- 🚨 Grayson's 4th Ride Ever - Real, Raw Young Horse Training! 🚨
In this video, I take you behind the scenes of my stallion Grayson's fourth ride ever! This is the real deal-no polish, no shortcuts, just honest horse training.
One of the key principles in my 3 Principles Guide is to teach only one thing at a time, and today, you’ll see exactly how I apply that in Grayson’s early rides. Whether you’re working with a green horse, starting a young horse under saddle, or refining your basic horse training, this method is key to setting them up for success.
🔹 Want to learn more about training a green horse and steering a horse under saddle? Watch as I guide Grayson through the early stages of training while keeping things simple and clear for him.

I love that you show things as they are, not the edited highlights! Absolutely brilliant. Well done.
Much appreciated! 🙂
What a beauty! My daughter has been training a “started late boy” when I showed her a video from a year ago when he was learning to to go straight… she realized all the amazing progress they’ve made!
I love how you are showing us how starting a horse really is. It's not perfect, but heading in the right direction.
I can’t wait to do some more videos as he learns more. He’s my boy and he’s not going anywhere so hopefully there are a lot more to come. 🥰
I do find your explanations so easy to follow. Your breaking each step down as you do it makes it easier to follow for us green humans :)
I’m glad it helps. I know how much it helps me when I break things right down 🙂
very insightful, thank you!
I’m glad you liked it 🙂
I enjoy watching your videos. His progress after only a few rides is a reflection of how much ground work you have done with him, he did great. What a beautiful horse.
He's such a willing and kind horse 😊
Nice work, brings back memories.I started young horses for 20 years and it was always interesting .
I used to move their hindquarters to help with the turns as well.
He's looking amazing Josie! x
I just love watching your training videos. I love how patient and gentle you are with him. Keep up the great work!
Thank you very much! I appreciate your kind words 😊
So happy to see a new video! I love this foundational training. Handsome boy! ❤
I'm glad you enjoy the foundational work, it's so important 😊. Learning to teach a horse foundations taught me so much about myself and horse riding in general.
Whst a gorgeous boy! Thank you for sharing his training. It will be fun to watch him progress.
Thank you, I'm glad you like him! I’m excited for you to see him grow.
Great to see his progress. I'll be re-visiting this in a year or so for sure.
Here he is as a baby 🥰

What a beautiful horse. Lovely training video.
Thank you ☺️
Glad to see your video after a very long time
Thank you 😊
Grayson is absolutely stunning! Love that you leave the little bumps in your videos and also your kind and patient teaching.
He seems yo be having some trouble with the bit. Will that smooth out as he gains more experience ?
He will be fine with the bit. He doesn’t understand what it is all about and that is normal. You will get to see his progress over the next few months 🙂. First they just carry the bit and I ask simple turn and stop from it. The next step is to help him to “accept” a very light connection. Then we work on going “on the bit”. This takes as long as it takes. Each horse is different and I take as long as they need. I will endeavour to put videos out along the way 🙂
I'm so happy to see this video. Nice riding - and great to smile at things Grayson does that my young horse also does (like try to grab the rein in his mouth).
He is a cheeky colt 😆.
