BMW F850 GS Chain and Sprocket Replacement. A Simple Tutorial.

This is a quick video on how to replace the chain and sprocket on the BMW F850 GS. There's really no need to take it to the shop when you can easily do it yourself with a couple of tools.

I didn't bother with that clip on the QS I took the gear lever off the shaft. Just an alternative.

Great video, you saved me $350 bucks at the dealer. Question - If I had to replace master link (rivet type) in the field, how would I know how much is "enough"? I don't carry a caliper with me on adventures.

I think that you could just eyeball the master link pin in a field situation.

It’s not my bike, it’s a friends but I think it is the stock GS850 rally windscreen

With how many nm oder ft lbs did you tighten the front sprocket? Thanks in advance and thanks for the video.

I didn’t use a torque wrench. Just made it snug. The washer is bent around the bolt to prevent it from spinning loose, plus the rotation of the engine is counter clockwise so it will stay tight.
