Wow Laurie you're a beast! Your legs have gotten so much stronger in just 30 days. I wonder what would happen if you did squats every day for 90 days? Or 120 days? Your legs would be bulging with muscle! Your quads would become massive! Cheers!
Great challenge. I’ve recently added bands to my squat for added definition. I think your experiment would have more teeth if you added a band across your legs above the knees rather than adding free weights. Also wearing a belt during your initial weigh-in to keep the controls parallel.

I mean, to be fair, he almost hit 315 lbs, that’s generally a good number even if you do lift. Take into consideration his legs are kinda small and he got there doing 100 squats a day, that’s pretty solid ngl.
Resistance bands are awesome imo. When adding weight you get a pretty heavy squat using little actual weight. I do think you would have gotten more result if you took some rest days. So maybe 30 times during 60 days. Btw, shout out for Jiu Jitsu (saw the GB gi pants haha)
he could have added additional bends over it. but bends are really at their hardest near the top whereas barbell squats are usually hardest near the bottom.
That's an incredibly over simplified summary to make. Plenty of research suggests training a muscle group every day is suitable for strength and endurance training, but resting up to three days it better for hypertrophy (assuming you're lifting the volume aimed for hypertrophy). Saying you need to rest 3 days if you train legs is a gross simplification and is just bro science.
Great video!! I’m super inspired by your channel - I recently did a ‘5k every day for a month’ challenge and I also did a ‘I went vegan for a week’ video!
Do I don't have a barbell at home. But I can squat deep enough. I can approach using 100 reps of squat in 2 approaches. I can do 20 reps of 5 set squat or do 1-14 ladder reps of squats with 15-30 second breaks.
If u hadn't of done so many warm up reps at lighter weights I reckon u could of lifted more without that muscle fatigue... Legs definitely looked bigger from the front... Great effort
the thing that pisses me off about this kinda video IS. The dude starts off in absolutely great shape and claims to have really small legs. BRUh these before legs are already really great in condition!
after two years of one heavy duty squat session a week 150 was my best. I was doing two or three reps but without a cage. I felt like I really need a cage for safety and that my knees dont like it. 150 is the sweet spot if you weigh around 160 pounds
Probably not enough recovery time, the after picture is taken closer so looks like size improvement but the improvement seems in strength only. Very interesting though 👍
I'm not him but I can personally attest that squats helped my knees. I hadn't squat for over 6 months because of close gyms and the only exercise I could do was bodyweight or running and on my runs my performance was getting worse and worse and my legs were fatiguing faster and my knees had this weakness to it. just 2 weeks ago the gyms reopen and I squatted again (went from 120kg 1rm to 80kg 1rm lol) but almost immediately my legs weren't the limiting factor in my runs and the knees weakness was almost totally gone.
Also, do 30 days of Murph next. also im sorry if no one suggested this before and I'm even more sorry if you actually do it. Cus it's fucking horrible...
I'm gonna do 10 reps of 10 different push ups with a 4kg vest + 50 weighted squats AND an ab workout for 30 days Wish me luck BTW ill have rest day on sunday
Awesome man! Sounds like a great workout, although I'd also add some kind of pulling to that :D Maybe instead of a total rest day you could do 30 minutes of rope jumping, yoga or something else :)
Hello. I have a challenge for you🙂 try to eat for 3 days, maybe Langer only oranges and grapefruits. This is Michael Tombak method of cleansing the body. He is a russian chemist has some interesting books. Good luck Matti I TaTa🙂🙂
15kg is actually a crazy increase from not practicing your one rep max consistently. Fair play

Consistency & Discipline are the 🔑
I am so glad I saw this video, starting this challenge today!
I mean, to be fair, he almost hit 315 lbs, that’s generally a good number even if you do lift. Take into consideration his legs are kinda small and he got there doing 100 squats a day, that’s pretty solid ngl.
great video
Congrats on 50k subs
This mans smile is constant and i love this
Really enjoy your videos, keep up the good work!
Have you tried Brazilian jiu-jitsu? Because a 30 day challenge with that would be tremendous.
have you seen his latest vid! Good call 7 months ago man
Should have measured the legs.Good vid either way.
I liked to see that with this training method you have increased your maximum squat mark 🐱🏍
Amazing timing

Damn you've gotten bigger since 1k! Good on ya
Love the fellow Aussie accent!
Given he ended up loading the bands with additional barbell weight it kind of renders the whole experiment redundant no ?
he could have added additional bends over it. but bends are really at their hardest near the top whereas barbell squats are usually hardest near the bottom.
My friend, if you train legs, need to rest 3 days...Never train every day the same muscle. You gain muscle when you rest, not when you train.
That's an incredibly over simplified summary to make.
Plenty of research suggests training a muscle group every day is suitable for strength and endurance training, but resting up to three days it better for hypertrophy (assuming you're lifting the volume aimed for hypertrophy).

@@subasurf ok train your muscles every day and lemme know how that works for you
@@agame-jv6zvfor me, works perfectly
That would defeat the “30 day challenge”.

1000days plus,
You such a legend you deserve 1m
Trie the one punch man challenge
Why train for endurance thinking it will be beneficial for strength ?
I think u need to try murph for 30 days or one punch man chlenge btw this is one of the best series
Murph sounds better
He has! The murph challange at least
Your treading water video got me here but the other videos got me subbed! Keep it up!
Those are some gains💪💪

Haha play me scoot ! Great video haha
Ay big bro.❤️ Always motivated 😉
no dislikes, it's what you deserve laurie! 🙌🏾
Yes we need more resistance band video
He said "how small" i wish my legs were that big
You should do beard growth transformation
He calls those small legs he should really do a google search and see mine lol
Awesome workman.
Great video Laurie :)
Nice work bro!
The lighting is dimmer and the legs are closer in the second pic, hence making it look bigger.
Explain the 20kg increase in his squat then lol
Good... next Q: how far can you walk on your hands (handstand)?
Do I don't have a barbell at home. But I can squat deep enough. I can approach using 100 reps of squat in 2 approaches. I can do 20 reps of 5 set squat or do 1-14 ladder reps of squats with 15-30 second breaks.
Your eyes and smile 💜
If u hadn't of done so many warm up reps at lighter weights I reckon u could of lifted more without that muscle fatigue... Legs definitely looked bigger from the front... Great effort
I agree! Going for more than 1 rep when trying to find your max rly does affect your performance

Amazing video!! It's insane how your legs strength have grown in 30 days!!
Could yoy tell me what's your weight and height?
Probably not enough recovery time, the after picture is taken closer so looks like size improvement but the improvement seems in strength only. Very interesting though 👍
I don't get why he added the barbell. Why couldn't he just add a second band?
I did 200 squats everyday with resistance band nothing happened 🐻❄️
Nice .... keep it up bro
What do you do for a living
try to do 1000 squats for 30 days as what we did as kids for ice hockey and it also works
superchallenge and progress!
How many kilogram did you used on your resistance band?
Try pistol squats challenge
finally bro
This guy has “punch me in the face” energy..but he seems nice, so I would feel guilty afterwards
Remember me😎😎

Using a pad for squat and you know everything. Cya
It wild and frustrating that he looks the same.
I do the Squat & Crap once per day. Twice if I'm eating Mexican.
Can I ask if it helped at all strengthen your knee joints??

The squat Rock lol.

You should let posh spice be in the videos too.
100 sqauts? nothing gets past my hawk eye.
You should try doing 1,000. I done 1,000 in 40 minutes, think you can do it?
