Tell you what, I learned absolutely nothing about how the symptoms of a bad waste gate would sound or act on the road or when setting off after cold or normal start temp🤦🏾♂️
if you fix wastegate and thermostat and no other codes are up is your engine gonna be ok ? my bmw is at 155557 i need wastegate aquator thermostat n i have a rattle in exhaust pipe is it worth fixing or am i looking at engine problems soon ?
Need ur help I have a 2012 bmw 328i and it’s giving me a p1290 code i have already replace the head temperature sensor with an OEM one did a coolant flush and nothing LMK if you guys can help out thanks in advance
If you did that already then change the turbo actuator, if its not that then its a much more serious issue. If the engine light is yellow its most likely either HTS or the Turbo actuator🤙🏽
Last time I checked that code is for the wastegate actuator. On a normal scan tool it will say it’s coolant temp sensor but for a BMW that code indicates that the wastegate actuator is malfunctioning. I have the same issue right now. It will come and go after parking or driving and the engine warms up. For the most part most shops recommend you replace the whole turbo assembly since that actuator opens the flap at the turbo. When this part starts failing most shops assume it’s because the flap is stuck or having trouble opening (at the turbo) when the wastegate actuator activates. in this case it’s a win or lose scenario since the wastegate actuator is a sensor after all. Like all sensors it can fail while your turbo can be functioning perfectly fine OR it’s actually the turbo causing the wastegate actuator to struggle and trick the computer into thinking it’s the sensor hence why most shops say replace the turbo. For the most part when this part fails the BMW in question usually has 70 to 90k miles so replacing the turbo at this point isn’t a bad idea. Due to the nature of its twin power design these turbos are known not to last long without having issues.
Please i need help, my 2012 BMW 328i, has a vacuum waste gate actuator rod that got broken at the tip that connects to the valve, the car idles up and down erratically and the car dies when I come to a stop, I have been forcing the car to move still, by tapping on the accelerator and gliding, I welded the actuator but did don't have a locking pin, can I still get the pin and it will go back to normal or just change the whole turbo kit? and I hope I've not damaged the engine with my forceful ways?
Thanks for the video. Just curious if this issue or any other issues that you can think of are on my specific vehicle which is a BMW 550 I GT with Xdrive. I currently have 64,000 km on it. The issue that I find is that there isn’t very much available on UA-cam regarding this vehicle and repairs to it. For further clarification I have the N 63TU engine
The video IS titled "symptoms of a bad...." and he did say, in the first few min, that is ANOTHER how to replace video, but obviously you don't pay attention to written nor verbal descriptions. Quit your harpin, this guy is showing you all this for free. Don't like it? Move along.

🤣
Have to be extremely patient to listen to this! More than half the video has nothing to do with the issue or fix.

Bulgarian flag?
Learned nothing romantic this video. I thought he's supposed to show how to remove it or how to fix the rattle. This whole video was just talking
