  • Justice Jasti Chelameswar, the second most senior judge in the Supreme Court, has retired on Friday. He was one of the four judges who, in January, had questioned the way cases are assigned in the Supreme Court. He has said he will not take any employment from the government after his retirement. On whether going for the press conference was a move he would look back and see in a different light, Justice Chelameswar told NDTV: "No, I don't repent."

Nice person, he is the first person to inform people about modi & Amit shah intervention in their judicial matters.

Justice Chelameswar was the sole judge to record his dissent against the collegium system and to support the National Judicial Appointment Commission (NJAC) as a better alternative
Further Judges are root cause of corruption in this country, they rejected the verdict of people by turning down NJAC. They want full autonomy so no one will raise question and action against the widespread corruption in judiciary, they want to go on summer vacation like school kids while lakhs of innocent people in jails awaiting justice and lakhs of civil suits are pending in courts. Many of them enjoying on inquiry commissions appointed by high and supreme court where retired judges are enjoying their retirement from decades on public money. Judiciary is against Modi because he wants to bring refinement and transparency so judges will get back to work and there would be system based on merit and efficiency not on seniority. shame on you judiciary, you were created to work for people and not enjoy on public money.

Vaikunth Shenoy not only judge's Mr., All corrupt politicians also enjoying our whole public money, after demonetization & gst people are suffering to lead their life but whereas politicians making lot of money in our people paid taxes, Amit shah son property has grown like 16000 times more after he became president of BJP, so many corrupters are there in bjp, what action your modi has taken, instead every corrupters are getting clean chit from CBI, you are talking about judges, you are talking about transparent of modi altitude, ok then let him tell & give bjp party funding details, how much he is receiving from corporate businesses, let him also give that a/c to public, let him explain how much he is spending on bjp IT cell every month, what is the expenses of it, from where he is getting money to maintain the same, people are not fools to listen to your cooked up stories, people can analyse & understand everything, better you understand it.

    I totally loved this interview.
Unlike his other interviews, with Karan Thapar and Rajdeep Sardesai, in this one the interviewer had done his background reading well, asked clear questions, did not pester him, allowed Justice Chelameswar to speak as much as he wanted, about what he wanted.
Justice Chelameswar is a pleasure to listen to, simply due to the clear manner in which he thinks, analyses and speaks.

This is what I think is right as a common man with not much knowledge of the law.
If I am a party to a matter that comes before the Supreme Court, perhaps a single judge or a bench of judges, I want judges who aren't formally tasked to adjudicate to have their view know to me as well.
Ultimately, the final task to enforce the decision lies with the enforcer.
So, even if the Judges may not have been successful in convincing the enforcers, to act in my favour, I would still be able to retain my confidence and respect for the Judges for their decision.
I'd take a beating from the enforcer, and yet look up to Justice Chelameshwar.
Does that sound fair & reasonable?

THANK GOD, AT LEAST IN HIS LAST INTERVIEW TO INDIA TODAY WITH RAJDEEP SARDESAI AND NOW IN NDTV , HE CLEARLY SAYS, THAT INFAMOUS PRESS CONFERENCE OF 4 JUDGES WAS NOTHING TO DO WITH JUSTICE LOYA CASE . NOW NDTV AND MANY OTHER CHANELS WASTED A LOT OF ENERGY THAT TIME TO LINK THE PRESS CONFERENCE AND LOYA CASE. NOW THEY LOST THEIR PLOT.

Chelmeshwar sir,,since in press conference held by you including other senior colleagues judges of Supreme Court demonstrably said that the democracy is in danger,,it becomes your constitutional duty to tell the peoples of this country as to from whom the democracy is in danger in ordinary language of the common peoples of this country,,otherwise your statements will be called as hoax,,which is an unfinished task,,Advocate Bankim kulshreshtha

The 4 judges of the Supreme Court of India set a very bad example by going public with their grievances against CJI Dipak Mishra in Jan 2018. They have disrespected the position of CJI and should have been thrown out.

I THINK A JUDGE OF SC SHOULD NOT MAKE A PUBLIC INTERVIEW ON HIS INTERNAL PROBLEM. A BAD PRACTICE HAS BEEN STARTED AND TOMORROW ANOTHER JUDGE, INFLUENCED BY OTHER POLITICAL PARTIES CAN TAKE SUCH STEPS AND GET SUPPORT OF SOME OTHE POLITICAL PARTY.

zain syed ,I HAVE ALREADY SAID THAT IF FUTURE, OTHER JUDGE CAN MAKE A PUBLIC INTERVIEW FOR SOME OTHER REASONS AND THAT WOULD BE SUPPORTED BY SOME OTHER POLITICAL PARTY WHO WOULD BE UNSATISFIED BY SOME COURT DECISION.
