Oh my GOLLY OLLY Daz :-D your Euphorbia obesa x Symmetrica Seedlings are absolutely GORGE :-D and the wonderful size of them and the stunning banding markings on them are AWESOME, they all look so healthy and happy and its amaizng how different they are all in size, they all have their own little individuality about them, our seedlings from the seeds you gave us are growing amazing too, AWESOME update and repotting Daz, and thanks so much for sharing with us, they really are beauties and cuties, and Hans and I are sending you and beautiful Edith lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER to England and Singapore for a super sunny Sunday ahead XXXXX
Thank you so much, Lyn 😊 Yeah I’m surprised by the size of the biggest compared to the smallest. That biggest one must have strong genetics haha. So happy your seedlings of these are doing well, too 😊 Thank you for watching and commenting as always, Lyn. Have a wonderful Sunday from Edith & myself to you and Hans ❤️🌵☀️🌼🌺🌸🏜
Lovely Update video! Those Euphorbia seedlings are really amazing and so cute! Love the colours on them! Nicely repotted. Thanks for sharing! Great evening to you Daz and Edith! Hope you have a wonderful new week!
Thank you so much, Sylvia 😊 It’s been awesome growing these from seed. At least spider mites seem to leave them alone anyway! Thank you for watching and commenting as always. Have a lovely evening from Edith & myself 🌵☀️🌼🌸🌺🏜
Wow!!! Some of them really took off!!! I noticed I got a bit of variation with my horrida X polygona hybrids & my ceriformis X polygona hybrids. Some seem quite large next to their mates. Just planted gorgonis X mini medusa seed. But so far only one has come up. Yeah, pretty crazy your possibly getting flowers on the largest!! Very cool!!! Thanks for sharing Daz!!! They look awesome!!! From Morris Park in the Ozarks, to the UK 🇬🇧 and Singapore 🇸🇬 have a wonderful day!!! Peace, Love, Plants!!!✌️💖🌵🍀🌹🌴🌳💐🌱🌾🌸🌷🪴🌿😃👍
Thanks so much, Clyde 😊 Yeah some seem like they’re on steroids haha. On the largest one those two little nubs that look like flowers forming have been sitting there for a while now though. Will be pretty cool if it does flower before becoming a year old. Thank you for watching and commenting as always my friend. Have a wonderful day from Edith & myself to you and Deb 🌵☀️🌸🌺🌼🏜
Wow, Daz, those seedlings are looking excellent, very healthy roots and beautiful colourations, well done and congrats! Thanks for sharing! Sending you and Edith very best regards, a lovely rest of your Sunday and a great week ahead! Happy growing!!
Thank you so much again, Joe 😊 Yeah I’m very happy with how well these are doing. Hopefully the second batch of seeds I get from the symmetrica germinate well, too. Thank you for watching and commenting my friend. Have a wonderful day from Edith & myself and happy growing as always 👍🏻🌵☀️🌼🌸🌺🏜
Thank you so much, Justin 😊 Yeah I’m liking how the majority of these are looking, such cool plants. Thanks for watching and commenting. Have a wonderful day from Edith & myself 🌵☀️🌼🌺🏜
Awesome update! I have 6 obesas, 5 female & 1 male. I’ve sown about 25 seeds so far and 95% have germinated and I’ve got even more seeds coming! Mine are about 1-2 months old and most are around the size of a pea, but growing fast, I grow outdoors 11 months out of the year so that really helps my euphorbias thrive 😁
Thank you 😊 Yeah the females tend to outnumber the males, although they can change sex from female to male and vise versa. Looking forward to growing more of these once the symmetrica seeds are ready. Good luck with your ones, too. Thanks for watching and commenting 🌵☀️🌼🌸🌺🏜
@@Cactimania I was happy to see that yours also started out with the skinny stalk but then nevertheless got to their nice round form. I was worried that it was a symptom of etiolation in mine
Thank you so much, Claire 😊 Yeah I’m really happy with how well these are doing. Hopefully being in the greenhouse for summer will give them a big boost as well, especially if the weather stays how it is now. Thank you for watching and commenting as always, Claire. Have a lovely evening from Edith & myself 🌵☀️🌼🌸🌺🏜
Excellent update video on the Euphorbia seedlings, Daz! You have a superb success rate. I know some cacti species are slow growers but these are looking good. I am completely blown away by the size of the two big ones! Sending you and Edith peace, love and happiness for a great weekend!
Thank you so much, Jeff 😊 Yeah that largest one in particular is a very fast grower, I think it’s on steroids 😅 Glad you enjoyed the video. Have a wonderful day and rest of the weekend from Edith & myself 🌵☀️🌼🌸🌺🏜
Thank you so much, David 😊 Yeah some lovely markings and banding on some of them, hopefully the ones in the greenhouse develop that more prominently with strong natural sunlight. Thanks for watching and commenting. Have a wonderful day and rest of the weekend from Edith & myself 🌵☀️🌼🌺🏜
Cheers Daz! Some good experimentation going on here! Be good to see how they do in the coir/worm casting mix, instead of the John Innes, also good to see the greenhouse vs grow lights ones later in the year :)
Yeah I’m looking forward to seeing the difference between the ones in the greenhouse and the ones in the grow tent later in the year. And I’m liking that new soil mix as well, just hope the plants do haha. Thanks for watching and commenting. Have a wonderful day from Edith & myself 🌵☀️🌼🌸🌺🏜
Nice update, the colour on some of them are amazing, I don't think the parent plants even showed those colours, they also grew very fast, did you fertilise them?
Thanks so much, Toby 😊 The mother plants are starting to show some nice colours and banding now we’re into summer, more so my obesa. It’s been hot and sunny here day after day for a good two weeks now. Yeah the seedlings did get a couple of feeds, but I think their good growth is more down to consistent light from being in the grow tent. Thanks for watching and commenting. Have a wonderful day from Edith & myself 🌵☀️🌼🌸🌺🏜
I potted up some babies from one of my cacti after watching this. 😊 now I have about 10 or more. 😮 what will I do with them? LOL. It had a lot more on it than I thought
Wow! Time flew! I loved that you showed us a recap of your videos about these cuties. They have changed and definitely look like their matured form already. I have not grown these plants from seed. At what point do they lose their cute little leaves, Sweetheart? They also changed their form from looking like lollipops to globose and compact. So very interesting! These are one of my top faves in Euphorbias. ❤️🌱🌵💚
Thank you so much my love 🥰 They lost their little leaves quite early on, I’d say within the first 3 to 4 months. Yeah they’ve certainly filled out nicely now and look like proper obesa/symmetrica lol. Definitely one of my favourite Euphorbia, too. Enjoyed watching with you as always babe. Thank you for all your love, support and encouragement ❤️🤗😘🌵❤️
Haha they came from a worm trader in the Baltic 😅 A little bit expensive but may as well use up what I have. Thanks for watching and commenting my friend, have a wonderful day from Edith & myself 🌵☀️🌼🌸🌺🏜
Not at all. LED grow lights are very efficient and barely cost anything to run, especially if you just have the one grow light. Thanks for watching and commenting 🌵☀️🌼🌸🌺🏜
Love the update video, What’s the watering frequency you do since your last individual potting for these seedlings. I tend to water twice a month for my mature obesa.
These younger ones I've been watering every few weeks, during the summer months about every two weeks, the same for my mature one also. Thanks for watching and commenting 🌵☀️🌺🌸🌼🏜
Consistent light most likely, although a couple of mine still seem to be growing pretty slowly. Where do you have your ones growing? Thanks for watching and commenting 🌵☀️🌼🌺🏜
@@bryenanthony1890 Hmm they should certainly be a little bigger than what they are then. But as you saw from my video, I have a few that haven’t grown much at all. I sometimes have the same thing happen with cactus seedlings, for whatever reason some seem to grow at a much slower rate than others of the same species.
Beautiful plants as always Daz! Got my first obesa a few weeks ago, It's in bud so I'm trying to figure out if it's male or female just to get another one of the oposite sex :D. Also wanted to ask, my Obesa had a laaarge tap root coming out of the pot, I had no option but to cut it to repot, will this be an issue for the plant's health? (I've hold watering for the last two weeks)
Thank you so much 😊 I’ve got a video on the channel on how to tell the males from the females. It’s strange for an obesa to have a taproot. From what I’ve seen and read it’s symmetrica that has the thicker more taproot like roots, while obesa has more fibrous roots. So maybe yours is actually symmetrica? How much of the taproot did you cut off? Taproots generally don’t regrow, but if you just removed a little piece of it, it should be okay. Thanks for watching and commenting 🌵☀️🌼🌸🌺🏜
That is pretty slow. But as you saw from the video a few of mine are still pretty small as well and don’t seem to have grown much at all. Thanks for watching and commenting 🌵☀️🌼🌺🏜
