The flares are just a motivation for you to use your guns. In my custom weapon package I slap on some extra gun pods and I have no problems. Not very realistic though. I have a question about the planes. It seems to take forever to get planes other than the MiG23 and 25. When do I get more?
@FTW1998 I realize you are refereing to need for speed but waht kind of a relationship does this reference have to need for speed? this is like saying wow black ops... can you explain?
yes and the 1s one as well but i dont know how to change to third view perspectvie, nor do i know completely how to connect a controller/joystick which is almost a necessity to playing the game.
@FireOfEire whenever you level up you get one upgradee token that you can use to unlock new planes, passive and support abilities. go to pilot record and from there pec rewards
i wouldnt mind the UAV part, nor the landing or the AC-130 or the high altitude percision bombing, i love stealth and stuff like that, when i was young, i got on google earth and maped out the area and put pins on key areas, and made an entire map of a detailed AO etc. so the UAV part is nice i think
you can change the controls, what is the problem? being in front of a pc has a more cock pit feel than watching a tv with a controller from far away, but both are enjoyable
I just finished this game, and I have a question: WHAT in the HELL is going on?! From what I can tell its DDI vs. HAWX vs Maj.Zeal vs whovever DDI and HAWX were fighting in the beginning. No yaw, no briefings, no map locations for missions. Last scene: Maj. Zeal implies that he may be Arrow's brother. In case you can't tell from all that I just said, the Wii version of HAWX 2 I got is NOTHING like all these demo videos.; there is no HUD, no yaw, no cockpit view (to be continued)
Did anybody notice the European Federation Enforcers Corps - EC 660 "Whirlwind" Heavy Cargo Transport Helicopter in a grey colour from EndWar during the game?
@PRE1959 Actually I remember in the F.E.A.R. games for the pc you could poke your head around corners. But then again it isn't a war game so never mind. You're right though it DOES make it alot better not having to fully expose yourself just to see what's around the corner.
@EliteGhost001 I know, that is so annoying, but HAWX1 was kind of plain, and the flying characteristics were annoying ( like restricted manuverability and speed in ON mode) this one is a slight improvement at best.
1 thing i didn't like about this game is that yo can't change camera views like in the previous game where you just click RS . Instead you now have to pause the game and go to camera settings in the options menu which is really disapointing
like in ace combat, you can actually notice your plane moving fast or slow. but in hawx, even when you've accelerated all the way, you still feel like you going slow. did they make it better in hawx 2? btw everyone, ace combat assault horizon is awesome, but i really do enjoy playing both games equally
Played both Hawx, the first game was a much better game. Your wingmen were the most merciless, most destructive friends ever in Hawx 1, capable of wiping out two enemy fleets in 5 minutes and going 3 times the speed of a sr-71 blackbird in a SU-25 Frogfoot. Sense of speed is basically the same, although I preferred Hawx 1 speed. Hawx 2, can’t say the same with the wingmen.
The AI is really easy to combat with all the way through the main story line, brake flight maneuvers and machine gun kill most of the time if you played hawx 1 then you will understand a lot of the flight mechanics and it makes hawx 2 an easy but still challenging fun game
the thing that annoys me about this game is sometimes when its you and 5 a.i. team mates against one enemy, u end up going round and round in circles and you dont get helped, bit annoying at times and takes ages
no landing, no Russians, and none of the scenes in this or any of the other videos except the first three that show up when you enter "Tom Clancy's HAWX 2 Wii". You have to aim the machine gun seperately from the aircraft, and there are only like four weapons. The story line is completely different from what I've been reading, and that mission over Moscow is not included. Why is the Wii version so different from the one shown in this video. I'm so confused.
@gongie09 Ace Combat. Compare the trailers. HAWX has two arcade games out, and Ace Combat is pretty much a flagship for Sony. And they've released many more than seven games.
@Bentompvp I don't know where you go to school but in my university (and even back in high school), citing Wikipedia as a reference will result in an instant F for a paper. Sure, Wikipedia can be useful for casual reading or preliminary research on a topic, but never for a research paper. In fact, the same can be said about all other internet sources, except for those journal sites which require subscription fees (that my uni pays for) like JSTOR, EBSCOHOST, Gale, Euromonitor International, etc.
@1337lolguyman In fact, when I was a kid I had a small toy A-10 (It's still here somewhere), a really good quality one, dark-grey metal and all, It was my favorite toy of all times and it always won (or at least took lots of enemies with it), especially if any shitty plastic green MIGs that would get in it's way :))
I dont understand why everyone seems to hate the new features like takeoff/landing, or the UAV, those are all cool realistic things that you rarely get to do in a video game! I think its pretty cool, but in my opinion, if you want pure air combat, then play online, or get a ps2 and play Ace combat.
@Koumrian yes, landing is nice (not cool) and realistic. The Off mode is great fun. But Ubisoft just screwed up the gameplay. Its not a flying experience AT ALL. The plane isn't reacting as if its flying. If feels like you're driving a plane in an invisible tunnel which corners allong with you when you want it too.
IDK I think the UAV and AC-130 missions are cool and so is the take off, landing parts. It's much more unique than most air combat games. I didn't like the free flying game mode however, no mission or enemies just you flying around aimlessly to "enjoy the scenery" is kinda dumb. Imagine Call of Duty: Black Ops having a game mode where you can replay story missions without any objectives or enemies, it'd be pretty dumb.
It does. The disclaimer applies for all of Wikipedia. It is looked down upon by institutions of education for de facto the matter that it can be edited by any user, qualified or not. Amen man. But I prefer Ace Combat 4 even though it's on PS2. A perfect air force game ever made man. I don't know why that the creators of this game didn't make it as easy and a lil more fun as Ace Combat 4. For the controls and a chance for room when flyin low of course.
you know tyler....i have to agree.Even thou i'm an ace combat fan.....AH sucks man,but have you ever played ac4,ac5,and az0? the predecessor of AH is pure epic man,you should try it.....if you haven't that is.
Seems like Ubisoft was trying to get this out the way to focuse on Assasins Creed. Just like with Spiderman Shattered Deimensions, Activision is focusing on True Crime
Way to doge missiles- fly real low down. the missile gets confused. Also- i thought to cut scenes were pretty good for a flying game, about 20 times better than Ace Combat 6. AC6: Oh no, I had to sit on a train! HAWX 2- And when the bastards show their faces, we'll put a missile right between their eyes.
@LtChris909 not really, it's fun but nothing special. If you see it going cheap it's worth picking up (I got it for a tenner in the black friday sales on Amazon) Othewise Id wait for Ace Combat.
Why do reviewers always complain about the stuff that doesnt matter? Who cares if the ac-130 and surveilance missions were fun, its trying to change it up a bit.
The counter of terrorists is a benefit. The gain of oil is a luxury. The gain of a country to the US's liking is a benefit. You are wrong with your statement. Out of the many countries I have had the opportunity of visiting, the US is the only country that cares about its citizens the most. China is a country that wants to please its people. If they want oil, then they will take it. You should know that developed world runs on oil. Remove that and it falls apart.
@xaioxaio11 Thanks I think I will. By the way has anyone noticed that only Medal of Honor is the only First Person war game that has a "Peak and Lean" feature that lets you look around the corner instead of exposing your whole body? Like the other day I played Black Ops and you can't peak around the corner. Medal of Honor has the best moves. It makes it easier to hide and shoot without getting blown away during an intense firefight.
America is not perfect and it's still under development. It always has been, it always will be. It's history is full of dark and noble deeds. It shows how the average person can overcome the best to become the best. America doesn't focus on how it, the Yanks, took forever to join the world wars because it wanted to remain neutral and not waste innocent lives. It focuses and its achievements. It has something called pride. Some people take it too far, others remain humble, but its actions echo.
@jelmer4life download the demo and try for yourself, but i was just like you and i bought it and its pretty good. i still prefer my cods and halos but if you have alot of money around then get it but if your on a tight budget then there are a lot better games going around soon
@EliteGhost001 True, but thats just kind of the nature of a console flight game, but they could have done a better job, but at least its an improvement over HAWX1 lol
@superomar27 I played the first HAWX and it seemed like a massive rip-off of Ace Combat. Some of the missions were taken straight out of The Unsung War/Squadron Leader. Also, Ace Combat already had the 'Free-Flight' mode in it. It's not like HAWX pioneered it. It just seems like this game's taking elements from an already brilliant franchise in an attempt to pass off as its own and for some reason it seems to be working. I'll just stick to Ace Combat: ASsault Horizon, methinks.
I enjoyed the British missions the best, they were much better than the American and Russians. I just wished they didn't have them still using the Harrier.
02:58 Did Top Gun: Maverick pick this mission as inspiration for the movie?
The flares are just a motivation for you to use your guns. In my custom weapon package I slap on some extra gun pods and I have no problems. Not very realistic though. I have a question about the planes. It seems to take forever to get planes other than the MiG23 and 25. When do I get more?
@FTW1998 I realize you are refereing to need for speed but waht kind of a relationship does this reference have to need for speed? this is like saying wow black ops... can you explain?
Does this one not have the assistance on / off mode?! D:
yes and the 1s one as well but i dont know how to change to third view perspectvie, nor do i know completely how to connect a controller/joystick which is almost a necessity to playing the game.
Do a lot of people play on PS3, I am considering buying and play but you have to unlock planes and if nobody plays online how will I unlock the planes
I don't get why people criticize this game so quickly. Everyone's like an Ace Combat fanboy. This game is so fun and realistic. I absolutely love it.
@pruttisman i agree they limit the option of choice plane to use and can only be done so in non campaign mode
im new to these flying games which one should i get?? this or ace combat plz reply!
@Koumrian
improvement over HAWX 1? not so sure.
AI can keep on using flares forever!
@FireOfEire whenever you level up you get one upgradee token that you can use to unlock new planes, passive and support abilities. go to pilot record and from there pec rewards
@Quand9 me too. the enemy aircraft on HAWX 2 uses the cheat code that makes the number of flare infinite...
@XNooodlesX there are 14 months in a year?
i wouldnt mind the UAV part, nor the landing or the AC-130 or the high altitude percision bombing, i love stealth and stuff like that, when i was young, i got on google earth and maped out the area and put pins on key areas, and made an entire map of a detailed AO etc. so the UAV part is nice i think
you can change the controls, what is the problem? being in front of a pc has a more cock pit feel than watching a tv with a controller from far away, but both are enjoyable
@Ahamster1 AC7, what kind of question is that? Have you compared trailers?
do you get to choose what plane to use in campaign levels?
All good and fun but how does this stack up to Ace Combat?
is there split screen??????
I don't have xbox live, doe anybody know if I can still play multiplayer at home?
Can I use my joystick to play this game on pc??
i dont recall any planes in scc coop but considering ghost recon makes an appareance kestrel could too.
Can you play split screen?
which one is better? HAWX 1 OR 2?
I just finished this game, and I have a question:
WHAT in the HELL is going on?! From what I can tell its DDI vs. HAWX vs Maj.Zeal vs whovever DDI and HAWX were fighting in the beginning. No yaw, no briefings, no map locations for missions. @zombiekicker
lol
it looks good but I agree
where is Vegas 3
& the new ace combat looks bad ass
Yes HAWX2 never quite captured the fun of the orginal.
This game is not available for digital download anywhere.. It's not on Steam or Uplay for Pc. Strange.
torrents to the rescue or maybe xbox/playstation subscription services for pc or elsewhere?
@EliteGhost001 I know, that is so annoying, but HAWX1 was kind of plain, and the flying characteristics were annoying ( like restricted manuverability and speed in ON mode) this one is a slight improvement at best.
can u get a A10 warthog?????????????????
1 thing i didn't like about this game is that yo can't change camera views like in the previous game where you just click RS . Instead you now have to pause the game and go to camera settings in the options menu which is really disapointing
is this for pc??
is the sense of speed any better than it was in hawx1?
like in ace combat, you can actually notice your plane moving fast or slow. but in hawx, even when you've accelerated all the way, you still feel like you going slow. did they make it better in hawx 2?

do people still play the multiplayer?
Any good jet games?
WHICH IS BETTER THIS OR ACE COMBAT 6?? please reply
Ace combat
Good game, I prefer Lock on Flaming cliffs 2, but this isn't made to be a full-sim.
8/10
The AI is really easy to combat with all the way through the main story line, brake flight maneuvers and machine gun kill most of the time if you played hawx 1 then you will understand a lot of the flight mechanics and it makes hawx 2 an easy but still challenging fun game
the charcahter in hawk is crenshaw the mr spitfire was called henshaw concidence
is it any good?
I'm thinking of picking the game up would anybody recommend it?
@Helljumper1206 its when things are just so overused its not good to do them anymore
the thing that annoys me about this game is sometimes when its you and 5 a.i. team mates against one enemy, u end up going round and round in circles and you dont get helped, bit annoying at times and takes ages
@Thefallenraptor True, AC5 was awesome! I still play it lol. Perhaps Assault Horizion will make up for their transgressions.
no landing, no Russians, and none of the scenes in this or any of the other videos except the first three that show up when you enter "Tom Clancy's HAWX 2 Wii". however i think its just a russian splinter cell..
kestrels outfit was only different from archers because archer is us... wolfhound is russian.
@gongie09 Ace Combat. Compare the trailers. HAWX has two arcade games out, and Ace Combat is pretty much a flagship for Sony. And they've released many more than seven games.

They failed to mention that the multiplayer is literally inoperable.

This is cod but in planes?
First comment in 3 years on a video with over 150,000 views
ahh salmon skin roll
what? we dont get a rating??
@TheAAA166 i dont know why you couldnt... there was one last game
@Koumrian
yes, landing is nice (not cool) and realistic. The Off mode is great fun. But Ubisoft just screwed up the gameplay. Its not a flying experience AT ALL. The plane isn't reacting as if its flying. Watching nostalgia right now.
is this game good on 360 anyone?
1:01 it's Kestrel!
Amen man. But I prefer Ace Combat 4 even though it's on PS2. A perfect air force game ever made man. I don't know why that the creators of this game didn't make it as easy and a lil more fun as Ace Combat 4. For the controls and a chance for room when flyin low of course.
@PRE1959 you should try left 4 dead 1 and 2, dead rising 1 and 2, and crackdown 1(not 2, that one sucks). Those are some pretty good 360 exclusives
ive mastered FPS games ;) so im gonna get this for something a little different.
tom clancy sale?
So... it's a less-fun version of Assault Horizon?
you know tyler....i have to agree.Even thou i'm an ace combat fan.....AH sucks man,but have you ever played ac4,ac5,and az0? the predecessor of AH is pure epic man,you should try it.....if you haven't that is.
Seems like Ubisoft was trying to get this out the way to focuse on Assasins Creed. Just like with Spiderman Shattered Deimensions, Activision is focusing on True Crime
@thugproofclips what are you?
@HaloModder555 that would be a pretty good one
1:00 Kestrel from Splinter Cell Conviction....
Dogfight mode. The redeeming feature. Absent from this game, yet every other aspect is identical.
1:00 THAT's FUCKIN KESTREL xDDDDD
Way to doge missiles- fly real low down. the missile gets confused.
Also- i thought to cut scenes were pretty good for a flying game, about 20 times better than Ace Combat 6.

@n1nj4sp4rt4n agree, HAWX2 is fun for a little while so worth picking up if you see it going dirt cheap but Ace Combat is going to utterly destroy it.
ace combat assault horizon is much better than this check it out
+leonard toledo that game is so trash.....
Yeah but still better than HAWX 2 .HAWX 2 has really bad clunky controls and limited amount of aircraft.
Why do reviewers always complain about the stuff that doesnt matter? Who cares if the ac-130 and surveilance missions were fun, its trying to change it up a bit.
@GodBlessYou2008 i really hope so,
I wa going 2 get this game but on 2nd thought, prob not
"WIKIPEDIA MAKES NO GUARANTEE OF VALIDITY"

AC130 is fun, and UAV, I can get into that. (twss)

I enjoyed the Ace Combat series on the PS2
I like my planes raw and old! il-2 sturmovik when planes where actually hard to fly.
Do you still play,
Im talking birds of prey
@jelmer4life download the demo and try for yourself, but i was just like you and i bought it and its pretty good. i still prefer my cods and halos but if you have alot of money around then get it but if your on a tight budget then there are a lot better games going around soon
@EliteGhost001 True, but thats just kind of the nature of a console flight game, but they could have done a better job, but at least its an improvement over HAWX1 lol
@TheSilentOne50 Must be a tom clancy easter egg
I hate the controls in this game. It take like a full second for the plane to respond.
you're a little late in complaining sir..so am i in commenting damn
@ThrashFuckinMetal In case you didn't know, that's 90% of modern air power's job.
Im just saying but this game is balls. I bought it, finished the campaign, and sold it being mad that I blew 60 dollars on a shitty game
@superomar27 I played the first HAWX and it seemed like a massive rip-off of Ace Combat. Some of the missions were taken straight out of The Unsung War/Squadron Leader.

@aramco123 good stuff man, it's not the best of the ace combat games but it's pretty darn good
