The lenses of your camera distortes your facial proportions specially the cell phone fish eye lenses having better lenses and taking the picture a little bit far away does a great job
You have a slightly deviated septum. About 80% of people have some form of this. I'd say your overall symmetry is about average. Celebrities have above average symmetry but are still not 100% symmetrical. Be careful not to get bogged down in thoughts that might trigger body dysmorphia. I struggle with this disorder myself and those face apps are the primary trigger for it.
Oh don’t worry, I’m not bogged down by it! It’s something I notice, but not in an obsessive or overly negative way. But I appreciate your comment, because I know it’s very very easy to get into some bad thought patterns about things we can’t change about our appearance.
The muscles and bone develop (and continues to develop throughout your life) through forces as you chew. I have a prominent exostosis which sticks out on the gumline on the right side of my lower jaw. It's basically extra bone that has formed to support my misaligned bite. Interesting to note, I have only been chewing on the left side during my current upper expansion (the past 4/5 months) and the exostosis has gotten smaller. Stands to reason, if you're building up on one side and neglecting the other, the other side will have less prominence and more weakness. This is why HUGE importance should be placed on symmetry, jaw position/ occlusion. 👍🏻
Ah interesting! Yes, it totally makes sense. But sometimes things that seem intuitive don’t always pan out, so I love hearing people’s experiences. Very encouraging you’ve noticed a change after just a few months!
Look at pictures of your younger self and see if there was always some kind of asymmetry. From my first look, you are normal. I did not notice anything. It's only when people's eyes actually avert and notice flaws are when you can say you are more asymmetrical than most people

While some people wish for facial symmetry I wish my chin can grow further away from my neck. We all have insecurities, but forever we mew. Anyways, your jaw is that of a model’s. You are blessed.
Hey guys! I've always thought chewing on the 'chubbier' side will make my face more symmetrical to look like my slimmer side. I recently found out that youre supposed to massage, chew and do all the work on the slimmer side. It you pay close attention you'll notice that your chubbier side isn't chubby but in fact has great muscle structure. The slimmer side is weaker with no muscle structure. To make it more clear I'll give you an example, exercising your arms. If you do all the work on your right arm, you'll build muscles and it'll look more defined. So in order to even it out, you have to do the same work on the slimmer arm. That's all you guys hope it helps and correct me if I'm wrong.
I have a question I always work on my right arm and my right arm skin is tighter. Whereas I found out my left side is weak (because I don't write by my left arm) and also the skin is puffy and not tight. So how do you describe this?
And so like my left side of my face is bigger and I don't feel exhausted chewing left side. Whereas my right side skin us tighter and flatter and I feel exhausted chewing in my right side. So in my words my right side of face is weak . As I cannot smirk easily like my left side or I hardly can lift my eyebrow on right side of my face. So which side should I start chewing to make it assymetric or defined
Hello I believe chewing on one side definetely causes asymmetry not only in teeth but also on whole maxilla I think.I had both of my jaws rectracted without extractions when I was 11.Because orthodontist rectracted sooo much that my second permanent molar which had not been erupted back then got under my first permanent molar and destroyed its root.I was in so much pain and my orthodontist didn't believe me for 3-4 months.Until the left side of my face became completely swollen and we didn't think it was an issue about teeth back then so we went to a doctor. So the doctor told us this could be something about teeth issue so my mom told him the whole story and the doctor advised us to go to another dentist. So we went to just a regular dentist and she took an X-ray and revealed that the second permanent molar destroyed the first permanent molars root.So my family decided to stop the orthodontic treatment immediately. We went back to the dentist and she gave me a root canal on that root because at that age losing a permanent molar was definetely not an option(As I didn't have any other teeth to chew with). She tried to save it as much as she can but it was beyond saving. So she wasn't able to remove the abcess completely.Because of that, even though I wasn't able to feel that tooth after the root canal I was definetely able to feel the pain around the tooths tissue because of the abcess. So long story short I wasn't able to chew with that side for 10 years now.So thats how my maxilla and teeth become tilted to the left side including my eyes! :)) :(( (fun fact my left lymph node has stayed swollen till this day thanks to the event)
Oh my goodness! What an ordeal, I’m sorry you had to go through that! Very interesting that you’ve noticed changes in your face from only being able to chew on one side (and makes total sense!). Thanks for sharing.

I'm 31 and starting some sort of treatment soon, as soon as I find the right ortho that is able to help me. Thus far they have only cared about the aesthetics of my smile. I have severe functional issues and some aesthetic. Anyways, don't overthink the details. I also have an asymmetrical jaw which I just found out the other day, and I'm not that worried about it, just want some harmony and improved functionality and quality of life. Your face is really beautiful, especially with the much noticeable improvements. It fits who your personality. You wear it well. Anyways... Glad for you. Wish me Luck :)
Oh thank you! And don’t worry, I’m not hung up on it in the least - I think it’s interesting to notice these things when it relates to function, and I (like you!) am happy to improve where I can, but at the end of the day...there are more important things in life to think about :) Best of luck to you!!
Aww...such a pretty girl despite the mild asymmetry and things. I've had a wisdom tooth causing me issues for years now. I have been chewing on my left side for years because of this. Now my left cheek is noticeably bigger than the right. On top of that I have facial fat due to a high body fat percentage and high MBI. However, I have recently began a weight loss journey plus I've deliberately chewed on my right side for the last few weeks. So far I've lost around 15 lbs and I think there's a slight improvement but it's hard to see in the weekly pictures I've been taking. I hope this issue will correct itself at some point. Of course, I plan to visit my dentist at some point too. I haven't been for years!!
@@Mycreavings Incredibly, it is not. I've been chewing all of my food on the smaller side for around one year yet I still have this issue. I decided to buy some special chewing gum and I've been chewing this for around one month at this point. Things appeared to have improved slightly but the asymmetry is still noticeable. It is infuriating and I'm not sure I can get this issue sorted.
Waittt i was chewing on one side but i suddenly forgot that which side i was chewing and now to balance my face, i don't know from which side i should chew! My right jaw is flatter and left one is chubbier so i should chew from right or left
Hi everyone. I used to chew on my right side (probably) and that side is small, lifted, and has a smaller jaw. The other side looks flat but larger. I also noticed that my chin is slightly moved towards the right side. Now if i wanna fix this, which side should i use to chew? It is really confusing because different people are giving different suggestions but i don't wanna follow a wrong suggestion and make my facial asymmetry worse.
@shujamaimum9555 same here! I had wisdom tooth surgery in 2021 on my left side so I had to chew on my right side. So I've been chewing on my right side without realizing been doing it for 3 years already. Now I notice that my right side is smaller and slimmer than my left side. So now I'm starting to develop the habit of chewing on my left side and hopefully it will make that side smaller too. I know it's gonna take years too and I'll be patiently waiting for result and try not to think or look at it all the time 😅
