking thinks it can do this, but then the other part of the brain can't. Internal conflict fr
@Termenz1 yeah, sometimes i look at some hand trick or some shit like this and thinking " ez, i can do that" but when i try for 3 to 4 minutes my hand stop working
I can do this!...Correction: I can't do this more than 3 times!
Still your brain...
Make heart shape not round shper.
I did it! Start by practicing with rectangles, moving slowly. When you get comfortable, switch to circles, then gradually increase your speed. Repeat whenever you fail!

Yohhhhh after 30 minutes of constant mental pain ,I can gladly say I've managed to do it both clockwise and anti clockwise on each finger . Shows how awesome the brain is 💯. I gotta lay down now
anti clockwise? you mean counter? xD got brain damage
I can't do it fast, but it only took me five minutes at max.

I did this immediately. I'm going to show everyone in my team meeting on Monday.
I've known how to do it for so long I thought it was a silly trick most adults could do by now, but this is the first time I've seen somebody else bring it up in 30 years.

@@tajaikeaton6388 practice by putting your index fingers together, then move your hands horizontally in opposite directions (one forward and one backwards), then down, horizontal, and up.
Practice this "squared" pattern and once it fills natural you can try changing to a circular motion.

The finger thing is hard
I had a guitar teacher when i was young show me this and he said if you can do this it should be easier to play and sing at the same time. He was correct. It's a good brain exercise.
Am a drummer, have literally used this hand spin thing to practise limb independance
Same w piano. Three have to be independent. Your voice when singing and your two hands and 10 fingers@@andishawjfac
I'm found it quite easy but I play and sing guitar (badly)
As a bass player trying to learn how to sing and play I will start practicing this. Thank you
Bullshit I can literally draw geometry while doing this and I can't sing and play simultaneously worth shit even though I can do either one fine on its own
This video made me discover that I can do that too, thank you!
Actually sat down and committed myself to doing this! Picturing spinning gears and "crossover" of the points made it easier for me to imagine a pattern around.
I pictured a toilet paper roll 🧻and having it roll over and under 😂
Yeah the spinning gears helped me. Also making my eyes unfocused and looking straight ahead sort of helped me disengage the visual so I could concentrate on the motion
Like a bike pedal or two hamster wheels next to each other
Exactly me brother!
Thanks, it helped me too
I'm a drummer and I'm used to my limbs doing different tasks, but this took me a while to get down! Very cool tidbit of our neurobiology
Drummer here too! I'm gonna practice this in order to split my brain into even more pieces😂😂
Same!! Even with working different time signatures, this is still harder 😅
I don't even play instruments and i could do that
Same as draw a Circle with one Hand and a triangle with the other Hand. A friend is a pianist and said he learned stuff like that in the Music School to be a better pianist. Can imagine its also usefull when being a drummer.
I was trying for 30-40 seconds and then went sicko mode and screamed out into my house "GOT IT GOT IT GOT IT I GOT IT" 😂
I taught myself this as a kid and this is actually the first time ive ever seen someone else able to do it 😮
I don't get how people find this so difficult. Never tried it, but I gave it a go after seeing this. Took me about 20 seconds.
i think me too!

This video genuinely pushed me to learn something new and difficult and I did it by trial and error via the suggestions and tips of others here in the comments that had success. This feels good. And my brain actually feels exhausted. Like cardio but only in my head. I can’t do it well but I’ve def made progress. Thanks everyone.
How I've tried starting with arm extended from my sides then to my chest I can't with elbows bent good work
@@theguy2742 some say to imagine a center point around where you’re rotating(fingers facing each other).
You’ll be able to see that when you trace the imaginary square
Hope what I said made some sense and helped out.
Ok I’ve been practicing this now for like 5m, thanks a lot cause now I can’t stop

Edit: thx for the likes, if you're a drummer & can't do it it'll be because you were either self taught or mostly self taught.. when being taught by someone they'll most likely get you to try rhythm training first
