@@tonyg3091 A big NO! Considering everything involved in manufacturing these bikes including so called wind tunnel and CFD testing (CFD is one of my professional skills) which absolutely not required for regular road user oriented bikes, I do not understand why any top level road user bike should cost more than $3k which currently sells for 5-7k. Even top level race bikes should not cost 15-20k but I do not mind them. Those big teams that race events can pay it no big deal. But a "good" level bike manufactured at mass costing 5-7k, now I do not understand that. If you put the labour, material, and technology it should not cost as much as that.
@@AceMBP Knowing that I have paid 7k to the frame, I will not last long due to the imminent heart attack. But yes, carbon can last long if you do not crash the bike
I really hope they have improved their paint work as the paint is chipping off my C68 ridiculously. I’m very unimpressed. For the money, you’d expect a paint job where the paint stays on the bike rather than randomly flaking off.
Completely agree! ✅ This is really annoying…I once had a great XC Mountainbike which had the same issues with the paintjob. My current (and long term) titanium XC bike with polished surface is of course FREE of issues like that 😍
You really have to buy into the name and history. I don't see much differentiation to elevate this bike over other well engineered designs. But of course I haven't ridden it so the jury is still out.
That frame belonged to me until 2018. It was originally a white Team Edition frame (colourway 12WH) and the chap who bought it from me recently had it repainted.
I was really anticipating the C68 gravel, but I'm underwhelmed with this release. There's nothing really special to note about this bike as in the past lineage of "C" bikes.
45mm is not a huge amount of clearance, it’s not really doing anything that a number of other manufacturers are offering at a better price point and arguably better manufacturing standards (Time ADX 45). Doesn’t even look better than many other brands. At £5k plus frameset I don’t see the attraction. Why bother.
It's all about one upmanship. I can afford a Colnago and you can't. The extra cost isn't reflected in extra performance. As always you pay your money and you make your choice.
$7,100 US retail for the frame only. That renders this bike completely irrelevant. It's also likely heavy (as all C series frames are) and the geometry is about five years out of date.
I have owned a G3-X since 2021 and I can attest to its ability as a top tier N+1 bike which is quite fast on or off road ( dependent on tire selection) and has several protection addons which preserve the frame integrity and aesthetics quite well. I see no such measures on the C68 at this time. I cannot fathom riding this extremely costly bike in an off road environment. I would find myself constantly pursuing the protection of this bike as a primary focus that I would not be able to enjoy the essence of riding!
Can you do a walk around pr review of the C68 all road. I’ve not seen much on it. A lot of videos and reviews of the standard c68 road and now the gravel but not much on the all road.
I like that paint job, but would that chain catcher actually do anything? I have a Red 2x chain catcher and it prevents the chain from falling into the BB, but I'm guessing that keeps it from skipping up? This very much appears to be applying for the "quiver killer" category and I rather like it.
Interesting question, should there be a price cap on bikes? There's no price cap on cars, houses, gadgets etc, but should bikes have a cap? I can't afford it but there are people driving much nice cars and living in much nicer houses than me, but I'm not bitter about that

@@davidarthur Of course bike brands can charge as much as they want, but there's clearly a limit of how much technology and cost involved in a standard/non-electric road bike. Stupid price for a basic-looking bike, ok I presumed it is assembled and painted in Italy and they don't actually make the carbon tubes. So you are paying for the name.
Nearly all carbon fibre is manufactured in Asia with companies like Toray etc - it’s like a cabinet maker buying wood from a wood supplier versus going to the woods and first cutting down a tree, which do you think is more common?
Thanks @@davidarthur, I'm aware of that as I work in the trade - I'm pointing out the fact that companies shouldn't label it "Made in xxxx" if it is not fully made in that specific country and charge for a price of a kidney for a frame set.
