In this video I review the Harbor Freight Multifunction Oscillating Multi-tool. This video is a Buyer's Guide since I will be looking at all 3 models available currently and discussing the pros and cons of each model. I will explain which one I think is the better choice but ultimately you have to decide which one is best for you! Hopefully as I go through the features it will help you make a more informed purchase. Any questions or comments add them below and I'll be happy to address them.
I just paid $16.84 for the Variable Speed, 2.1 Amp, oscillatingMultitool with the 7 piece kit at Walmart and Harbor Freight wants $34.95 at this time. Found this while taking your sanding pad advice. Saved a bunch. Thanks
I too have noticed that Walmart is making some really good tools with their HyperTough line, and cheaper than Harbor Freight as you mentioned. I will be reviewing some of their tools in the near future since I am all about the best bang for the buck.
I returned the one from Harbor Freight and bought the one from Walmart. Good Call @AO Metal Art.
I just went to Walmart it’s for 19.99 , 7 pieces so I will return the one from harbor freight it only have just the one tool
I bought one years ago, I bought the higher end one for $40. It was green and came with all the accessories and a case!
this must be harbor freights best seller... for the price you can't beat it... I have used one for about a year with no problems and it's still cutting as well as my newer ridgid
I'm a 53yr Oldman, and have many tools 🔧 in my arsenal!!! I bought my HF Oscillator for $10 bucks, gotta love those coupons of old.
I'll tell you what's Up, those dual rotation mini saws can cut some Shiiiiiit Up like, a Hot knife 🔪 going through butter 🧈, it really comes down to the right tool 🔧 for the task @ hand!!!
Thank you for yout info as a lady Im learnig how to use tool to paint a door but need to sand first
If you ever get a chance to, check out the Hercules oscillating multi tool, just picked it up, pretty good quality multi tool, a tad pricey for the usual harbor freight pricing, but well worth it..
Just use a saw for cutting like that. Those are nice for cutting door trim for tile projects
I've had to replace switches in a couple harbor freight tools, otherwise they've been solid workhorses.. cheap fixes. Great video 👍👍
Very informative. Thanks
just found your site.i like it thanks so much
I bought the sanding attachment with pads on Amazon for $20.
Heavier doesn't necessarily mean better.cll components. I have no idea about this tool specifically, but lot of times manufacturers will actually put dummy weights inside products to make them feel more substantial.
THe issue that I have is that I used the sander attachment one time and now none of the hook and loolp sanding pads will still to it any longer
Yeah, HF stuff can be rather poor quality in some situations. Get a new pad from a different manufacturer and you will have much better results. The parts are universal fit, so any vendor will do.
I wanted to see how to change the cutting blades but you skipped that part
It look like that one and my did come with extra at Walmart
ggod review thank you very much
I’m about to order a package of 66 different attachments from a generic vender. They say they fit Black & Decker Bosch Craftsman Dewalt. They look just like the ones that came with my Chicago Electric. The only difference is they are quick release blades. I watched another video that had the same quick release blades on the tool. Would you buy the package deal or stick with single non quick release blades?
I have never used a quick release on mine so I can't say if it will work or not. I would suggest before making a decision, you contact the vendor and ask if 1- Will it fit the Harbor Freight tool, and 2- If it doesn't fit, can you return it for a FULL refund. That should give you safe way to deal with this decision. If you decide not to buy this set, go check out Walmart, they have good prices on attachments for these and they always take things back if it doesn't work out.
Modern DIY Projects thank you & have a phenomenal day!
I own that same oscillating tool I was wondering if anyone see the similarities to the Fein multimaster the old one i wonder if i found one cheap with a dead motor would the front end fit this one because of because of similar look
That is a tough question. The look on the exterior may be the same but I can't say if the internals are the same.
hey i liked your vid very good...i have a problem with my my unit i have the varitable speed on...and the trouble is the cap screw comes loose when i start to use the tool...i even put a lock washer on and it still comes off....any sugestions
You really need to crank it down for it to stay. If it continues you may want to return it for another one.
I jast got one last week
I read this title too fast and thought they released an oscilloscope 🤣
I've beat the #$&@ out of this tool and it's still running. Bulky though.
That is true! Like the old Craftman power tools, very bulky.
It doesn’t come with anything just bought one
They keep taking stuff out to save money.
