This is worrying when our Government says it's about the safety of the public I do not believe a word, they don't give a toss about the public and have proved it on many occasions!! it's about state control and using the motorist as a cash cow..

I think you need a part 3 video where you have researched all the things that we could be fined for when driving. For example what if you are eating a sandwich or drinking a coffee, or using your phone as sat nav while in a cradle. might be worth having the black belt barrister on for interview.

    Great interview.
AI cameras is a slippery slope. At one end is the desirability to get drivers off the road who are under the influence of drink or drugs, but it isn't long before our freedom gets infringed by the surveillance. Once the technology is installed, politicians and bureaucrats will use it for other things justified by 'the common good'.

This exchange is terrifying. Witnessing two seemingly smart people advocating for "more surveillance, more control", in a country where you already have an insane amount of nannying and oversee from the government. "Can a camera detect if someone is on drug" is such a slippery slope.

If you’re out and about, yes, it can, through what’s called “gait analysis”.
The cloud will eventually have thousands of hours of you, walking around. It knows your normal range of gait variation.
Deviation will be detected & evaluated.

This is the slippery slope of not being able to move or do anything anytime without being watched & controlled - goodbye freedom ! Of course this guy wants it , Its his living. He'll probably live on his own personal Island without any cameras whilst the rest of us peasants are doomed ...

I hear you loud and clear and share your concerns and i stress i'm not selling you anything here, just informing you, and i do a heap of work on how we can better regulate AI and protect our privacy,...i'm on your side. And If we look to China, they are a full blown surveillance society and AI plays a major role in running that. People are socially scored and AI cameras (a system call SharpEyes) tracks and score peoples behaviour,. Its outrageous but the point is the technology is already here and we're better informed than blinded by it.
And let me tell you there is no way I'm putting cameras up on my private island.

Good to see someone talking about AI who isn't hyping its capabilities. The big issues with current systems is how to cleanse the huge sets of data needed to avoid GIGO, and how to reduce power consumption of the super computers needed to run the software. It won't be long before the free services start charging customers to use them. It will be interesting to see how the cost/benefit equation works out.

    • @thefutureofusAntMorse
      @thefutureofusAntMorse 2 дні тому

Thank you and 100% agree on the use of synthetic data is going to cause us problems for sure, but on the plus side it will keep us humans in the loop for longer as it will be so error prone (as you say GIGO) and the power consumption will have to go nuclear as the only viable option. And if we do another video on this, i will talk a little more about the free services moving to paid which plays back to the data challenge as well, you are spot on.

Agree with these types of cameras, if you have nothing to hide then it doesn’t bother me. If it makes an after world and it’s a deterrent for illegal activity that can’t be a bad thing.
I live on a main road, my home office is on the first floor and I often just look out on the world going past and I can tell you the amount of van or lorry drivers using their phones or no seatbelts as they go past. And we are near a zebra crossing that has kids run over before by drivers, both van drivers actually. Probably texting the next job.
What is concerning is AI taking over and pretending to be someone or scammers using it to their advantage.
    Great series btw

AI is not a panacea to driving safety. IMO here is the oxymoron, you can be prosecuted for certain actions in a car that are considered to take away your attention and cause you be distracted, fair enough. But then we introduce more and more ‘driver aids’ that for many drivers will also reduce their attention to a point that some will rely on for example ‘intelligent cruise control’ and the like in the car to automatically brake for them to stop rather than braking themselves. The problem being the driver is ultimately responsible and technology fails or interprets things wrongly. Automatous driving should never be legal in the UK in my opinion. As for your deer problem, there are other more pragmatic and effective solutions to stop the problem, none of them needing an ineffective AI generated warning. Fencing and crossings, controlling deer numbers and locations, road lighting etc etc. I understand that it is in this guy’s interest to promote the benefits of AI, but for all its apparent advantages, some of which are good although many noted hear are so mundane as frankly to be unnecessary. There are significant disadvantages, one is widespread monitoring, surveillance another is any compulsory aspect to online transactions and introduction of central banking digital movement etc🤔😩 Although likely to be far more reaching, it does remind of the other absolutely essential business necessities like ISO 9000, the millennium bug or Y2K bug measures and many IT solutions that provide answers to problems that never existed whilst simultaneously failing to solve the fundamental problem they were brought into solve. The old adage of just because you can doesn’t mean you should was possibly never more apt!

@@ChallengetheroadI agree, its in everyone’s interest to know about AI and how it will impact and influence our lives. But as a subject for youtube vlogs, it could go the way of many EV v ICE and the climate cultism topics and get very tedious and repetitive quickly, particularly if we only hear the salesman’s point of view. Technology is a wonderful thing if applied/limited to your personal requirements, but i seem to remember that they said that with the advent of fax machines, then PCs and the like, it would make our businesses and all our lives simpler and we could get much more done, forgetting or ignoring that any advantages and time saved is just filled with more, sometimes different, problems🤔

@@anthony208My research informs me that along with other technologies, AI is going to play an absolutely central role in a digital, totalitarian control system.
It’s blindingly obvious that such capabilities are within easy reach.
Digital biometric ID, cashless CBDC are around the corner.
With a whirr, human freedoms will wink out of existence, forever.
Because the people pushing this operate above the level of nation. They’re not interested in our opinions and they also know that democracy is a sham.
