Thank you for show us the Asagaya Tamabata Festival. The decorations that are hanging from the ceiling reminds me of Spanish culture, where they hang candy filled pinatas and the kids tries to break them with a stick. The shopping center looks diverse with many different cultures.
@@NorthViewMoto The Tanabata Festival in Asagaya was started to liven up the shopping district during its quiet season. Shopkeepers and other members of the public also participate in making various decorations, and awards are given to the best-made ones.🏆 It was my first time to see it, and I was surprised to find it more crowded than I expected.😳
22:36 天の川🌌Milky Way wagashi! Great one for Tanabata, the festival that is about Milky Way. 26:20 it seems Sasebo burger is popular for festivals 🍔 48:0749:50 🌞the sunshine from the cross roads... it's making some great pictures.
As I get older, for some reason I've come to like Japanese sweets more and more than Western sweets.🙄 There are Japanese sweets that express flowers, water, etc. depending on the season, and it's fun just looking at them.☺️✨ I was surprised to see so many people on a weekday afternoon! The weather was just right, not too hot.🌤️
Thank You, used to live in Asagaya in the 90s ,only MacDonald is at same spot, there used to be some nice bars around, Rickys , gangster, Manhattan, Uramado, gangjaya , Monk s cafe......if anyone recalls too
@@davidtongmusic I remember you said you lived in Asagaya. ☺️ Is Manhattan a jazz bar? It looks like a nice store. Asagaya also holds jazz events every year.😀🎷
oh! I thought most of Japan uses Western calendar for Tanabata. Wikipedia says it's moved from the old agricultural calendar(天保暦(てんぽうれき)) to western calendar(Gregorian calendar) after Meiji ishin. some places still carry on using the agricultural calendar for it, apparently like Asagaya Tanabata festival. which 7/7 on agricultural calendar this year is August 10th on western calendar. Thank you for a walk through the event ヽ(✿゚▽゚)ノ Happy Tanabata 🌌
I feel like the Asagaya Tanabata Festival is held around this time every year, but I wonder if it was decided based on the 天保暦. I didn't know.😯 Thank you for teaching me !
@@sozorowalk do you consider Tanabata a Valentine's Day? In Taiwan, Tanabata (七夕Qixi) is considered Valentine's Day. While the Valentine's Day on 2/14 is considered the "Western Valentine's Day"
@@mthsuTanabata in Japan is completely different from Valentine's Day. In Japan, Valentine's Day is a day when women express their feelings to their loved ones with chocolate.❤ It is said that on Tanabata day, if you write your wishes on strips of paper and hang them on bamboo leaves, your wishes will come true. 41:49
