    Very informative video, Ralph. Thank you for taking your time showing us. Good to know the common mistakes that can be made, as well! I'm amazed how some people can be so negative and go out of their way to insult someone just trying to help their fellow screenwriter. I wish I had that kind of time on my hands. I felt the need to take the time out to post this comment because you have been so kind to teach us the right way to bind a script. Once again, thank you and good luck with your scripts. I will absolutely benefit from this video.

    I’m getting into the hobby of collection the scripts of my favorite movies and I was wanting to print and bind them myself. This was very helpful!

    Thanks for taking the time to make this. Not binding a script but some manuals. I didn't know about the #2 washers. Comes out much nicer with them.

    I'm not a writer but an engineer student
    Who wants to print textbooks that i buy
    When it's not available and/or takes months to arrive.
    It's good to have some reinforced information from you. A good confirmation before i do the binding

    Thanks for the video! I'm in the process of printing a screenplay for the first time and while I read how to do this on various websites, it was definitely helpful to see it in a video.

    Cowboys & Aliens was based on a graphic novel of the same name. According to IMDb none of Mr. Robert's screenplays have been made into feature films yet. He is credited as the writer of one short film and several straight-to-video documentaries (documentary writing is completely different).

    hello!! thank you for this nice video!!! I wanted to ask you about the paper fasteners. How many inches is no 5 equivalent to? Also, is no 5 sufficient for 120 pages? Thanks in advance!!

    • @Bentkz
      @Bentkz 9 років тому +2

      No 5 is 1 1/4 inches. That should be sufficient for up to 130 pages I believe, according to writersstore.com

      They need to pull it out and make copies if it sells or sends out to other producers.

    Thank you Mr. Roberts. Contrary to Capt Kremen's comment, the time and care you took in your instruction shows that you care. My only concern, if I may suggest, is that you did not mention the weight of the paper or that of the card stock.

    I have a friend who was an agent and he's now working with Paul Scheer and Seth Rogan. I asked him about sending my scripts to agencies and he told me to try pitch festivals or management companies. He's pretty busy, so it's difficult to get in touch with him. Do you know why he would suggest that?

    • @erynznpz
      @erynznpz 9 років тому +1

      festivals are very important to your cause. It's filled with agents and distributors that are willing to invest in the next best thing. Pitching your script there will help you get the entry you need into the industry. You could also post your screenplay on inktip.com and hope for the best. I don't know about management companies but you could lawyer up and pitch it to production companies. They'll take a look at it.
      Good luck fellow screenwriter!

    If you're only using 2 brads, why punch 3 wholes?

    • @Rivercoon
      @Rivercoon 8 років тому +3

      Pre-punched 3 hole paper is much easier to find than 2 hole. As studios buy pre-punched paper to print scripts on rather than taking the time to hand punch them this is what they are used to seeing.

    It shouldn't take you 9 minutes to bind a script.

    • @breakfastmachinearchive8
      @breakfastmachinearchive8 9 років тому +40

      +James Jones Considering that binding it incorrectly will probably cause it to be thrown in the trash the moment it arrives at the studio, spending 9 minutes to do it right is pretty reasonable I think. Not to mention, he was also explaining each step in detail.
