- I thought of doing this after PumpkinKing MusicVideos said he was going to start doing marvel tributes, something he decided to do after the death of Comic Book Monolith, Stan Lee. I personally love this guy, especially in the video game. He just is so compelling. I chose this song to represent his dual nature, of the kind hearted Martin Li, and the cold hearted Mr. Negative. My one year special is coming December 17th, so from now on, I want to cover more obscure/underrated villains. In fact after I finish my one year special, I want to work on a 6 minute tribute dedicated to all underrated Bat-Rogues. The next one I'll do might be Tombstone, just have to make sure everything works.

Mr. Negative is by far the best comic book villain created in the 21st century.
I feel like Li can be redeemed since he almost looked like Peter had finally gotten through to him before Otto called him useless and knocked him out. He started out as a good guy trying to help people through FEAST but his hatred of Norman for experimenting on him which caused Martin to accidentally kill his parents because he couldn't control his new powers consumed him. If he'd only gone after Norman without hurting and killing innocent people to get to him it would have been fine. He still cared about May and in a note he says he feels like he can't go through with what he's about to do because it would destroy the good work he did at FEAST showing that he feels doubt and guilt about his actions. Doesn't justify his actions but it explains why he did them.

I bet if Li and Otto had killed Spider-Man and Otto had gotten Norman to admit his corruption they probably planned to kill Norman by infecting him with Devil's Breath. Which for Li would have been fitting because he'd be killing the man who turned him into Mr Negative and caused him to accidentally kill his parents with the same thing Norman tested an early version of on him.
Otto on the other hand is irredeemable IMO. I felt sorry for the fact that the disease he got from being exposed to chemicals when he was younger would render him a crippled mess trapped in his own body, the fact that Norman stole his research and tried to force Otto to work for him at Oscorp and I don't blame him for building the arms as a way to cure himself. But I lost all sympathy for him when he broke The Sinister Six out of jail, released Devil's Breath on New York infecting and killing loads of people including Aunt May and being willing to let them all die if it "punished" Norman, beating the shit out of Spider-Man until he was half dead, sending Scorpion to poison the water supply, Electro to absorb all the power, Rhino to kill the cops and using ordinary criminals to wreak havoc on the streets as an extra distraction. And unlike Li who felt remorse for the things he'd done like the city hall terrorist attack Ock felt no guilt for any of his actions not caring who got killed as long as he got to kill Norman. And when you go back to his hideout after the main game you find out he'd been planning everything and making the supervillain gear long before Li's terrorist attack which he says "inspired" him. And ever since he saw Peter trying to sew up the suit he knew he was Spider-Man but pretended he thought that Peter just helped Spider-Man to stop Peter from getting suspicious. Putting on the arms before they'd been perfected may have made him worse but he was evil long before that which Peter himself realises while under the influence of Scorpion's poison because the Otto hallucination he sees represents Peter realising that Otto's obsession with killing Norman was always there. It just took Li's actions and him putting on the arms to bring it out. What shows how far Ock's fallen is when he calls Li useless and knocks him out. The fact that things went from Otto leaving Oscorp because testing the failed Devil's Breath prototype on Li turned Martin into Mr Negative and killed his parents to calling him useless and whacking him with a tentacle shows what a monster he'd become. At the beginning Otto being trapped in his own body seemed like a sad fate. Now after everything he did in the game it seems like a deserved punishment.
