ACE Curriculum Review {3 Years Later! ~ Part 1}

- In today's video I'm sharing many reasons we are still loving A.C.E. Curriculum! Every year I love this curriculum even more! We currently have a 6th grader, 4th grader, and 2nd grader in our homeschool. We use ACE PACES for math, english, world building, social studies, and science.

*ACE IS UNDERRATED!!!* It is a wonderful curriculum, I would say that has stood strong through the times. I know that every year something new comes through and it’s all the hype, but it is overrated, see what I did there 🤣. We are going into our 5th year using them, and your video was one of two I watched that led me to use them, by the Grace of God through His Spirit, I am forever humbled, honored, and grateful for you and this curriculum. Paces are great! I've appreciated opportunities to discuss responsibility as a necessary balance to freedom, particularly given the situation with covid, because my kids and I have noticed the paces don't emphasize responsibility much.

Thank you for the update. Can you share how you do literature or how you encourage reading since you don't use the paces.
Sure, for 1st and 2nd grade I just have the child read a short age appropriate book, and repeat that book 3-4 times during the week.
Starting in 3rd grade they read chapter books for about 20 min, and dictate what they read. First I help them learn how to summarize orally, then in writing. The reading time slowly increases as needed. In about 5th grade, I have them stop dictations and begin writing book reports after they've completed reading a chapter book. I printed out several book report ideas and let them choose the one they would like to do (ie: traditional book report, dioramma, comic book synopsis, etc.)
@@familyfarmhouse Thank you for the great suggestions. Sometimes my kids struggle with the Literature and I wanted to see how others modify that area. They were in private school and now I'm homeschooling with few adjustments. Thank you again. God bless.
