Sweden to Denmark over the Øresund Bridge by bus

- In this video, we make a journey on a FlixBus coach from the central railway station in the Swedish city of Malmö to the central railway station in the Danish capital Copenhagen over the iconic Øresund Bridge. This is the longest video I have ever recorded.
The Øresund Bridge is a road and rail bridge opened in 2000 and is five miles in length, connecting the Danish capital Copenhagen to the Swedish city of Malmö. The total crossing is around 9.5/10 miles in total which consists of the bridge, the 2.5 mile Drogden Tunnel and the man made island of Peberholm (which was built entirely from the soil and earth dug up during construction of the tunnel). The bridge is truly an amazing piece of engineering and architecture and I recommend it to anybody who hasn't yet been.
Compared to my previous video where we took the train from Triangeln, Malmö to Copenhagen Airport, the bus journey offers far greater views of the bridge, the Øresund strait, Sweden and Denmark as the upper deck of the bridge is dedicated to road traffic while the lower deck is for rail connections.
Thank you all for your nice comments, it was a pleasure making this video (apart from my arms aching). Just to clear something up, I was actually on holiday when I took this video. I am not from Sweden or Denmark but from the UK.
For those of you who haven't yet crossed the Øresund Bridge, I would highly recommend it. The bus journey on FlixBus is significantly cheaper than the train fare and the views are better in my opinion. Hopefully the pandemic will subside soon and we can be comfortable travelling abroad again. Until then, I wish you all good health.
I have been to Denmark 10 times. My first trip was with a Honda Amigo 49 cc. I left Brussels to reach Copenhagen 3 days lather. I was 17 at the time. Never seen the Oresund Bridge. But I have seen Sea Point in RSA and Etosha Pan in Namibia. I have seen the Victoria Falls. Saw my first GP F1 in East London in 1962. Nice to see your video. Perhaps I need to go one last time Denmark and Sweden. I am now 66 years.
I might spent my pension in Nambia. I have lived in Tooting and Wimbledon. Only during a month.
A Brit traveling from Sweden to Denmark by German bus. I like it. :)
The buses seats in Europe are a shit.
Reminds me of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge (and tunnel) in USA.
Thanks, man a beautiful journey (Lækker Tur ) Great video:)
Finally. A video that actually shows what it's like driving through the tunnel! Thank you!
Um, the other videos are vehicles driving through the tunnel. I'm confused by your post.
@Rhafiusk it's germ warfare. China is trying to take over the world. Think about it...it started in China, China didn't need any vaccines (which they made because they had the virus), they didn't get any more than one round....
@Rhafiusk can people please shut the funck up about pandemic shit?
@@morgancalvi6675
Sure if you can shut up about everything.
@@morgancalvi6675 There's was also a virus back in 2002-2004 called SARS, which was also discovered in China.
Top marks for not ruining the video with needless background music. Great video.
What I found remarkable about this excursion is how orderly the traffic flow is. Drivers seem to be very well mannered and cautious.
It had to be a Sunday morning? Maybe?
@@Jim-bh7gs Idk ,.. maybe
@@Jim-bh7gs No i live in Denmark and people do usually drive pretty well in Europe, at least in my neighboring countries.(Though I haven’t been a lot out from Europe so I don’t have much to compare to)
@@Jim-bh7gs No It´s most likely in the middle of the week. Before lunch.
I'm a train and I approve this video!! :D
👏👏👏 Thanks for Journey.
Greetings from Izmir-TURKEY 👋
I enjoyed this very much, the strongest impression I was left with was how spaced out everything is with buildings set back from the roads avoiding that hemmed in feeling so common in British towns and cities.
I wish we had cycle lanes like that in the UK!
Thanks for the upload.
Nice trip. Thank you from the USA.
👏👏👏👏👏
❤️❤️❤️
Awesome video - bridge footage starts from about 24 mins in.
Thank You!!!
Thank you for the video. Sometimes, this is as close as some of us from other parts of the world gets to experience your wonderful country.
Bridge, cloud, endless water. So great, exciting
Kobenhaven aka Copenhagen is a very beautiful city, I love how the streets are lined with these lovely big trees.
In danish: København
P.S. I'm swedish though...
This looks like the coach I road on from Copenhagen to Malmo on my wvisit to Scandinavia in 2019. It was myself, my boyfriend harry and his best friend Dwight, we came from Manchester and took the scenic route We flew from Manchester to Copenhagen, coached to Malmo, took a train to Oslo then a coach to Trondheim where my boyfriend's family live.
All 3 of us love dour trip and I'm sad my original channel is down because it had a video of our trip, Dwight had filmed the entire coach ride from Copenhagen to Malmo. He is good a tfilming long videos like that, he's the only one I know that doesn't move his hands around while holding the camera so the stereo sound was perfect.
Thank you for posting this video because it does bring me back, even though this bus is going the reverse of what myself, Harry and Dwight did.
Love from Manchester.
This video is such a nice memory for me. Was travelling the same route 2 years ago and crossing the bridge was stunning. Thank you!
Thank you. Great video. I can't get over how quiet the roads are.
Nice video! I paint road lines for a living, and I actually painted Pepparholm (the island where the switch from bridge to tunnel happens) in 2016 when it was re-paved.
Hi Staffan,
That's interesting and must have taken some time to do!
Thanks for watching.
is it a good salary?
Denmark is spotlessly clean - no litter or graffiti - how refreshing - oh yes - the bridge and tunnel - what an a amazing piece of engineering. Thanks for posting and greetings from the U.K. 🇬🇧
You mean Sweden no graffity. This BUS starts trip in Sweden, malmo and goes to Denmark. At the entrance to the Copenhagen, lot of graffity on buildings...
Denmark is also absolutely safe at night or at the daytime. I can't say the same for the Sweden. Copenhagen is my favourite place after München.
@@georgegikopoulos5728 Ok, im speaking just about this video and what we can see from it. I belive Denmarka is better country then Sweden in last couple years because of huge influx of immigrants to Sweden, mutch higher then for Denmark.
@@hypatiatv421 bro, Denmark is very different from Sweden. Danish gov are very strict (they have balls) aren't stupid politicians like here in Greece for example. Cities in Denmark are full of life. Are safe. I remember when i was in nyköping (Swedish small city) for 2 year's. I became a victim of gangs. They took my wallet by knife. Polisen did nothing because you are racist if you sue people from other countries. Ahhahahaha... After 2 months someone stole my phone from my car. Again polisen did nothing. Finally i moved in Stockholm was worst than nyköping! Arround of capital there are so many people from middle east, Albania, Kosovo.... They doing nothing just walking around of the city and making troubles...
I have also been in Munich is absolutely amazing and safe police is there for you! Any time any single moment!!
I have never visit Finland and Iceland. I have been also in norway. Is one fantastic place but very expensive!
I agree with you i respect your opinion and i am sorry if i bothered you! 🤝
@Lasse Ferm Haha :) You know damn well Sweden is far far worse then Denmark when it comes to crime. No comparison whatsoever. More shootings in a week then DK in a whole year.
The difference in the road surface between Malmo and Copenhagen was very clear to see. Great video. I did the same journey by train, but the bus journey seems to be the more interesting.
Yeah bus journey seems to be more interesting ooo
It felt as if I was travelling the service myself while seeing on wide screen.
Greetings from New Jersey USA 🇺🇸
Life is good here 💕
It’s nice on the bridge as it feels like you’re at sea.
Beautiful place, new friend from USA, Stay Connected 👍
🌹🌹🌹🌹🧝♀️🧝♀️🇾🇪🇾🇪🕊🕊
It’s a beautiful journey to pass the Øresundsbro, but the price is ridiculous expensive.
This video really takes us there! The character and warm feeling of life in Malmo and Copenhagen. Thank you!
World Record : Going from Brussels to Denmark at the age of 17 with a Honda Amigo 49 cc. Year 1972. 3 days to reach Denmark. Who will beat my record?
quietly and calmly, so nice, thanks a lot
Thank you very much for these beautiful clear images. I felt like I was walking in this city far, far away from us. Thank you.. Greetings from Turkey/İzmir.
I am an Indian and worked as a researcher in Lund University. I used to land in Copenhagen and by ferry and bus, I used to go to Lund via Malmo. The Oresund bridge was not constructed that time. Thank you UK based video maker for giving excellent idea. I will surely try to enjoy the travel in the coming years.
Driven these roads so many times, it feels like being back to my old home again.
Great trip. Thanks. That tunnel is awesome.
@ 0:35 Speaking in English 👍I will be going to Sweden soon for a vacation. big up from America👍👍
Nice the scenic views of the bridge and enrichment constructional techniques are learnable for others.(from bangladesh )
Welcome to Copenhagen …!
Love it. Feel like I just took a fascinating road trip
Cool on line road trip.
Beautiful video....I enjoy it
What a nice journey. I'm amazed by the bridge.
Love how IKEA has its own train stop in the middle of nowhere lol
That stop (Malmö syd Svågertorp, or simply, Svågertorp) was meant to serve as a major hub for travellers coming from Denmark. Just a couple of years after the opening of Svågertorp station the “Citytunneln” was opened allowing trains to pass underneath Malmö in order to reach Malmö central station in the northern part of the city rendering Svågertorp station almost useless
@@EminMulic oh wow. Thanks for the insight. Really interesting.
Thank you for sharing this, driven that route regularly
VERY interesting indeed ! Thank you for this informative video and your personal comments to it .Watching this film makes me feel I am sitting in the bus myself:-)
Nice one, thanks for sharing.
God when will Ghana be like this. Clean and well planned
I believe you're Ghana get there
Never !
My brother ask again ooo. We are more richer than these Europeans yet see us. Come to even Middle East here and you and you'd see that even these Arabs who live in the deserts here better than us. It's so sad for us as Ghanaians.
Do the Ashanties bother about "clean and well planned"?
Sorry Indian subcontinent,& Africa will be must reduce Population,
Then after 200 or more years both can be like European Heavenly countries, of course iam from India
The city look soo amazing, soo beautiful edifice
Nice video & lovely’ scenery while crossing the Oresund heard that Malmo is a beautiful city.
Wow beautiful ❤ watching from Cape Town
Can't get over how ultra light the vehicle traffic is. It must be Sunday afternoon
It's pretty common, depending on the time of day tbh.
We have more people biking in Denmark, than people using cars
No, I went over that bridge by car on Friday 9am in September, it was the same.
Great. Well done. Thanks.
Excellent video. Enjoyed watching.
I really enjoyed this video. I wish more similar videos were made. Brilliant
Very beautiful countries!! 😥😥 i wanted to born there and live.

In the early 2000s, I drove over Lake Pontchartrain ( that was definitely a long one ). Since then, I've driven through the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel several times ( that's thirteen miles ). This bridge between Sweden and Denmark is definitely up there
I drove completely around Eastern Shore MD,USA to avoid the Chesapeake bridge tunnel, AND The bridge from Annapolis. You could say I like my bridges by video. This tour was great.
@@Jim-bh7gs where were you driving from and where were you going? It sounds like you were driving recreationally.
We are going to Denmark in 2 weeks, hope we can cross that Bridge too to Sweden, thanks for shaing this video! Lovelikes!❤️👍😊

Enjoy watching from Thailand
Amazing 😃 Thx from Denmark..
Best video as it provides a view of the sea. 90km/hour that's way too much in a tunnel!
Thank you, Colleen.
The video started at the bus station outside Malmö Main Railway Station.
Tack för en fin resan över bron och tunneln!
Jag bor I Melbourne .
Are there many spiders
Very nice and interesting both Sweden and Denmark are two very interesting and neat countries.
Incredible
Amazing
Awesome bridge

Excellent video
Awesome
Merci pour ce beau voyage
Very good video! 👍👍🚍🚍
Have travelled this particular route a couple of times. Nice to recollect the suburbs on the run out of Malmo.
Thank you for sharing a nice video👍
Beautiful, thanks
Interesting trip. Thanks. If I'd ignore some little details and the bridge which is awesome, it looks so much like in Germany!
Most of the North-West Europe looks like the same;)
Спасибо за знаменитый мост!
Woooowww thanks for the tour,,,,congratulations...
In 97 I was traveled from Sweden 🇸🇪 to Denmark 🇩🇰 from Rosenberg, it was really thugs roads from Copenhagen. The ferry ⛴ was not that big, and the sea 🌊 wave huge
Lol RM Transit was just talking about double-decker buses for long-distance bus routes
Nice video
I am actually monitoring the google map while the bus is running..hehehe
Thx
Как соскучились по этим местам.
Interessant, pour moi que je suis habitué a voyager surtout par les pays du sud de Europe, beaux paysages... et différentes infrastructures routières ... j'apprécie!
you filmed the trip without interruption? so, the travel time is very short indeed!!!!!
A heaven to another heaven
Great video. Thanks for sharing 👍
Thank you for this. I really enjoyed it. I'd dearly love to cross this magnificent bridge one day. Can I ask what time of day you filmed ? The traffic seems VERY light compared to UK motorways. Thanks again for the journey 👏.
I think it was around 11:00.
magnificent bridge, haha.
I'm amazed how people free the streets are, and this was before the pandemic.
Why are people amazed by that as if they didn't remembered 2019?
Just because it was 2019 doesn't mean the streets must be full.
@@automation7295 I guess not, just thought there would be more people around is all. No insult intended.
The Nordic countries have never been crowded. Even the capitals appear empty and quiet compared to other countries. Sweden (as a country) for example has almost the same amount of people as London does.
How interesting to see big brands like Circle k and 7/11 in places like copenhagen...i am assuming the last few minutes were recorded in denmark territory? here i was thinking that these only exist in the states and maybe in canada.
NICE 👍 PLACE TOO SEE.. ITS WHERE MY SUBSCRIBED MAGAZINE IS PRINTED & COMING FROM MONTHLY... VERY CLEAN STREET & ENVIRONMENT WITH THE LONG COMMUTER TRANSIT BUSES...HALAHH
Quite and peace even the road. Unlike here in Asia where chaotic are everywhere
When I visited there, it was before the bridge ,Took a train and it went on a barge across.
Not what I expected, actually looks just like the American midwest
Ne moze da izgleda kao americki srednji zapad jer nemate more a poenta videa je valjda ....MOST
Keep it up for the sake of humanity love kindness prosperity and happiness
Wilkommen beim Flixbus
An excellent video of an hour's ride on a Flixbus Setra Double Deck coach which sounded like it was ending its trip in Berlin,Germany?
Would like to watch one of a similar trip from Amsterdam to Brussels if there are any?
If you were referring to this video, that would be a LONG bridge. No, this one ended in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Morgan Calvi It was clearly stated in the beginning that this particular bus was heading for Berlin, hence the German speaking travelers and the info speak
@@FenceThis at the time, I wasn't aware there was a bridge from Denmark to Germany. 'A Fehmarn Belt Tunnel is decided, between Denmark and Germany, with four lanes (2+2) and double track railway. But according to the agreement between the two countries, as it is, one lane per direction and a single railway track.'...thanks to your reply, I now know there is. But if one doesn't know this, one would likely make the comment I DID...so chill. BUT THE TITLE CLEARLY STATES FROM SWEDEN TO DENMARK...so buzz off. Michael Earith...see what you started?
Morgan Calvi it isn't a matter of a fixed link between Denmark and Germany, which isn't there within a decade or so. It's about you missing out the point that this particular BUS is heading for Berlin, as stated in the beginning of this video if you pay attention to the info speak from the driver/recorded message. Yes, it is in the German language because these travelers mainly hail from German speaking areas, likely afore mentioned Metropol gently straddling the banks of Spree, surrounded by the state of Brandenburg.
@@FenceThis you do realize everything you just said there makes no sense, right?
Dutch number plate on the silver van at 41:20. A long way from home, but then again, I have seen Dutch number plates here in Malta.
You see many of them in Denmark during summer.
In September you could have seen a license plate from Munich, Germany. It was a nice travel.
I wanna go to Skandinavia
So lovely and long trip I go in Sweden by car not by bus but thank you for the video I miss so much my family in Danmark and hope I will come In November we have so much so covid 19 in my country now and cross my fingers that all will be ok soon one more time thank you very much for the video
Parts of the highway look at lot like Florida. I’ve noticed the same about most of the Netherlands.
Heading south
I noticed it had to stop for lights quite a bit in Denmark but not in Sweden. About 44:00 it started to look how I imagine Copenhagen to look (lots of big red brick buildings).
Copenhagen, Denmarks biggest city. Malmö Swedens third largest. Quite the difference in population
@@viikmaqic but actually Malmo seems to be quite high population density. Much higher than most American cities, though not quite as high density as Copenhagen. This shows 10,490 people per square mile. Copenhagen is 12,000 per square mile.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malm%C3%B6
@@tedgemberling2359 The main difference is that the Malmö Central Station is in the outskirts, so you drive through the suburbs to the highway, while the Copenhagen Central Station is right in the city center. So in Malmö there are space for roundabouts and absolutely not in central Copenhagen.
Video is great, nice filming.
Nothing to do with the blogger: the bus is sooooo sloooow! OMG 😁. The city looks completely empty, almost no traffic and the bus is the snail speed🙂
Ah yes, the amount of time Ive been crossing that bridge. Going from Denmark to Denmark via sweden. 😁
