My nan had a golden lab in the 80's called Sam and him and his dog mate Scoobie from across the road would meet up and walk down to the park together. As in two dogs, taking themselves for a walk for up to 8 hours a day, crossing main roads... the lot!! then they would get hungry and walk back for dinner and repeat it a couple of days a week, until Scoobie moved away :(
then about 3 years later out the of the blue, scoobie was just there on my nans doorstep so they went out for one last walk together by themselves. SO CUTE

I’ve been having a tough time recently, my partner has just had brain surgery and is now recovering and I’ve just been really down. I work at a wildlife centre and let me tell you crows are lovely :) they have such a peaceful vibe AND they have a lovely smell that only the Corvid family has ;).

(As a cat owner all my life, and dogs in the family, let me explain) cats have a specific territory around the place they live, and fight other cats they see in their territory. They also have a sense of direction so they can find their way home. Dogs have a sense of territory but mostly only when it comes to smelling other dogs. (So they start to wee) They don’t have a sense of direction on their own so.... they’ll just get lost if you put them out on the street ✌️

i always wondered that about cats, i think its because they're not as domesticated as dogs, cats still have a lot of wild tendencies whereas dogs just want to be with their people :)
I totally agree with the cat thing!! I get frustrated because in a lot of areas where I live there’s signs about picking up after your dog, but no one thinks about the fact that the cats are crapping everywhere too...

Age really does become "just a number" the older one gets. I'll say that the losing ones parents, the aches & pains (which I've had since the age of eight, JRA (juvenile rheumatoid arthritis) ... all of that is completely depressing. Just hang on to one another, you've a friendship we all wish we had,,, one to be envied. P.S. Neither cats nor dogs should roam, imo. I don't want them to get hurt. :*(
