Baby is my favorite character. He has a soft, cute voice, and he's very precocious for his age, but he's a real wise acre! I wonder if Baby likes "The Ugly Duckling" or if he'd make Paul change it. Baby's going to be a very good beta reader when he grows up. "I don't like this about your story..." "Okay, now that you've changed it, it's just not working for me because your original message is lost..." Maybe he can get into developmental editing if he keeps at it. I also loved the videos where he plays "I Spy" and sings the alphabet song, and I love his reactions to nursery rhymes (especially with Sam's commentary)! I love how he thinks lullabies and baby talk are pathetic, and I couldn't stop laughing at the clip of "America's Got Talent" where Baby thought Howie was a mirror or his father. The video where Baby learns a new word reminds me of how children in real life pick up on certain words at an early age, so I laughed a lot harder than I should have. Paul does well with all his puppets, but I especially love how he hits just the right balance with Baby. About the time I think Baby is so adorable, and I want to give him a hug like he was a real baby, then he does something off the wall obnoxious. Then about the time I think Baby is a little pest, he does something that makes me want to comfort him because he's so sweet.
Are Sam and Baby related? Sam looks like he's just a kid, but he can hold his own talking with adults; he's a precocious wise acre like Baby. Sam reminds me a bit of Elmo from "Sesame Street"...if Elmo had a slightly different brand of humor. He has a lot of great lines.
I like Albert too. I just favor Baby and Sam because Albert reminds me of my father so much that I truly sense the frustration Paul is trying to portray when Albert either can't hear him or doesn't have the first clue what's happening in the conversation. I think it would be hilarious if Paul Zerdin and Jeff Dunham ever got together to make Albert and Walter talk to each other.
Of course, it's always lovely when Paul pretends to read minds. I think if I were ever in the audience, that would be one of my favorite parts of the show, especially if he put his hand over my head. And it's always great when he turns to volunteers into living dummies and makes them dance and shake their booties. If I were a "ventricolee," I would totally try those stunts where you pretend a banana is a cell phone or like someone's trapped in a mailbox, but I'm not that talented.
Sorry for the long comment. I've just been watching a lot of Paul Zerdin videos lately, and I was just thinking, "This is hilarious, and I love Baby! Maybe I should say something."
