Supreme Court On EVM | Poll Body Revises Protocol To Handle EVM Units After Supreme Court Order

The Election Commission has tweaked the protocol for handling and storage of SLU, symbol loading units, following the directions of the Supreme Court which had ordered that the machines should be sealed and secured in a container and stored in a strongroom along with the EVMs at least for 45 days post the declaration of results.

It is grossly uncivil, undemocratic and politically or personally motivated to abuse the judges personally and to cast aspersions on them whenever an order is unfavourable and to shower accolades on them whenever an order is favourable. If one distrusts the courts and the judges, why one should approach the courts at all? When the courts issue orders, one is legally obliged to accept it meekly or appeal it and one has no legal rights to hurl personal abuses on the judges and the constitutional institution. Such a one undermines and puts an axe on the roots of democracy and the foundation of constitution.
