    I was looking for a way to display miniature builds from the advent calendars. This looks like an ideal way to do so.
    Thanks!

    I think the idea of trimming the edges of the baseplate is fantastic, and it's brilliant that it doesn't even have to be cut cleanly! What I'm not so fond of is the background for the figures, which appears a bit busy due to the Lego studs. I would prefer a smooth, monochrome surface, even though the studs are, of course, incredibly practical.

      I would recommend to cover the studs with some tile pieces to get a smooth finish! Definitely will give you a cleaner look!

      lay a piece of paper or something over the baseplate and cut holes in it to reveal the studs where you will place the minifigures

    Looks great. How many studs deep are the frames?

    • @mazbrickz
      @mazbrickz  6 місяців тому +2

      From the white baseplate to the plastic glass, it’s about 5 studs deep. Hope this helps!

    Great video. I was sceptical cutting the plate but when you don't see rough edges I would try it.
    Could you please provide the part numbers for the parts to mount them? I am a newbie to Lego so I may search forever.

      I'm going to make a newer updated video on a sturdier piece to use. Take a look - ID 6250020/41682. It's a vertical piece that does the job way better. You can search it on LEGOs website on the Pick a Brick section! Hope this helps!

      @@mazbrickz Thanks for the quick reply. That part looks great and solid. Have to find a nice part to put my figures on (especially R2-D2), the 2x1 seems a bit narrow.

      Understandable! I think attaching additional plates like a 2x4 for support would help and act like an extension and give you more room than just the 2x1.

      @@mazbrickz Yes, that may help. Will have a closer look on the Lego website tomorrow and maybe visit the Lego store in Frankfurt on the weekend.

      I might do an update on a new version of this that would hold more minifigures. It will require new pieces being used though.
