Hey Mortske, One effective way to deal with that push rod when installing the fuel pump on a small block Chevy is to put a small dab of petroleum jelly on the innermost end and around the circumference of the end of the shaft and then insert it. The suction created with the use of the petroleum jelly will hold the push rod in place without the hassle that it will slide out and then install the pump. It works really well. ---Mark

Hey Mortzke, Check out NoNonesenseknohow UA-cam channel. He has a C30 tow truck he brought back from the dead. He is learning as he goes with the wrecker. He can help with the towing lift/chain/points.
You've almost got the wrecker hooked up correctly, you still need to hook the chains (upper ends) to each other so they don't fly around and damage anything.
To pull cars or larger out of the snow: for that you have to make a low snow sled where the wheels can fit for any size, you place it under the rear wheels, that works perfectly and you save the tow truck.

I've had the fuel pump pushrod debacle in the past. I rectified the issue by applying a coat of grease to the pushrod then pushing it fully into the block. It prevented it from sliding back out. It worked like a charm.

Water heater, I’ve had myself share of campers throughout the years brother! , outside vents for the refrigerator and it runs on propane or electricity brother!
Easy trick to get that pushrod out of your way. There is a bolt right in line with it. That's got the 4-bolt main 350. The '78 I had with that engine was a real tire-shredder. I bought it off my parents - the AC Delco maintenance-free battery lasted over 10 years. They don't make good daily drivers - you get sick of the up-n-down ride. Since you're over the front tires if they go up and down you do that too.

That camper reminds me of the in-laws rig which I helped sell after their camping days were over. It was a little cleaner tho 😀 The Mortske Minutes are great keep em coming.
I like the driver seat pattern it started right up you could replace the appliances and cushions and bedding and carpeting pretty cheap and easy and have a decent cheap motorhome
Talking about dash cigarette lighters. When I was a kid we had one that when pushed in to activate, would shoot out into the seat with you when ready. Made for interesting driving/front seat fun if you forgot to hold your hand on the lighter waiting for it. Lol, haven't thought about that in many years.
Remove the plate that holds the fuel pump, when the rod drops out put a dab of grease on it and push it back up. It will hold it up, then put everything back together. Makes super easy.

I solved the problem exactly the same way you did, rubber hose and elec. pump. Makes me feel better knowing Im not the only one.
That camper reminds me of the in-laws rig which I helped sell after their camping days were over. It was a little cleaner tho 😀
The Mortske Minutes are great keep em coming.
Will do
I like the driver seat pattern it started right up you could replace the appliances and cushions and bedding and carpeting pretty cheap and easy and have a decent cheap motorhome
I really been liking the knowledge segment of the video where you tell us about the vehicle - motorhomes
Glad you liked it!
Love the motor home history. My favorite would have to be the Buick motor home you had on the channel a while back. 😅
Good choice!
Talking about dash cigarette lighters. When I was a kid we had one that when pushed in to activate, would shoot out into the seat with you when ready. Made for interesting driving/front seat fun if you forgot to hold your hand on the lighter waiting for it. Lol, haven't thought about that in many years.
I really like the Mortske Minute's. Nice addition !
Thanks!
Remove the plate that holds the fuel pump, when the rod drops out put a dab of grease on it and push it back up. It will hold it up, then put everything back together. Makes super easy.
Mr Mortske, now dat ya got's it a runnin', and it's smootd as silk, ya al' can take it to Iola, Wi to save Motel $ and plenty of room for yer parts acquisition and cases of Point Special sandwich's!. Keep the vids comin', I need the laughs.

We raced BMX all around the country in the 1980’s and had a Class C Winnebago cab-over for a good stretch of that. So many miles covered with us kids laying down looking forward in the bed above the cab. Seems dangerous now but we all made it through unscathed. Lots of great memories from those years.
Good times
Think if you get the generator going. You will have a flip. With clean up. Thank you Mortske for sharing!
