Wow, this is the best video I've ever seen on YT! I was literally moved to tears at the end of your journey. What an incredible experience to share with the person you love through some of the most beautiful landscapes I have ever seen! The camp sites were crazy beautiful, especially the one by the rock at 18:20 and the shelter by the lake where Zoe gave us the tour! I wish I had discovered you guys sooner, I live in North Carolina just off the AT near Sam's Gap and it would have been an honor to meet you both. Thank you for sharing this trip and I look forward to reading your book! Best wishes to you both for a life of love, peace, and happiness. Take care of each other and maybe try knee pads next time! 🙃
Hi Michael! This is one of the most heartwarming comments we have ever received on our videos. Thank you so much! It has been an amazing adventure and the perfect end of our world trip. Sweden and Norway are so beautiful! It's the reason why we stay here and settle :). It would have been really nice to meet you in person! The AT was one of our highlights :). It's such a beautiful trail, completely different than any trail we have in Europe. We would love to come back and do the whole hike :). Thanks for the inspiring words and maybe we will meet somewhere! You're always welcome in Scandianvai!
Good luck to get killed on the road. That is the stupidest thing I ever saw. It is sad in my book. I'd rather roller ski on the bike path every day than to be roadkill.
I was just researching cross-country roller skis and found this video by accident - but I was riveted! Just incredible! What an adventure! What an achievement! I've completed a few challenges myself - 1,000 miles from Lands End To John O'Groats by bicycle, and every triathlon distance up to the half Iron Man (before injury struck!). But this is just beyond imagination to travel 40,000km under your own steam! The sense of achievement must be out of this world! Well done!!
Thanks a lot for the credits and beautiful words! Also what you have done, are beautiful adventures :). This roller ski adventure was fantastic! We will definitely try another one on roller skis :)
Thank you so much for this powerful statement! It means a lot to us :). For us, it's important to be ourselves, and we are happy to hear that we still are. Thanks!
I wish I was young again to do what you did. When I was young, 1963-1970 I did trips like this by bicycle from Brooklyn to Canada, south to Cape Hatteras, up through Cape Cod. Watching you in this beautiful part of the world, safe among friendly people., with stops like that roadside bakery!!! Oh how wonderful. You probably realize that even if you do more wonderful things in your lives, nothing will ever top this trip. Those lakes, those smooth rural roads, camping anywhere. It brings me joy to see you doing this.
Hi Michael!! Thank you so much for these very important words. Sometimes we forget to realize how special our four-year adventure is. While writing our book, we relive our journey :). And you're right, even if we will continue, nothing will top this trip, because nothing is as good as the first time. But we also learned that you're never too old (or too young) to do these adventures. We have seen 80-year-old men hiking the AT or families with 6-year-old children cycling in Colombia. They are our inspiration :)

Btw, one question: why did you choose roller skis over cross skates, and what even is the difference between the two, skatingwise? Or are you not that much into roller skiing?
Thanks a lot! The main reason to choose roller skis was the use of ski poles. Off course, this is possible with cross skates as well, but it feels more logical with roller skis. Also, we had a one-way bearing in the back wheel which would make it easier to go in 'classic style' uphill. During the trip we realised we never used this.

Chapeau ! Geniet van jullie verdere leven.. Blijf gewoon doen waar jullie zin in hebben 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Ha Christiaan! Dankjewel!
I suggest you set up a business doing roller skating tours in Sweden and Norge. I will be the first to sign up. Are hills difficult with those trailers?
Hi Fred! Sound like a great idea. We are thinking about letting people join us on (roller ski) micro-adventures in the future. The hills in Sweden are fine, in Norway it can be very hard.
You are amazing! 10 years ago,I met in the Danube delta a german guy travelling the entire Danube river from Germany to Romania in a canoe and I thought it was difficult, but seeing you and what you did these last few years...I think is really, really great! God bless you! from Romania
Thank you so much :)! When we see someone paddling the entire Danube river, we will still think it is very difficult. That's how the mind works probably :). Once we do it ourselves, we think 'oh, it's not so difficult'.

Blijf herinneringen maken.

Thanks Mariusz!! Indeed, everything is possible, and anybody can do it, as long as you really want it :)
Thank you for taking us along on this great adventure... you guys have a special relationship and I look forward to future endeavors.
Thanks for these words of encouragement :)
Congratulations and thanks for sharing all your adventures with us I look forward to reading your book.
Thanks Kevin! We will keep you updated on the book :)
what a great adventure ! I rollerski a lot, to get ready for winter skiing, but I have to commend you on your ability to just strap them on and go, while pulling a trailer, and having never rollerski'd before !! Luv your spirit and sense of adventure !
Thank you so much Joe! It was an incredible adventure and a little bit crazy without having experience. But, it's possible and you don't have to be an expert to start new adventures :)
Awesome! What a great adventure! Thank you for sharing! You are an inspiration! I really enjoyed your resilience and strength facing events you could not control. 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️!
Hi Marc! Thank you so much for these encouraging words! This inspires us to continue :)
Wow guys, what an adventure!! Well done to both of you for completing it and thank you so much for sharing your adventure with us! The video work was outstanding!
Thanks for these beautiful words :)! It has been an amazing adventure and we are so happy with all the positive and motivating responses people give us! Groeten uit Zweden :)
Moc krásné video krásná příroda díky přeji vám hodně štěstí a zdravý na cestách ❤️👍👍👍🏕🌞váš fanda Eduard 🇨🇿🚵♂️👍
Thanks Eduard!
Fantastic video and a wonderful journey, thanks for sharing.
Thanks Nigel :)!
Wonderful tale. The only other story I know of is Robin Bryntesson who roller skied 1000 km through Sweden (though not with a trailer in tow) to raise awareness of children with diabetes and sports.
We never heard of him, but found his story on Google now. Thanks!
You are an inspiration. The video is beautiful, expressive and peaceful. I feel blessed that we had the opportunity to meet you along your journey and offer you a safe spot to camp for the night. Thanks for sharing your incredible journey with us. I'll look forward to reading your book.
He Bill! Thanks for the beautiful words :)! We will never forget the evening at Lake Champlain. It's still one of our most beautiful views we had with the tent. We will keep you updated on our book. It should be finished in summer.
Hee! Thanks you so much! Well, you should try a short trip on roller skis ;). Maybe with a backpack and not too far, but it's a special experience to travel this way. Thanks for the beautiful words!
How did they pack so much stuff!!! Ah they got a whole cabin in that trailer. Axe chair and everything
Hahahha, a whole cabin :p. We were on a long world trip, so we had more gear than on a normal short trip. We also carried camera gear, a laptop, an aluminum stove and a lot of food :)
Very cool adventure. Well shot too. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks :)!
Guys you are so amazing! Thank you for granting a glimpse of your journey!
Let your travels never got to the end. Be a traveler not a tourist - I think this is the way.
Our world is huge, people shell travel and be connected to it and to each other.
It's huge really and inspiring.
Thank you so much for these inspiring words!! We will keep going, we don't know how, but we will :). Our trip wasn't an escape but a next step in life, so there is no returning to a previous life, only continuing to new adventures :)
I usually do it's bad for April, since the ski season is ..., but now I see that the season does not end, and quite the opposite, it continues, moreover, the beyond prospects are opened ...) right after breakfast will begin to search for the necessary sports equipment and .... on the way!) Thanks for the motivating words!! Here we had 20 centimeters of snow this morning, so winter continues as well :). We also are will search our skis and go for a tour this morning :). Enjoy!!
@@WeLeaf You are twice happy 👍💪❤
Greetings from the Northern Cascades of Washington State. What an epic trip, and videography! Bravo Indeed!! Blessings for you two on your new adventures.
Hi Ron! Thanks a lot for the kind words! It was an epic trip and probably the most enduring thing we did during our world trip :). Greetings from Norway!
Super Amazing ! I'm also a Skiroller Athlet , i know what this big Trip means to your bodies ! Respect .
Thanks a lot! It is an amazing workout for the body :). We were definitely fit afterwards!
I just found your channel and I'm so glad I did! I can't wait to watch the whole adventure!
Thank you so much for this motivating message! We are also glad that you found us :))
Well done, you two.olivier pushed his feet out a lot, which is very hard work.what a great challenge and adventure.
Thanks! Can you explain what you mean with "pushing his feet out a lot"?
@@WeLeaf sure;Olivier's stance is causing his feet to push the skate out a few degrees, creating a lot of hard work for him.strong man! Love your adventure.
@@micksoden7064 We will have to work on that :). Thanks for the feedback!
What a great way to get around and brave to take on such a challenge!
Thanks Martin :)! Roller skiing is fantastic. Hopefully more people will discover this way of travelling!
Chapeau ! Geniet van jullie verdere leven.. Blijf gewoon doen waar jullie zin in hebben 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Ha Christiaan! Dankjewel!
Awesome, thanks for sharing!
You're welcome, thanks!!
Absolutely wonderful! You are both truly inspiring.
Thanks Alain :)
I like to rollerski but 3,300 kilometers strapped to a trailer is whole new level of workout. Great editing too.
It's a great workout indeed! We definitely felt fit after 3.300 kilometers :)
Wow wow wow. Amazing video, adventure and people. 👍👍👍
Thanks Iwan :)!
What a great video and good story. Thank you.
Thanks Hermann!
Merci beaucoup Lucien!!
Cool...thx for sharing..interesting way to get around ..
It's a beautiful way to travel! We hope more people get inspired to try this :)
Wooow!! What a great adventure!
Fantastic Video, as always, and a great motivation for everybody who loves to be outdoors!
I am looking forward to your book. Enjoy your time in sweden! Cheers
Thanks Sven!! Beautiful words for us :)
Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for sharing your adventure with the world. What a great epic end to your self-propelled trip. I am jealous that this was not me.
The video and artistic quality of your video was outsanding. I dont know how you did this all with your limted equipment. You have an eye for the artistic shots. I loved the shots of the lakes throughout. The drone work was also beautifully shot. I look forward to going back through your other adventures.
Thank you again.
Thanks for this beautiful comment! It we look back at it, we are also surprised how we did it :p. It's always a lot of work, but the end result and the memory is worth all the effort :)
Wonderful work. Inspirational.
Thanks William!
Magnifique aventure, quel courage!
Merci bien!!
super and very nice trip ! and congrats for the raincut you put on your roller ;-) I'am jealous !
Thanks! It was a very special adventure. The fenders are Zoë's invention. She used a plastic cone that the firemen gave her :)
Amazing! Congratulations, such a great story. Thanks for sharing
Thanks Mirko :)! We are happy to share our adventures and even happier when we can inspire others :)
Zoya and Olivier you are even tough! The video is just a bimba !!! Goosebumps from watching. It's good when there are such like-minded people. Good luck with your adventures. Like :)
Hi Lens! Thank you so much for the encouraging words, this means a lot to us :). We just finished another 5 day roller ski micro adventure. So much fun!
This is great! I was looking for a trailer for a similar trip across Canada and your brake DIY seems perfect? Anything you would change about the trailer and harness?
Happy to hear you found what you needed! Yes, we are very happy with the system we have chosen and developed. Nope honestly we would co exactly the way we left. I might make a manual for people to make the system for them selves, since so many like it!
Heel inspirerend
Dankjewel Peter! Nog veel leesplezier in ons boek :)
I'm really shocked!!!!! This is the dream of my life!!!! Do not give up!!!!
Well, if it's your dream, you have to do it! Go for it :)
This was an incredible video and huge success on your recent expedition. What a magnificent trip and we shall look forward to seeing your next adventure. Having lived in Sweden I can wholeheartedly see why you fell in love with the place.
Thanks you so much for the kind words! We are still looking for our own place in Norway (although Sweden is still on our radar). Both countries have so much to offer!
LG
Danke!! We are super happy with our Powerslide frame ;). We used an older model of their frames. It probably broke because all the excess weight we had in the trailer. We will never know if another brand would have lasted longer, but I don't think we will test it the same way ;). They already sent us a new frame.
@@WeLeaf No, he is right, I have started Roller Skiing on a Skike which broke only a few months after I got it. I have switched to SRB, and they are fantastic. I ´m almost two meters in height and more that 90 kgs, and they just keep going without a problem
@@gundisrambo9054 Thanks for the feedback! For now we will continue on the Powerslide skates, but it's good to know some alternatives, just in case :)
@@WeLeaf I used to work for Kelty Packs, with their tubular aluminium pack frames. After every summer we would get broken ones in the mail! I was the guy who mailed them a new one, I had no qualms about doing that as the bare frame cost us only $5 I think! We would hang the broken ones from the ceiling like a mobile. Many of the broken ones were used on the Appalachian trail.
@@chesslerbooks Hi Michael! Great story :). The company, Powerslide, has been supportive and provided us with all the necessary gear and spare parts all the time. We will contact you when we have our book ready!
Great video, I loved it. You two are awesome people!
Thank you so much :)!!!
what an amazing journey! thank you for sharing it.
Thanks, you're welcome Victor :)!
Thanks for sharing this great story!
You're welcome Felix!
What a beautiful part of the world in which to finish the adventure. You guys did a great job putting this final video together. Congratulations on completing your world tour and best of luck on your book!
Thanks Gary! It's always a lot of work, but we are happy with the result :)
Awesome. I use Skikes. I fell in love with Skiing at 40 and I have been doing it in the summer. I absolutely love it.
Great! We never tried Skikes, and wonder if they are easier than the longer roller skis. Did you try?
@@WeLeaf I have never tried the PowerSlide so I can't compare them. The main benefit I guess is that you can use any comfortable shoes with them.
@@alabudzki74 Definitely true! The Skikes are more similar to normal roller blades (in length), so that's why I guess there might be easier, but we should try it :)
So cool I want to try! Way to go
Yes yes, try it!! You will love it :)
Wow!!!! By far one of the best inspirational adventure and video out there. You guys give living a whole new meaning. Thanks for sharing.🙌💜
Thanks Richard! These are beautiful words for us :)!
Hello, thank you for your video and for this wonderful adventure! Could you tell me the brake model you used on your rollerskis? Thank you!
We made a simple brake system ourselves and used these as brakes (budgetfietsonderdelen.nl/product/zwarte-remmen/) and these ones for the brake lever (www.bol.com/nl/nl/p/alhonga-remgreep-v-brake-links-3-vinger-zilver-zwart/9200000039428047/?bltgh=ifJhsbXfDMRdMvmeQIJCBQ.4_20.25.ProductImage). The steel plate we made in a workshop and we used crews to attach it to the trailer.
Thats Epic!

Wow amazing video!! Great job! Sending love from Canada. That looked amazing
Thanks Zac! We miss Canada, although Sweden looks very similar :)
@@WeLeaf Sweden and Norway looks sooooo much prettier then Ontario. I love that camp anywhere rule as well 😍.
@@21ZacDUDE The grass is always greener on the other side :p! It's very similar to Québec here. And yes, the right to roam is amazing!
Amazing trip and effort, congratulations. It was a great surprise to see your Xceed green tank top with the Mexican flag!
Hi Jose! Thank you so much :). The green tank top is a gift from a Mexican cyclist we met in Cancun. It's their triatlon team outfit. Zoë is still proud to wear it :)
wow ,not one pot hole was seen in the entire video !!!what a great video 👏👏🔥
Hehe yes, roads are excellent in Europe :)
