There used to be a BC Garn called Colori that was 55% wool, 25% linen and 20% silk and I designed myself a shrug out of it. It‘s my most-worn and -loved summer item. I still hoard a SQ of Colori in a grass green that I want to make another shirt or shrug out of. It being light fingering weight, I don‘t think they sold enough of it unfortunately.
Thanks for sharing with us, I‘m in the mood to knit myself a linen shirt now!
The Himmel cami looks heavenly as well (pun intended 😄), it’s going to land on my endless list of „to make“ projects!
Oh, that’s too bad, because I do love BC Garn. Happy to add to your “to make”
List. ;);)
Love your apt! Beautiful colors
Thank you!
Loved your knitting!!!!! ♥
Thank you!
Rowan summerlite 4 ply and DK, garn studio safran all cotton yarns and lovely to work with
Thank you for the suggestions!
Yarn I love is Cestari Sheep and Wool Company - knitting with 75% cotton and 25% wool. American made
I’ll have to look them up!
I love the outfit you are wearing. The striped Tee with the vest, beautiful! Snow has melted in South Dakota finally, I can sit on small porch and crochet afghans for my granddaughters. I destashed a lot of craft yarn when we moved. I kept cotton and wool yarn. I started a vest, hopefully I’ll finish it for summer. 💝
Thanks, Connie! It’s the first time I thought to wear it tucked into jeans. I thought it would be to bulky, but it’s not. Good luck finishing the vest!
i don't bother with provisional cast-on any more. i do judy's magic cast-on and just hold the stitches i'm not using on a spare needle or stitch holder until it's time to pick them up. much easier and no waste yarn.
Great idea. I’ll try that.
Your vest looks fabulous with that striped top!
Thanks! It’s the first time I’ve tried it!
Beautiful knitting …I love the striped tee….great plans for summer…
Thanks, Pamela! I’m knitting on the second sleeve right now!
Have you tried the Isager linen? It’s crunchy to knit with but softens beautifully on washing and has a great sheen. I made a great top by Yumiko Alexander, who has lots of linen patterns. Happy knitting!
I haven’t, but it’s readily available here- I’ll give it a try!
I love your plans for summer knits. I recommend the cami or tank with the higher neckline for comfort.
Yeah, I do like a higher neckline for sun coverage. 👍
Found cotlin from knitpicks works well for summer, especially for the style of top that I wear, then throw in washer/dryer.
Ah, cool! I’ve never had the chance to try KnitPicks. Next time my BIL comes over I’ll ask him to bring me some.
I’ve been very impressed with the Katia cotton cashmere but it’s just that tiny bit warm. I think a chainette linen is a dream!! And thank you for the knitting content 😊😊😊
I have a local store here that carries some Katia, but not the fun ones. :) I’ll keep on the lookout for a chainette linen.
@@Lisamakes interesting! Is it all the weird ones they carried when I lived in Spain!? Lol
@@littlebigknits some, yes! Lol. Mostly, it’s all the cheap ones with acrylic.
@@Lisamakes strange that they export all the good stuff!
@@littlebigknits i can get them in Bcn, but the one here is just a small mercería that mostly focuses on sewing.
Hello I live in Catalunya. Just visited Bilboa found some create yarn stores and came back with so Mundial Organic wool. Have you ever atteneded barcelona yarn festival? I'm hoping to attend this year it will be my first yarn festival,
I think one of the local Mercerías have Mundial. I’ll have to check it out. Yes! I’ve been to Barcelona Knits twice! I think it’s a great first festival because it’s not too big and overwhelming.
My favorite summer yarn is Holstgarn Coast
That reminds me, I do have a few balls of Coast in a deep brown. I’ll have swatch it up. Thanks!
Love what you are planning on knitting up Lisa - I'm going to check out all those vest top patterns now and subscribe to 'you knit toronto'.....and I need a set of the denim knit pro needles too 😊😊. Enabled! 🤣
Ha ha! Yay!!! My plan worked. :) the link for Ewe Knit is eweknit.co
I'm waiting to be buying yarn again once my stash is gone, Antigone by De Rerum Natura is in my top 3 yarns I'll buy first. An organic French linen processed in Europe (and mostly in France). I have not used it yet, so I cannot really have an opinion other than I want to knit with it from what I've seen. An beautiful array of colours 😺
Oh, yes, I’m sure it’s lovely! I do love their other yarns. I am also knitting down my stash, but I’m not quite as dedicated as you! I’ll buy a few here and there.
Lana grossa -Linea Pura (puro lino) it is nice and soft yarn for summer.
Great suggestion- thanks! I’ve loved the other Lana Grossa yarns I’ve tried.
Hi Lisa… fellow Canadian (Vancouver) and part time Estepona resident….love your channel. Thank you for the great tank top suggestions…I have added the Kuutar to my cue - beautiful. You might also like to check out the Anou tank top and the Catal Top. The Catal is a free pattern (👍). Question… when you moved to Spain did you purchase all new electronics or did you bring the sewing machine from Canada and are using an adaptor?. I am struggling with the thought of leaving my sewing machine behind as we transition to Spain full time. Thanks again and hope you all enjoyed the Easter break. Linda
Thanks for the suggestions- I’ll check them out! I bought a new machine here, but we had initially only planned to stay here for a year or so. I got a €250 Elna, which has been great! I hope your transition goes smoothly. ❤️
Enjoy your videos! I’m interested in the KnitPro short needles, but I’m having trouble finding them online. Where did you purchase yours? Thanks!!
I think in the States KnitPro is Knitter’s Pride.
I’m interested to hear your thoughts once you’re wearing the Friday tee. I hear great things about the Knitting for Olive cotton merino but I can’t get it in-person and the wool content still makes me nervous for our Southern Ontario summers!
I’ll report back! I don’t imagine it will be one I will wear in July/August, but for May/June I think it will be great.
👍🥰😍👗👗🧵
Hey I from Toronto what’s the unit torontos website? Can you link it down below while replying to me I can’t find the knitting website for their site
It’s called EweKnit- link in the description box!
I found your chanel. I like your very short explanations. Often a podcaster is talking to long about a pattern.
Thank you! Sometimes I think it’s too short, so I’m glad you like it. ;)
