This tutorial is great! IT really clarifies how to use lockers, carry survivors and the entity token / extra turns / sabotage better than the rulebook. The rulebook is fine, but has some awkward wording. "Seeing" how it is supposed to work really helped so much!!
1st off, I LOVE this game and really like how thematic it is compared to the video game and how the perks printed on the killer kinda works with that Killer. There's a rule we got wrong early on and honestly, felt WAY more balanced, but I already realize I've only played 4 times and don't have a ton of playtesting. Not getting a sacrifice token every time someone is hooked, even if hooked again and only getting a sacrifice token on 1. Initial hook of the game for that survivor, and/or 2. Survivor is left on hook by end of the round means that lots of times, you get no sacrifice tokens even if you're hooking them over and over. Yesterday had a game with me as the Hag (important to know) where I hooked Jeff, got 1 token, then end of round, got 2nd. He got unhooked, used Breakdown perk, he rolled well, I lost a token. I now have 1 token. Someone else activated my trap and I spent BP to get them hooked, I gained 1 token since it was their first time. However, the Jeff then went (since I interupted their round in a way with my trap) and rescued him, used Breakdown, success, I now have 2 tokens total. About 2 gens are done at this point and I get another hook, but it's Jeff again and he gets rescued before my turn (again, from a trap) and so....0 sacrifice tokens even though I just hooked him again. I know this was a specific circumstance, but the game I played a week ago had a similar issue where it seemed you can REALLY EASILY rush the gens and if you get even 1-2 great success, the game is basically over before the Killer has a chance to get damage + hook on people. First time I played I thought only a 2+ was a success and honestly, the game was SUPER close and the killer barely won. I wonder if there's any official variants to try to help the killer out.
I really REALLY hope I get a second chance to buy the collector edition of level 99s website... absolutely kicking myself I didn't see the kickstarter 😢
Looking forward to getting my copy of the collector's edition, was told about late June to early July for it to arrive due to more preorders than anticipated. Otherwise it would have arrived in May. Just counting off the days.
So the carrying survivor animations also reveal a prop in each space they move through, but the rulebook and faq say that a prop is revealed "only when entering another space for any reason besides a survivor being carried". Is that wording just to clarify that it's only the killer, not the killer AND carried survivor, who reveals props along the way? I had thought that that meant that they don't get revealed at all during carrying, and I couldn't find any other clarification in the rules.
I would go with the rule book as it says it multiple times with no mistake, that’s how we’ve been playing it and it seems fair. Another thing is that items are placed face down on the survivor’s board. The survivor may choose to tell everyone what it is (as long as the killer also hears it)
@@davidv3612 It's revealing props because the KILLER is entering spaces. The SURVIVOR ENTERING THE SPACES doesn't. So, rather than TWO props being revealed (one for the Killer and one for the Survivor they're carrying), only the Killer reveals; not the Survivor being carried.

I do have some questions regarding Hooks: 1. If a survivor is unhooked, he stays injured and needs to be healed right? 2. example: if survivor 4 is hooked and gets unhooked by survivor 1 during his turn, is survivor 4 allowed to do anything when it would be his turn (after 3s turn)? or are you still disabled for the whole round? 3. I dont understand the whole sabotage mechanic. The manual states :"A hook with an Entity token on it cannot be interacted with. ... If a survivor was sacrificed on the sabotaged hook you gain a BP, then the sacrificed survivor is rescued and they are moved off the hook. You may move along any path. After this the rescued survivor may move along any path." So how can the Surv. be sacrificed on the Sabo hook when it cant even be interacted with? And when and why are booth allowed to then leave the space. Not after any rescue right? The example also states Claud rescues meg and AFTERWARDS places an entity token on the hook, gains a BP and booth move one path. Does that mean you can only Sabo after a rescue? and wouldnt rescue + sabo count as 2 interactions? how is that allowed? I really feel that part of the manual lacks a lot of explanation. great video though👍
As far as I know: 1: Yes, they stay injured and need healing. However, if they were picked up healthy (by the perks or the lockers), they stay healthy after being unhooked. 2: They are disabled, because they couldn't choose the movement card at the start of the round. As the killer's turn is after the survivor's one, in the nearest planning phase they won't be able to pick a movement card, so after being rescued they can choose which way to move one space from the hook and then flip up the prop if avaiable and use perks, but cannot do the "normal" turn. (this one is explained in the Killer Interaction pages -> in the "SACRIFICED SURVIVORS" section) 3: In this game sabotage action is actually a rescue action. So Killer put the Survivor 1 on the hook - any revealed hook that is not sabotaged yet. Then Survivor 2 can execute the action of sabotage on the hook where the Survivor 1 is hooked, which leads to the Survivor 2 getting a bloodpoint, the Survivor 1 is getting out of the hook, the hook is sabotaged (so the entity token is put on it) and the both Survivors may go any path they want and are able to. I hope I made it a bit more clear for you. I am currently reading the manual, because I have no one to play with yet, so I am trying to get with reading the rules right now 🙈
@@DesuGamer ah thank you. yea i was in the same situation yesterday i actually played a couple of solo rounds. that does work as well it just takes away the surprise moves, but learning a bit it works
@level 99 games Hey quick question is it possible to play with more than 5 players like for example if you have a large group of friends who want to play this game would that be considered legal or illegal
1) A gen with all 3 tokens gets moved off the board and can no longer be interacted with. 2) You can only move when the game tells you to. Usually if you interact with a generator, you've already moved. But if you are instructed to move later on (say you played a new card), then you HAVE to leave. This means you can't just sit and work on the same generator for multiple turns.
Question: if the killer uses his power (thus he can not interact) in his first movement card, does it mean that he cannot attack on the second move card?
They can be hooked any number of times. Each Survivor on a hook at the end of the round is worth 1 progress. Hooking a survivor the first time is worth 1 progress (this is in ADDITION to the 1 they're worth at the end of the round).
Now when he says "Perks can only be used once per round", does anyone know for a 100% fact if that means only one perk per round or each perk once per round (for a total of 3)
SOS help 1) if we have one way path or pallet or breakable wall it means that space is connected or not? 2) if MEG THOMAS use her perk adrenaline (at the start of clean up.... play again) and unhook a survivor the killer take sacrifice progres?
1) Still connected 2) The killer gets the sec progress on the Survivor's board (since you get that when you hook someone) but does not get the sac progress for the end of the round (since Adrenaline resolves before the end of the round).
So i need this to be clarified, perks can only be used once per round. Is round referring to just this turn or the entire match? So agitation for example once it was used in turn 1, can it be used in turn 2 again? Or is it now locked from the game
When saboing and unhooking, after that both survivors can move, can they interact when moving to tile? Also if example trapper uses perk agitation to move after injuring survivor, can trapper interact after using move to a tile by agitation?
No you only interact when taking a turn and moving with the movement card (or unless an effect says you interact). You don't interact after using Agitation. Attacking the healthy Survivor IS your interaction. You only get one interaction a turn.

The survivor crow interaction is pretty unclear. It says you take a bonus turn but in the rulebook it also says crow - sprint. So can you only move down a sprint path or anywhere?
The wording on bonus turns is odd. It should say, "Take a bonus turn by playing a unplaced card from your hand and following that path." If you move and then keep finding crows you can actually play all the cards out of your hand to run across the board as long as you can find the available paths to match the cards you still have in hand.
So every time its the start of the survivors turn again do they get 2 blood points again? Same for killer? Just seems a little hard to get blood points otherwise
Hello level 99 games, I have a question, I am from Mexico and I would like to buy the special collection dead by dairy board game, do you think there is a problem?
Hi Level 99! I need something clarified. If a Survivor has a sacrifice token go up to the track, then they are pulled off, do they gain another token? If so, is it possible for a Killer to just tunnel that Survivor repeatedly? Or do they run out of tokens and just accumulate sacrifice tokens whenever they are on hook for the track?
The survivors only get one token. That's a "free" token to put on the track when you hook them the first time. Then at the end of turn you add another hook token to the track from the supply pile if they are still on the hook at the end of turn. Killers don't have to tunnel anyone. Killers earn more hooks tokens each round that a survivor is still on a hook at the end of the turn
@larryroachelle7630 what i dont get is. If surv moves first then killer second. Doesnt that mean a surv thatgot hooked will alwasy be on the hook by the end of the turn. So... does that mean 2 points per round. Or we wait till the end of next round. And ifthey are still hooked, then the killer getsthe point. 🤔🤔 so confusing
Thanks for the video. I have a question, a killer wins if is being able to hook each survivor once, isn't it?, Because the first hook gives you one sacrifice token and in the end of the turn you get a second one.
That is one way to win. I've played 7 games now. More often than not, there will habitually be a survivor that is always out of reach! We've had 3 survivor wins & 4 killer wins. (We've had to remove Hillbilly from the game as he is OP with his abilities and perks)
