It seems that autumn is coming earlier this year for some reason it was only 40° this morning. I am ready to move onto some autumn drawing and painting. I’m a little tired of summer I guess. Thank you Diane for being the person that you are, you are a good person and you’re excellent artist. Don’t let anyone ever tell you any different, we love you.
I always was looking forward to hear the cockerel 🐓in the background 🤷♀️reminiscent of spending vacation at my aunt’s ❤️can’t please everyone lol sorry he’s gone
I love the sounds of the birds and your animals. Much better than loud music some people put over their videos. Very relaxing and goes with the style of your work. Your mushrooms are beautiful. Thank you
It's cold and windy this morning as we have a cold front blowing through. I've spied a few leaves turning color while on my walks. I'm not ready for Summer's long warm days to go just yet. I loved your sketchbook tour of Mushrooms, as well as your book collection. I thought I had that Botanical book, but it's a different one. I did recently purchase Botanical Line Drawing by Peggy Dean after you showed how it inspired you to draw and paint cactus. I've been doodling my way though it. You inspired me to draw mushrooms this morning! Now I hope I don't blow it when I add watercolor. 😂😂 Your farmyard sounds are lovely. This morning's dove soft cooing in the background was delightful.
For the record, I love the background farm noises! It always makes me smile to myself when I hear the dogs bark or the rooster crow. Another way these videos make me feel like I'm sitting at the table with you.
Hi Diane. Great video. Your book overview was very interesting . Really like the style of this painting and the composition is very attractive. Thank you
Beautiful! Thank you for the autumn-esk painting. I can not wait for fall and especially my favorite, winter. Just wish it snowed more where I live ( Delaware, usa) like when I was younger. Unfortunately, the weather is changing too much. Have a wonderful day!
Hi Diane! Love these mushrooms! The book Food for Free looks fantastic. I have had the Meeden book stand for 2 or 3 weeks now, and I love it! The mushroom on the left looks so real! Thank you for a fun video! 😊❤
I LOVE mushrooms! I can't wait to paint some of these. I fear we won't be getting Autumn here in Florida for a couple months yet. It is still 100 degrees out. 🥴
We have a high heat warning out today, for a heat index around 106 degrees F. It's been a cool, rainy summer here, so a lot of Minnesotans are reveling in the heat. I'm afraid that I'm not one of them, lol, although I'll be outside at a picnic this afternoon. I'm bringing ice water along! I painted along today, and decided to do our favorite SPRING mushroom, the mighty Morel. So many fun holes to paint! Thanks for your wonderful videos and your insightful opinions!
Hi Laurie and I hope you had a good day in the sunshine - it’s not something to take too lightly as it can be harmful can’t it! Wish we had Morel mushrooms in our garden - only plain old field ones for us! (and I can’t bring myself to eat them either, strange isn’t it!)
Today,I had the opportunity to sketch and paint along with you. The Fall colors are my favorite and watching the leaves change color is always awe inspiring. It was wonderful seeing the mushrooms on your farm and the added bonus of hearing your animals living their best lives! lol 🙂 Blessings
Thanks for showing us books! It sure helps to have pictures of what you want to draw and the books you have are beautiful. I love this fall painting. I started watercoloring in January so this is my first fall for watercolor. I'm so excited to learn to paint leaves, mushrooms, acorns, pinecones and more! Many thanks!
I got so inerested of the book "Food for free" and I found it on line, when I got it,it was a updated special version with non of the beatiful pictures you have, non.Got disapointed, my fault, but remember to find out what year to look for😊
I really enjoyed seeing the inspiration grow into a composition. Mushrooms are so interesting in shape and color. At one residence, I had ones with a long cap that was very dark and textured at the top. Maybe 20 minutes away, my mom had small round disk mushrooms. In the other direction, City Park had plate-sized caps. Across the country in Georgia, my sister's neighbor had a faerie ring. I remember a very odd mushroom in Pennsylvania that was huge, growing on a dead tree branch. Do you think Gabriel misses Remy?
I doubt if he misses him. He’s crowing loudly as I write this, and he is quite happily prancing around outside the studio in the jaws of death (Zen) with no fear. There are thousands of types of mushroom, it’s astonishing !!! I was very impressed with all the types in the Food for Free book which I found in a charity shop. Amazing.
Please tell me the Kuretaki numbers shown on the thumbnail? I love painting mushrooms. Could you provide color substitutions for all of the ones you used from the Kuretaki range? I understand if it is too daunting ❤
Oh. Traurig Aber Immerhin. hatten Huhn und Hahn ein freies Leben wenn ich es richtig sehe. Nur so als kleinen Trost. 😢 Da hilft vielleicht Hühner und Hähne malen über den Verlust hinweg . 🐔 🐓

Hi Diane, I have the Beautiful Botanicals book! Got it 20 years ago with a spiral binding. Love your mushrooms!

I love when you paint mushrooms! So pretty!
I did do Rosalie’s book and loved it. My results were better than I expected. I needed hand holding lol. Beginner here.
I enjoyed this very much. I love mushrooms and will give it a try
LOVE mushrooms! But I am not ready to let go of winter here in Australia yet!

So many great ideas! The leaves in Michigan are just starting to show color. Thank you for the inspiration!
You’re welcome!
Love the Autumn feel of this painting , thanks Diane .

You always add just the right color and highlight to such great effect!
Love this, Diane, thank you! I tried it with the Kuretake graphites on handmade watercolour paper - more muted, but nice granulation:)
Thanks Diane, always love the books and of course all the paintings❤❤❤😊
This looks awesome
Love this upload, thank you ❤
Lovely!

It turned out lovely! I see now why some people like mushrooms! You might have converted me 😂
😁
Lovely autumnal painting Diane, I love the colours of autumn 😁
Great painting! I really like the nature themed ones like this.
Love it!
Thanks!!
I do enjoy your idea of a mushroom journal. The painting is lovely too. I miss hearing the cockerel. So sorry to hear you lost a hen too.

Amazon has these journal books, but they are on back order! But, I'm getting one!
Your whimsical paintings are so fun.
Who knew mushrooms could be so interesting. I love your whole journal! Thank you for sharing your talent and inspiration.
I’m so glad you enjoyed it !!
Just a beautiful little study of mushrooms.
Well done 💐💐💐 24:07
Lovely autumnal painting
Lovely fall colours….my favourite season
Thanks Linda!
Yes, owls will eat snails. But not if they're friends.
LOL!
