Also a Sunday dinner can be quite spendy, I have started doing toad in the hole or a corned beef stew with Yorkshire pudding instead of a joint, just as enjoyable but cheaper. X
I got a relatively new Pinch of Nom book book from the charity shop for 50p. It’s got loads of fake away recipes in it. We’ve tried loads, KFC, curries, noodles. We usually do it on the weekends for a great treat at a fraction of the cost.
Great video Lizzie. It's amazing how much you can save, just shaving small amounts from your food budget on a monthly basis, it all adds up and after doing this for a while you just get used to it.
Would love to see a video of things you take with you of a day to try to save yourself cash. Things you bring so you’re prepared etc. I’m really trying to get my finances in order 😢feel like I’m fighting w myself sometimes
Great video I've realised shopping weekly lately is definitely saving money no longer thing oh just in case now I buy only what I need I've also decided to cut down on Christmas this year 😊 😊
My treat is to buy a box of coffee sachets when they are half price @ $3.80AUD for a box of 10. Cheaper at 38 cents a cup than paying $4.80 a small cup in a coffee shop.
Agreed, I also purchase coffee bags😊as a cup of coffee ☕️ in a cafe is 4.60AUD. Eating out in Australia is expensive and only done on special occasions. Interesting video 👍🇦🇺
When I decided to quit my job and needed to save some money the first thing I did was buy myself a really good flask and started taking my own coffee in with me. It paid for itself after a week and saved me a fortune. Like you say it's well worth considering how many hours you'll have to work to pay for something, it makes you think twice about habitual spending.
The biggest way we unintentionally cut our spending was going vegan/vegetarian and also no alcohol. It's been two years now and we haven't looked back, completely loving it and saving money is just a bonus. The new recipes we've found over time are delicious and I highly recommend it! We treat eating out as a very special treat about 1-2 times per year, that's it and there's usually a reason for it. No fast food, carry out, or takeaway for us. Ideas we have to make meals special, include pizza night, movie night and our anniversary or birthdays. We always make something special for these occasions and never eat out. I love your idea of putting chinese food in takeaway containers to give it that takeaway vibe, very fun! We've had movie night with homemade popcorn, and set up a display of sweets to choose from for the movie, just like when you go to the movies.
I try the 10%trick. Reduce whatever by 10%. So get a take away coffee only 10% of the time. Try to shave 10% off your grocery budget. Little savings that do really add up.
You do really well. I like those coffee sachets, save on your milk. The ones I get are in home bargains and similar shops. They are called NY and are one pound for 10 and two pound for 30. Get 10 free 😂

I have been looking into making my own flavoured creamer to put into my coffees
Good idea. The ones that they sell in the stores are very unhealthy.
