I believe it could be. For me my first rib dysfunction causes all types of problems in my neck. It’s usually an achy strong tension pulling feeling which pulls your joints and muscles out of alignment as your neck tries to support you.

I think I understand. There is a serrat posterior superior, as well as anterior. If Superior, then it often runs on the back of the thoracic spine but not under the clavical. Serratus Anterior will run and attach to the ribs.
You don’t elevate first rib with shrug unless you have forward head posture. It should be upper trap driving the motion which is attached to the clavicle.
There is no one muscle that creates a pure motion. You're right, when you shrug you elevate the shoulder and clavicle, but there are other muscles such as the scalenes, SCM, that contribute to rib and shoulder girdle movement.
@@DrJoshJagoda If it doesn't support clavicle why the first rib removes at TOS surgery? It means there is too enough space for squeezing arteries and nerves.
@@DrJoshJagoda My first rib is removed and it made significant changes in structure of my shoulder. Shoulder goes down and make tension on my neck. So if I compare with another my shoulder I can see how first rib hold my shoulder in higher position as another shoulder without first rib support.
I have had tightness in this area for years. I'm always massaging that trap area. Moreoever, this side is overworked when i exercise (weakness in shoulder and elbow - my arms are even bigger on this side). However, i recently suffered an ulnar nerve entrapment (extreme pain from behind clavicle, rhomboid and down arm to pinky numbness). Doctor thinks it's a herniation (without even examining me), but i'm convinced it's overuse in this shoulder. Any feedback would be appreciated.
When you have nerve pain like this, with pain going down the arm, its often nerve involvement. Im surprised that the doctor didn't evaluate it or talk you through it. Let us know if you have any questions

Hi! Does first rib work like a support "leg" for clavicle for keeping shoulder in the right and rest position?

@@ainars1205 do you mean your shoulder girdle is now depressed? Did the surgery solve the TOS and nerve symptoms but create more muscular discomfort?
