- Slight update from my old version. My sister told me we had another tape with that first song in it's entirety, so I went back and put it in, as well as a little promo from 1992. Sorry about the quality of some of these, but I was using my original video for the bulk of this (these came from several different tapes, and it is EXTREMELY time consuming to compile these)
Here's what you get in this video:
1. We're Talking Toon Here
2. Like No Other TV on Earth Song
3. Cartoon Hound Song
4. Cartoon Dance Song
5. As the World Toons
6. Boomerang Promo
7. Super Chunk Promo
8. Super Chunk: The Impossibles
9. Flintstones Promo: Fred Head
10. ID: Paw Rugg
11. ID: George Jetson
12. ID: Super Chicken
13. George of the Jungle Promo: Calls of the Wild
"Don't cry because its over, smile because it happened"
-Dr. Seuss
Honestly what I needed to hear thank you. 💯💯💯💯💯
Cartoon Network was so great back in 90's. Watched it all the time when I was sick and home from school when all other channels only showed junk that would make you even sicker like bad talkshows and soaps. Thank god for cable! I can't believe there were a lot of people that didn't have it back then when most people didn't have even internet!
I used to watch these at an rich uncle's house. He was the only one in our family to have this channel on cable T.V. I spent YEARS trying to find the "good old dog" promo song. Today I found it and I CRIED MY EYEBALLS OUT. My uncle is dead now...but my memories are very much alive, and these will live in me forever
thanks to the people who uploaded this MARVELOUS VIDEO. I thought I would never see it again. Brings a lot of happiness to my aging heart.
You're welcome. Unfortunately, I know there's a longer version of the "Good Old Dog" promo song, but I can't find out.
Oh it brings me way back.😌
If CartoonNetwork went back to the 90's lineup for only a week they would see their ratings skyrocket, damn they need to bring these shows back...
Damn doesn't anyone miss the good old days of the 90's?
I do
Sure I do! Being born in 85 I was a 7 year old kid when I watched all those ads and shows back in 93. I remember living in Santiago,Chile and my brother and I were privileged enough to enjoy those great shows. I used to watch cn all day long when i wasn't at school. God I loved bugs and daffy show, the Flintstones and the Jetsons. There was another great show called late night black and white but I couldn't watch it often cuz it started at about 11 pm and that was too late for me, heh. Great memories
the old good days of Cartoon Network! proud to born in the 90's!
This footage is golden and so much nostalgia inducing for us 90s kids. Thanks for sharing.
take heart friends.
The glory days of kids shows may be gone, but what made them great is still here.
Here, on UA-cam, our fond childhood memories live on. And no-one can take that away from us.
my god i miss the 90"s :(
Wow; those were some of the best. I never thought I would see "we're talkin toons here" again. That was the first promo I ever saw. Perhaps their first. I knew I had to get cable then!
Ooooo, I was looking for that Cartoon Hound clip for a while. Guess I didn't search as good as I could've. I remember that playing all the time on Cartoon Network back in the day.
I know people that consider "Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends", "Samurai Jack" and "Camp Lazlo" as being "old school Cartoon Network". Nah, yo... THIS is REAL "Old School CN"! Late Night Black & White, Toon Heads, Down With Droopy D, Super Chunk, Mr. Spim's Cartoon Theatre... the early run of World Premier Toons... YEAH!!!
Also, I just loved the variety of programming. Old stuff, obscure stuff, and new stuff. Everything from cartoon MVs, shorts, and movie presentations. Looney Tunes to Popeye to Yogi Bear to George of the Jungle to Tom & Jerry to Herculoids, Johnny Quest, Swat Kats and Godzilla, as well as the freshmen like the Powerpuff Girls, Johnny Bravo and Dexter's Lab. Yeah, call me old, but I still feel variety is the spice of life.
I'm just sorry I don't have the long version of that song. This is where my love of Hanna-Barbera cartoons came from. I was born in the early 1980's, so I discovered some of these oldies but goodies for the first time on that channel.
I miss the original boomerang. (Back when it played classic Cartoon Network shows, as well as the classic Warner Brothers/MGM Shorts.) I was born in 2003, so I grew up with these classic show my parents have watched when they were kids.
I woke up today with the #2 song stuck in my head. Thank you for posting this!
I have been looking for these songs forever.
Those music videos are rare AF!
Back when it was worth staying up late Friday Night as a kid

I remember the old days of Cartoons, I do wished they could return to Cartoon Network programmes or at least I do wished some of my favourites are finally released onto Complete DVD collection at last like The Addams Family and Yogi's Treasure Hunt.
"Yogi's Treasure Hunt" is available for download on iTunes.
I miss this when Cartoon Network was Cartoon Network

The CN golden age!!! And it's over!!! Like every golden age fo everything in life!!!
The Super Chunk advertisement always freaked me out o.o
OMG, I remember this. I grew up with Cartoon Network! :( I miss it. I don't even have Boomerang. The new CN is horrible!
thanks for uploading this! i miss the old cartoon network
Cuando cartoon network era un buen canal 👍
Holy crap, I had totally forgotten this even existed till now! Thank you!!!!
Back when Cartoon Network was a magical channel with variety.
I spent years looking for the second promo.
@Quntah888 That's "The Justice Friends" which was a segment on "Dexter's Laboratory." It wasn't it's own show.
I don't remember the songs, but these images have been burned deeply into my brain. I think I just reconnected a few neurons that were hibernating
why would they not bring this back...
For all you fans like myself that liked these shows better I tested the "kids of today should watch old cartoons" thing, (being a nerd lol) I put in a VHS with old 90s cartoon network (and a few nickelodeon) cartoons on it and showed it to some kids I was babysitting and after about 4 shows they asked me "hey what channel is this? they never show stuff like this when we watch tv." I told them it was CN and they didn't believe me -_- shows how different it is now I guess...
@lascalca that was from a Tex Avery cartoon called "The House of Tomorrow."
Im 12 and i love thes shows
thank you so much, it brings so many good memories!! I love these songs. please would you upload some more when you have a little more time. infinite thanks.
if someone can write the script of the songs i would be so thankful as English is not my first language, especially the last one as it is so fast! thanks again
most of these cartoons were mad in the 60's 70;s and 80's
hey thanks for updating !
would you have a Swat Kats commercial on your tapes ?
Memories
Love the Betty Rubble love triangle
my most chariest moment of the 90's was when cartoon networks cartoon theater aired balto, it surpassed lion king as my favorite animated movie and i consider it part of cn's classic gem. batman, animaniacs, road rovers, swat katz, johny quest (the one with the cg world), silver hawks, ed edd eddy, dexters lab, good stuff. proud to have been a 90s kid back when tv and n64 were all worth the long hard days of school. even staying up late was worth it! thanks cn for making my childhood!
how i miss the old cartoon net work they were the best showes ever.
It’s is better than the current one
@penguinrobotme Oh. Sorry. I don't know what that one is, either.
Man! Being a kid back in the 90's kicked ass! I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world! I used to watch Dexter's Lab, Johnny Bravo and the tex avery show. Oh and space ghost coast to coast (pre adult swim!). Those were the days!
There should at least be another Cartoon Network Channel that shows all the Classic Cartoons, because Boomerang isn't the same, besides many TV Shows that are on Cartoon Network are now taking over Boomerang. Another Cartoon Network Channel 24 Hours a day, without Adult Swim coming by.
@NattyKoRn The clip of the balloon cow, right? I think that's from a Droopy cartoon, "Homesteader Droopy" or something like that. Don't quote me on that, though, because I'm not positive.
It is from the Droopy cartoon "Homesteader Droopy" (1954).
4 people really miss their childhood :)
i totally understand
hey man! i can use this video to make a video review Cartoon Network? you have a credits in the description (sorry for the quality of my english, i am mexican and my level is very low,)
Sure, go ahead. Thanks for asking first, I appreciate it.
this makes me sad to know there ain't cartoons like this ay more ;(
Ah, the way Cartoon Network used to be. How I miss it!
@TheJboy88 dude u just made my day and gave me the "omg de javu" shivers!
Cartoon network used to be 24 hours a day of cartoons until 1998
Until 2001.
Ah those were the days
@kaukaznikas I'm not sure which one you mean, considering it switched right at the time code, so it's either Huckleberry Hound or the Jetsons.
Look how different the CN is now compared to how great it was back then. I'm here because of Promo # 2 and 3. #3 is the short version of the "Cartoon Hound" song. If you got the long version or know who does, please let me know where I can find it : )
anyone remember a promo, kind a camp with somes cowboys or somthing , singing a folk song? even i think it was a version of hey hey my my, just remember they said Rock n' Roll twice, but im not to sure
The only thing I can think of that sounds similar was these two "hand people," one was named Haas, but I forgot the name of the other one. They would host this segment called "High Noon Toons" at around noon. I don't know where my tapes are, unfortunately, so I don't know if I have any segments with these characters.
The Sail Cat episode of Cow & Chicken?
wow i remember when cartoonnetwork first came out
@DreamDancer82 except when greedy production companies go on youtube and tell people they can't post videos of INTROS from shows that they still own the rights to that don't even show.. intellectual properties rights for the lose... :(
ahh....memories!
man i miss when it was shows like jonny quest not jonny test
0:30 anybody knows the name of that song? I love it, it's so catchy.
Like no other tv on earth song from Cartoon Network.
already found, is called count me out
= thank you
Does anyone have the promo where the entire cast of CN is at a movie theater?
I wish they could take out all new crap and adult swim and put these back on.
@jigglypoots Aye, m8...TimeWarner has really mucked about & lost direction now.. At bloard meetings I told 'em so..This is most likely why I was laid off in 2005...for tellin' it like it was/is.
Wonder just what they plan to do for their 20th anniversary in 2012? I hope to be VERY busy & VERY far away then...
NOW THEY GOT ALL THIS REALITY SHIT ON IT. :c
I miss the Toonami and Friday Night blocks.
I miss 90s cartoon network... I cant rememb show name 0:09 pls tell me
The show from 0:09 is classic Tex Avery MGM cartoons. That clip is from the Droopy cartoon "Droopy's Good Deed" (1951), one of the best Droopy cartoons ever made, as well as the most heavily censored of all of Tex Avery's cartoons on Cartoon Network, with 3 gags being cut due to racial stereotyping.
You can tell this is the 90s because it assumes that Nine Inch Nails is a relevant and popular band
You can also tell it was the 90's, because I recorded it in 1994.
@MrEddythezombie I hear ya
I don't have any others than the ones here.
you didn't call the hippos, you called the hippies
Ashraf Anam Yeah yeah yeah!
hey does anybody know what the name of the show in 0:46 - 0:48? I have been thinking of that for many years but I cant remember. thx!
Race Bannon fell in love with Betty Rubble? That is romantic, but silly!
@TheJboy88 *applauds* well stated.
Omg super chicken and the impossibles!?! Ive gone deeper d'caprio
Guys I need someone to help me find out something. >.<
So there was this cartoon when I was young about a purple star-shaped character, I know it had white gloves, similar to Mickey Mouse's, and at the end of every episode, it would fly to the sky and touch a shiny star. Please, please, I really need to find out what cartoon that was.I'm 16 I know I was watching this when I was 3 or 4, so please, it's part of my childhood.I'm trying to find the answer for over 10 years. :(
@963510 don't you have to pay for boomerang?
"..'Toons, 24 hours a day, the worlds first ever, cartoon network." That was then, but now its "...'toons 18 hours a day" because they came out with crappy shows like: 'Destroy Build Destroy', and a remake of a japanease show 'Hole in the Wall'. Also, Adult Swim (CN branch) came out with Childrens Hospital...
hahahaha, nine inch nails shout out? awesome
CN in the 90s had the best distribution. In the 90s you could watch classic shows from decades in the past, right along side the new awesome shows they were making (the cartoon cartoons) plus they brought in anime to please that crowd. Cartoons don't have an expiration date, CN should not have banished older shows off the network. We should be able to see the classic gen, the CC gen and the new gen along with imports all at the same time. They waste too much time on the schedule nowadays
Yeah an all cartoon channel what happened to that.
1:35
what that cartoon i never seen that episode
@Dadogo141 I liked the bumpers....they used to be fun xD
4:23 A jealous husband with no neck. XD R.I.P Cartoon Network.
0:43 what that episode of POPEYE?
whats the name of the show in 1:13 plzz =)
SORRY THAT NO, I AM REFERRING TO THE GUY THAT COMES OUT OF THE RING SCREAMING Oooooh
Nice :)
Back then, Cartoon Network was a truly mature and quality channel, with shows both kids and adults can watch. Now its pathetic remnants are leeching off the Canadians and Lucasarts. But George Lucas and Canada have their limits, and soon there will only be two choices for CN: return to the old ways or DIE.
@scouseland1 Sorry, I don't have any more.
@OcoryustheBold yeah what pisses me off is that they should have relized they should have stopped with the live action after OUT OF JIMMIES HEAD ,but did they? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO >:(
Does anyone know where to find the Cartoon Network Opera promo, sung by like a little dog or something?
lol Awesome!
@TheJboy88 the new nick and cartoon net work suck what happened to game shows and cartoons that everyone loved face it the 90s were the best era for nick and cnw
