mahalo (mah ha low) as we say here in hawaiii which means ty. im glad at least the crackle worked lol! my husband loves both BUT he loves loves "jambone"
I love your tray, my husband loves football too, Miami Dolphins though. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s 2 years ago and I had a traumatic brain injury years ago and he was my caregiver. Now I am his. I read your bio. You did a great job.
Pouring a clear coat is an excellent plan. It's usually best to let that at least mostly cure before adding the rest. For a geode effect, you usually want to put in lines and barriers on the clear coat, so texture pastes and glitter glues are very common. Another trick is to use craft glue or hot glue as a barrier, and peel it off after your second coat cures. This puts in negative space to fill with the back coat. Honestly though, I think you did a great job! If you don't like the back, paint it or cover it in felt, so that it doesn't scratch countertops ;) Nobody will see it again.
Nice crackle, and I love the colour. Adding the stickers and Cricut made details worked well. The little dog is adorable too. Impressive for your first resin piece!
ty!! Although I was going for crackle on 1 side and a geo on the other. Not sure what I did wrong BUT im happy that it worked out at least 50% lol lol. I agree "Jambone" is pretty adorable! My husband loved both of them (although I think he wouldve loved them even if they turned out horrible just because I made them for him lol) I know I will get better with practice. Ive got a LOT of watch hrs in watching everyones videos lol! ty again for allowing me to join in!
Dawn what a wonderful project, well done! The crackle is so good, well done! Lovely to listen to your tutorial, especially with those lovely noises in the background. So great to be part of this collaboration with you. Subscribed! Erin.
Very well done. Especially if you're brand new to this! It takes quite a bit of courage to show a new hobby to the world. It's actually nice to see someone learning. The majority of people are so polished. This is the real deal.
I am def a newbie this was my very first pour. ive never even had any "practice" pours! I know the more practice the better I will get. It will be cool to watch how I progress thru the projects.
Aloha Dawn, you did a great job on your first project 💖 It crackled great and the dog turned out soooo cute 😍 By the way, I love the sounds the animals make in the background 🐕🐓🐦🐦Best wishes to Hawaii 🫶
RIGHT! and it can get quite ugly in my house during FB season (im a bucs fan and he is a bengals fan) if our teams play against ech other lol. Which they did in preseason and of course we won! And he did love it that and his lil "Jambone" (have no idea where he came up with that name BUT my husband is far from the "normal" type of men..more like a DONT put him on speaker phone kinda men lol! Thanks for the compliment and the comment! Appreciate you! Aloha!
yep not sure how my husband came up with that name lol! He did turn out adorable! TY Being away from any type of fall weather for 17 yrs (moved from oh to HI) I had a HARD time coming up with something and then 1 night it hit me lol!
ty! Those chirping like sounds are actually coqui frogs they are about the size of a penny. And I agree! Most locals cant stand them but my husband and I have found them super relaxing every since we moved here. To the point that when we are on a different island where you don't really hear them we miss the sound (they really get chirping loud after it rains like right now they are super loud) I remember when we first moved here they relaxed us soooo much they were like a lullaby to our ears lol.
I am proud I at least accomplished the crackle!! was attempting the geod/crackle effect BUT hey 50% achieved is better than 0% achieved (im a half glass full kinda gal lol) He is SUPER adorable! He was smaller than I expected when he arrived but I was totally ok with it and I havnt seen anyone mold him yet!! My husband loves his lil "Jambone" I do wish tho the lil shades worked for him cause he wouldve been a cool pup lol Im gunna see if they make that style in a larger size..heres to hoping!
