What I find really interesting about the locker recovery business is what people choose to save, and how they choose to save it. Some lockers are carefully organized, all packed in totes and easy to inventory. Others are just mounds of junk, mixed in with precious stones, paintings, jewelry and other things of value. It's amazing. Gives a kind of birds eye view of the psyche of our materialistic society.
Yeah it's ridiculous the amount of trash people will pay money to store , for years , and eventually either they or their surviving family members let it all go to someone else for nothing .. smh ..what a waste of money storing it all.
@@metaljack866 yup. In my opinion, storage units, okay to store a few stuff in like if you're in a transitional phase, but if you are finding you are permanently storing stuff that you arent quite ready to get rid of, just get rid of it. You are basically getting rid of your junk by putting it in a storage space might as well get it over with and make more cash on the stuff than paying to store it only for it to go away.
I didn't want any of my mother in law's stuff either. It was in a storage unit, but only for maybe 3 years. She died in 2021 of covid. My husband (her son) said he'd help to get rid of it, but he died 9 months later himself of pancreatic cancer. So I was left with all this junk I paid $165 a month to keep. I just got it all hauled off the latter part of July 2023. I didn't sell any of it. They guys who hauled it off asked me about the washer and dryer if they could have it, and I said they could have whatever they wanted. I just wanted it gone. I have some of her nicer furniture already in my home since she lived with us until she passed. I didn't need the washer and dryer----I have newer ones than the ones that were in storage. (Jan Griffiths).
The Lady who runs the storage place was happy to see you, because all that Junk is yours now!! She doesn't have to deal with any of it. It's going to take you about a year to go through all of it Good Luck digging.
I went through all of my mother in law's papers before I had all her stuff hauled off. No money to be had, deeds, stocks, bonds, or anything else of value. Mostly tax papers from years and years ago. (Jan Griffiths).
I liked it better when you used to buy the units by yourself. Nothing against your partners. Such an unorganized video ... too many hands could not see what you got. You an uncle Mike worked much better. These guys are more into trying to be comedians and appear on the video. Did not like it at all.
Be honest what did you get out of that unit? did you ever recover your money? I mean it really did look like all junk none of which I would likely keep. My mom just recently passed and she had a lot of knick knacks I brought it all to a secondhand store and just gave it away.
Interesting for sure, but I'd be wearing latex gloves and a mask. Also these are the belongings of a person who has since passed from this world. These things embody there dreams, ambitions, memories, hopes, wishes etc. etc. I think its important to be respectful. You wouldn't want someone rummaging through your things after your gone as a goof.
Oh my- I get why you opened the boxes at the unit- I’d want to load everything up as is and take to my own storage building to sort, yes I know possible more expensive for what is trash to be hauled away- so so much stuff. We had those round storage containers in our attic full of hand me down clothes. One persons trash is another’s treasure and you found lots and lots of treasure.
The weird looking key that you found in the jewelry/makeup bag looks just like a freezer key. Like for an upright freezer. Chest type probably as well.
Lol, from the short I already knew it was going to be a bunch of sentimental bs. Stuff that she didn't want in her house but couldn't bear to get rid of because of the memories attached to the objects
Captain I just read a article about 2020 pennies that got double struck and sent out into circulation. If you find one hold onto it. It will be some money.
So basically treasure for him/them is money and jewelry. Not those vintage and rare items that he just basically threw away. They have no idea what they're doing. Most of them not even wearing gloves. This video made me super uncomfortable and I'm out even before the video is half way done.
Hey Mike. Did you guys keep that little golden religious figurine at 17:17? I would absolutely purchase it from you. Have been looking for something like that for my grandma
I don't find that hard to believe Mike she was probably working out of it no? The way it is packed I can't see how you could work out of it?? I will watch and find out with you. Stay safe and healthy 🙏❤🙏
The religious items and the rosary beads, stuff like that's valuable due to the age of them. There was alot of flea market items with profit potential.
I, like it when they let you open your boxes by yourself and not trying to horad in on your boxes.when you start doing unboxing by yourself i will start watching the videos again!
I came across ur channel First time viewing .. It made me sad 😔 how she had all her stuff in storage, for 36 years ! Makes me wonder 🤔 WHY?? And was paying for it ! Were are they ? Did her husband die first!? She had no help from her kids?! Did she die by her self !?kids don't give a shit !!?? Maybe the kids stuck her in a nursing home! And the only thing she had left was the storage unit ...full of memories !? And that's the only way she keeped something for her ! ? Seems like her kids didn't give a shit about there mother !? When u get old ...some times ...THEY FORGET ...that u still have a heart!! And Ur hurt She was there to wipe there bums, make sure her kids are safe ! I wonder ?? How lonely she was? How hurt ? How much she sacrificed? How her kids thought nothing of her ! At the end ..WE COULD BE THE LADY that had a storage unit for 36 years! Forgotten..because WE GOT OLD😒😪🤧 And kids were just interested in selling her house ..and putting her in a nursing home! Out of sight out of mind !! Karma !! P.S... I was so proud of you ..u cared !! BUT THOSE 3 🤡 SHOULD BE a shame of themselves totally disrespectful I didn't think that was quite funny! I JUST WANTED TO REACH IN TV ...and slap them !! Grhhhh!😡🤬🤡🤡🤡
Just to give you some advice, it may help you. The older generation loved to hide money in there clothes that hung up in the closet. I would check pockets.
My guess before I watch. I bet they were hoarders, one died, the other got sick...so the kids kept paying for the storage, because they intended to go through it.
If I can ever get some spare money to gamble this is what I plan on doing in the future lol. Great video and even though you didn’t find the 100K I imagine you definitely made your money back.
Loved the way they ended the video. The Guy who was takking over The Band playing as if no noise was being made. LOL When The Band makes their 1st Album I wanna Copy. :-)
It really bugs me that you are putting your dirty hands all over the fabric etc. they were carefully packed. You could move andd wash your hands and then unpack. Vintage fabric is desirable. But not with dirt! 🤨
Abandoned 36 years bull 💩‼️ no company is going to let a unit sit for that long without payment, most of these posters don't realize these UA-camrs get paid every time you click on these videos, make more money than they find in a junk storage unit 🙄‼️
Wish you would of showed the black purse at minute marker 21:33 Alex was holding it first then the other guy with the blue holy gloves was going through it. what kind of purse was it? hope to watch you go through the rest of this locker. btw can't wait for the awesome auction your gonna have. hope i'll be able to afford something. have a great day.

Interesting
I’m way to high to think about this

I think you got a hoarders lot.
Her family knew and are dealing with the stuff that wasn't stored.
I thought the same from the beginning - hoarder. The family got a result though. They got someone to pay them thousands to clear out all the junk
Fascinating to watch, but makes me determined to get rid of all my stuff before I die so strangers aren't digging through my stuff after I'm gone.
Oh we're going to get to it Jerry you'll see
But imagine there is an afterlife and when we're dead, we can watch thi living. Wouldn't it be fun to see others find your storage?
Makes me mad when someone who stored and cared for stuff for years dies and the worthless family could care less and just be lazy and sell it!😩
No lie. Most families don’t want anything

Lmao
Those vintage tees he found will probably run him $500+ if he can sell them
I hope you have someone going through all that paperwork thoroughly. My grandma hid money EVERYWHERE
YOUR Grandma !!!??
Absolutely agree! Bearer bonds, title deeds, etc. Who knows what's in those papers.
I went through all of my mother in law's papers before I had all her stuff hauled off. No money to be had, deeds, stocks, bonds, or anything else of value. Mostly tax papers from years and years ago. (Jan Griffiths).
Definitely a hoarders unit. My mother's is just like this been sitting since 2005. We're gonna a clean it out this summer.
My kids wont have to go through much. Everything i own will fit in a suv and no money to fight over
The first one you opened, the lamp... Just beautiful ! With all those pennies you must look for that one 1943 worth mega bucks!

There will be a lot of that in future videos
Thank you

Hi ya !!! Wow wow wow!!! I m subscribed now. We met at the REMIX . I m the gal w the 67 mustang.! So happy for this unit for you!
I hope y’all went through all those pennies. Some of them could’ve been pretty old. It’s not just wheat pennies you should be looking for.
Be honest what did you get out of that unit? did you ever recover your money? I mean it really did look like all junk none of which I would likely keep. My mom just recently passed and she had a lot of knick knacks I brought it all to a secondhand store and just gave it away.
If you did find that fortune this wouldn’t have been posted and your body wouldn’t be found.
The old lady had all these things in storage for 36 years? So, I wonder what was in her home?
Something disconcerting seeing grown men rummaging through a deceased lady's handbags 😥
😂😂😂
I love the 80s. The best decade for vintage stuff. I wonder if they will auction some items. Show us EVERYTHING!
I show everything i can on my UA-cam and fb videos . And we sell on our UA-cam auctions
@@StorageAuctionPirate Not a fan, too much messing about in this one.
I can’t believe they are opening that stuff without gloves.
Wait he said 1943 for the pennies 😲 a copper 1943 is worth a decent amount. They switched to steel that year in support of WWII to save material
Brother… Power Rangers was founded in 1993,,, which means this unit is a bit younger than u thought.

one man's trash is another man's problem...geez... nothing but junk
The truck is packed and it looks as if you only moved out about 1-2 feet of boxes. So crazy!
I wish we could get the value of each item as you take them out.
I wonder how the business owner could even keep everything in good condition for 30 years
Oh my- I get why you opened the boxes at the unit- I’d want to load everything up as is and take to my own storage building to sort, yes I know possible more expensive for what is trash to be hauled away- so so much stuff. We had those round storage containers in our attic full of hand me down clothes. One persons trash is another’s treasure and you found lots and lots of treasure.
Treasurer he says lol
I’m glad to know if you got bit by a spider or something!
She had no help to clean it out
The weird looking key that you found in the jewelry/makeup bag looks just like a freezer key. Like for an upright freezer. Chest type probably as well.
Looks like the kind of stuff a pick-pocket or small time thief would have and how they would stash it away.
Open door pour on gas light and walk away.
When you split the cost of the unit, how do you determine who gets what? I've always wondered that. Thank you
We just sell and split money
@@StorageAuctionPirate good point..
Not a fan of sharing units, to confusing and goofing around...
Absolutely agree, Mike is more interesting than those other dudes
It’s fun to collab. For me it gets boring doing alone always. But we have several solo units coming
Another great video.... Hope Summer is going slow for every one. Enjoy the good days minus the Heat.
Thank you
How can anybody accumulate such an immens pile of stuff? Did they go on a shopping spree to the Mall on a daily basis?
I like it when you be quiet and let them figure it out
Lmao it’s dinner
I like how you go through it as you get it out
It definitely can
Making a mess and doubling their space. Make more sense to do this at a facility where they can sort and show their collection in full.
Now we know why the Family said sell it...........
Your son is going to follow yor footsteps that's awesome good young man
HOARDER CITY ! Holy Moly. You've got an entire little flea market there. Get a building with tables for a weekend, and have a giant indoor tag sale.
How long do you have to clean out the unit , and is there a dump on site for all the stuff you don’t want?
At the end of the video...i hate how they destroy those cooking utensils...you can donate those to people who cant afford it....it goes a long way
You guys are so disrespectful of other people's stuff. You can hurry and check things but not just throw them around.
5:33 what was the date on that bottle?
I would be wearing gloves and a mask to protect from all that dust!
It was nothing but junk.
10:16 i was sure you were going to say something else.
Besides Manuel, those guys play too much.
It bothers me because even though enjoying the work is part of it, is still business that gets you ahead.
It’s a fine line to dance. Will be many solo videos coming soon
36 years of paying for junk, it would have been cheaper to do a dump run, 36 years prior.
Shame really, the poor woman probably lived in fear of being robbed by guys like this her whole life.. and they still got her in the end.
Lol, from the short I already knew it was going to be a bunch of sentimental bs. Stuff that she didn't want in her house but couldn't bear to get rid of because of the memories attached to the objects
it would of been nice if her family could keep the picture’s of the family pictures.
Please wear mask and gloves breathing that dust is so bad
So what was the profit in the end?
Surprising the clothes pulled us out hand full of Levi’s got us like $1000 but we didn’t profit much we turned and burned it
I'm from Egypt and I like your channel! Keep it up!
I like when you have guests they talk as well as you.
You might have a gold mine in pennies? Some hold value.

Oh ok ty
MIke,
I would prefer you doing that,
too much goofing off on their part and what if dumping that container broke something...just sayin.
Cheers,
Rik
Thank you
I was coming to comment the same exact thing. Excitedly came to this video from TikTok, but was quickly put off by the "goofing off". 🤷
Love to look through other peoples stuff that’s why they I buy storage units all the time It’s a Addiction
