Two little tips I have to add two these beautiful recipes if you don't mind! For the hot chocolate, adding a little pinch of salt takes it to the next level. It really makes the chocolate flavor stand out much more. And for the risotto, it is very important to add warm stock to the rice. Have it on the stove and keep it warm (but not boiling!). Cold stock will stop the rice cooking and result in something either very mushy or very undercooked.
I don't know why I couldn't think of this myself but measuring out the milk for the hot chocolate with a mug is so smart! I always make either too much or too little. Such a simple solution, thanks for that. I'll definitely do it like that next time!😅🤦🏼♀️
Alex: "such a beautiful shot" I agree, but not just that shot... the whole video bc omg the angles and the music!! so calming and aesthetically pleasing
I cannot stress enough on how much I love your videos.... They are so aesthetically pleasing and as a new vegan, these budgeted videos are a literal lifesaver!!!!🌟🌟
If you actually want to make the dark chocolate thick and indulgent i recommend using something like rice flour or corn starch (or even normal flour). I recommend sifting it and stirring it the whole time. It will thicken up and make the hot chocolate sooo much better and perfect for an indulgent after dinner drink with a movie or something. You can make it even better by using both actual chocolate and some good quality cacao powder. And make it as sweet as you'd like! Of course it takes more than three ingredients but it's worth it! Or just skip the cinnamon and use the thickening starch or flour if you really want to keep it to 3 :)
As a vegan student who is constantly budgeting, seeing this video was an instant day brightener :) aways love your videos they are always shot so beautifully, and atmosphere with you feels so friendly, thankyou!!
Hey Madeleine, I enjoy every time your videos so much. Don’t hesitate sometimes to maybe share some more complex recipes. I, as a student, would still be very interested. Much love from Belgium ! ❤️
Thanks for making relatable content for the average student / young professional on the go. I love cooking but it sometimes stresses me out so I’ll go without eating but your videos remind me healthy and satisfying meals can be cheap and quick and delicious !
Thank you for sharing about using chocolate bars for chocolate milk! Did not ever occur to me to do that. I love how simple, totally approachable and delicious your cooking style is!
I love your budget videos and this was no exception!! People don't realise how easy it is to make certain classics vegan like mac.and cheese and risotto.im glad you've included these in your video.
Firstly, this is so helpful, these are exactly these recipes I need! Secondly, your videos are so peaceful, they're like ASMR. I would watch them even if I wasn't vegan lol. Thanks for making this content, keep up the good work :)
Now I want to make ALL the recipes in one meal! This is the kind of videos that make me follow you in the beginning... I really like the evolution of your youtube channel but from time to time, returning at the basics cannot hurt! Love frome Québec, Canada.
The first vegan chef or any chef for that matter, who suggested cooking pasta in its designated sauce was gaz Oakley from Avantgardevegan. You can do this whole spiel with tomato sauce as well. Turns out incredibly rich and cream.
Random fact: Cooking macaroni in milk is a traditional side dish in Sweden, we usually add some simple seasoning (no cheese) to them and eat them with what ever tickles your fancy😋
@@MadeleineOlivia cool. Didn’t know that. Then I stand corrected, the first time I saw a vegan chef do this was when gaz Oakley did it. Btw, love your content! Will you be doing any renovation content any time soon?
Anybody else watch this video and just think 'Wow, this is the most beautiful and glowing Maddie has ever looked?' . You look soooooo healthy and happy.
Hey !! Are there any french subscribers to this amazing channel ? I am 🙋 and let me tell you that, if our country is considered the place to be in terms of food is because they don't know you Maddie ! 🤤 What you do is so inspiring and delicious and i can't wait to have your ebook on hands 😘
Thank you so much for the code Maddie - 😘 I have just ordered 3 - one for my son, one for my daughter and a treat for myself xxx ❤️ You are really helping me out for Christmas gifts this year 🥰
Watching this whilst hungry was not a good idea 😂 I can't thank you enough for all the work you put into these videos, you are the first person I go to for vegan recipes and I can't wait for the new e-book! Thank you thank you for making such incredible and easy vegan meals 🌱💚💚
The simple ingredients videos is how I found your channel and I can’t believe it’s been two years! I checked the purchase date of your cookbook and 2018! Excited for the new cookbook 😁
Feck all protein in those meals. They are carb heavy to fill you up, but don't offer much nutrition. If you have a physical job you'll find yourself constantly hungry and lacking energy.
I'm thinking that that mac and cheese would taste great with a little curry powder in it and pureed squash to the sauce. I make a curried squash soup. Onions, garlic, carrot, squash of choice, pepper, salt and curry powder though I think curry powder would also work cooked in vegetable broth and boil until vegetables are cooked. Puree and add in some plant milk of choice, I prefer soy milk for it. I'll make it and change out the seasonings and it's amazing how it changes the taste. I also recently made one but with sweet potato instead of squash and a third of a can of white beans. It added extra creaminess and thickness to it.
Ha! I wish I could find vegan cheese for that price...! But these all look delicious! I am especially looking forward to making the curried potatoes this week.
I just love your videos, your food looks soooo good. I have a can of Jackfruit, so that is what I will be doing for lunch tomorrow - can't wait. The chips look amazing and the hot chocolate - genius! Will definitely be trying some yum yum. I love the way you two laugh during the video and the captions on the screen are hilarious. 'fry in a grim pan' 🤣 thank you for showing us that keeping it simple also works - you are such an inspiration Maddie. I seriously can not wait until 1st December for your book - you are amazing and I, and probably every one of your subscribers are so very proud of you xxxx
Hi Madeleine, I wanted to ask what you feed Roxie? As a person who follows a plant based diet, I wonder if it's ok to feed a dog plant based food too. Do you have any recommendations?
So parboiling the potatoes first makes them extra fluffy. And then hearing the oil up makes them extra crispy! Stops the oil from immediately being absorbed into the potatoes, and instead stays on the outside of them to crisp up!
Hey Maddie, thank you for this video, I loved it :) Is there any chance you can tell me where you got the mug you used in the first recipe? I've been wanting to get new mugs for a long time now and yours is just so beautiful! love from Germany

cooking the macaroni IN the milk for the sauce! 🤯

i make the chips cooking them in the oven now and also making a vegan burger also to fill me up i'm so excited !!!
I love these videos and Maddie and general! I just wish they could tell us how many macros are in each recipe (especially protein!)

If anyone has something that can help, please do! Thanks.
A dog is a carnivore. It’s only fair to feed it meat. It doesn’t make you a bad vegan to do it, just a responsible pet owner 🙂
Going to try the bbq jackfruit this week. I also didn't know about the melted chocolate to make hot chocolate. 🍶☕🍫

love these types of videos!
those curry chips 😍🥰
The chips 😍♥️♥️😍😍
