A cow is my problem at the moment, apparently the money I have for a sapphire cosworth is better spent on the house according to her 😂

The Newt thing is a great example of the levels of incompetence at within government and local councils. Common sense just goes out of the window.

Richard did you know that Newts are sentient creatures; that is, they are self-aware and capable of forming bonds with humans. If you get your newt as a youngster, you'll find that it develops a very special bond with you over time.

Such a good point that Newts don’t actually pay tax Richard

We had a main road out of our town closed for 3 years due to badgers. They had to completely re build the road with a bridge that went over the badgers set. Who paid for that tax payer not the badgers!

We do not need 1.5 million new home! What we need is a Britain first mentality that stops overseas property investors buying up lots of properties (think the new East End of London and the City where most properties are being snapped up by foreigners as a speculative investment). What I would support is, like Spain is proposing, is a 100% tax on properties bought in the UK by anyone outside of the UK. I wonder just how many of the AirB&B’s would become available for housing? I live in the garden of England which has been on a house building spree for many years now so much so that it is now being referred to as the patio of England. I have had enough of this incompetent and corrupt government ruining our country. Soon there will be a backlash. If not then I will be joining the list of people leaving. As Starmer said, “if you don’t like it then the door is open”.

Most of the houses we had, we put a pond in. Then from wherever wildlife would come and live in it, we did have a newts in one of them.

What if the bat's a homing bat & comes back?
Do they require you to pay out again?
If so, you're missing a great business opportunity by rehoming the bats multiple times.

I think a good career choice if you’re young may be a ‘newt survey inspector’🤣…regarding speeding..let’s all move to the Isle of Man..has tax benefits as well 👍

Welcome to possibly one of the most frustrating, annoying and legally binding requirement in the UK today, namely Planning regulations and restrictions. In particular those relating to ecological assessment/surveys which if required are littered with numerous hoops and limbo bars you will inevitably be forced to negotiate. As you are no doubt discovering these all attract potentially frightening costs even before ground is ever broken to actually start building something in the UK today. My heart goes out to you and fingers crossed your project runs smoothly and without too many hurdles placed in your way. I fear it will be a very steep learning curve for those who thankfully have not had to experience the process before!
Clearly planning regulations are required to provide a measure of control and prevent unabated and/or inappropriate development, but the ecological protections are vast, wide reaching and can be crippling in some cases. Have the protection scales tip too far towards the so called endangered species, that here in the UK at least appear to be thriving in considerable numbers and would likely continue to do so even with a relaxation of the laws and less onerous mitigation rules? Apologies for the lengthy comment again, I will continue to view your channel, but comment less or with greater breavity🤞👍
