It's a crime that this song is used only one time in the game, starts in a cutscene, carries over into gameplay, ends, doesn't loop, and is never used again.
Also worth mentioning it doesnt start over if you die either. You literally have only one chance in the main game to hear this in its entirety, and i think the same goes for future connected
It's when dunban shows up after the xord fight yeah? I vaugley remember pausing during the fight to help my mom with groceries, only to come back to an obstacle in our path playing
One of the best themes in Xenoblade Chronicles. Yoko Shimomura wrote this amazing piece and it was used in only ONE SCENE in the whole game, with no loop. What a legend.
DUDE!! HOW! Did you get both an open grassy field and a mechanical factory from that! I mean, I understand how. But that's literally the PLOT of the game. So amazing the song was able to communicate that to you
"Sorry to have kept you." - one of the most badass JRPG characters I know of, saving the main characters with one of his arms (his dominant one) being permanently paralyzed before the events of the game.
The theme was used in a scene where a badass warrior came to the rescue of the JRPG party for some "unfinished business" with the giant mecha villain that attacked their village.
definitely can't wait for "You will know our names" now. I also recommend "Mechanical Rhythm". This game has some amazing music. Comparisons to the non-DE versions would be cool too.
Please keep reacting to xenoblade songs the series is so good Couple recommendations You will know our names Mechanical rhythm Engage the enemy Tragic decision Ultimate bringer of chaos Uncontrollable Mor ardain- roaming the wastes I could go on forever but yeah
It really is ironic how the song called _Unfinished Business_ is the only battle song that finishes. When it ends, it just transitions into a regular boss theme.
Yoko Shimomura is godlike in her BGMs. She makes great battle music and great sadge music too. I believe this is the first hype track you hear from her. Look forward to more :P Bet people will ask for alot of her KH OST in the channel
This song is easily from one of, though not the most, iconic scenes fairly early in the game relatively speaking and is considered a fan favorite. In the base game, the song only plays one time, and is never reused, and wasn't reused at all for about a decade until the Definitive Edition release. While many songs in that release were also completely rerecorded to take advantage of improvements in audio technology and capabilities of modern consoles...this song was completely untouched and the fanbase is extremely glad.
Glad you liked it! The only time this track plays in the entire massive game (not counting the addition they put in the definitive edition) is just as our heroes are being overwhelmed by too many powerful enemies, and their two mentor figures arrive just in time to rescue them and join the party. It is an epic and memorable moment made even more so by this glorious piece of music.
More xenoblade yessss!!!!!! I really hope to see more XC songs. I’m surprised this one came before Mechanical Rhythm to be honest. You HAVE to react to that one
I would really like you to react to The Power of Jin from Xenoblade 2 - it's an incredibly well-composed song, and I'd love to see what someone who doesn't know what kind of song it is/when it plays makes of it.
So glad you reacted to this one, it’s such an underrated piece from the game! If you want more songs to react to, I’d recommend You Will Know Our Names, Mechanical Rhythm, and Mechonis Field from Xenoblade 1, and Incoming!, Death Match with Torna, Mor Ardain - Roaming the Wastes, and The Power of Jin from Xenoblade 2. Can’t wait for the next video!
What's also wonderful about the soundtrack of the first Xenoblade Chroncles is the fact that the cutscenes are actually timed to the music. So when the music gets extra epic, the game also gets extra epic in a cutscene. They tried doing it again in XC2, but it's not done quite as well as in XC1 (but still pretty good).
"Those Who Stand Against Our Path" from Xenoblade 2 is one of the coolest tracks you could react to imo. It serves as a theme for super tough optional super bosses. Interesting progression from a frantic alarm-like cacophony early on, to an energetic guitar heavy banger.
Out of all the Xenoblade soundtracks I put that one in my top 20, mainly because to me there seems something just missing from the track to put it into my top 10. Both Engage the Enemy and You will know our names are still my personal top 2 though there are a few others that are close to those two tracks.
This song only plays once in the whole game and it’s the only battle theme that doesn’t loop. Once it plays through it just starts up the regular boss theme, "Obstacle in our Path". It was brought back for one more battle however in the epilogue that was added with the remaster released on the switch.
As far as xenoblade goes I would reccomend Gaur Plains, Mechonis Field, You Will Know Our Names, Uncontrollable, Black Tar (this one will definately catch you off guard), Gormott, Tantal, Mor Ardain, Those who stand against our path, exploration (actually a battle theme) and drifting soul
Also you said my name right! You have no idea how many people on a daily basis read it and say “Jacelyn.” And when I tell them my name is Jaclyn, they’ll spell “Jacklyn,” “Jacqueline,” or even “Jackquelinne.” Aaaaah. Anyway, thank you!
Already see several people mentioning that this Track I only played Once in the original, Twice in the Remaster, but another bit info is this is one of the only Tracks to not be fully Remade for the Remaster.
Mitsuda wrote the Chronocross soundtrack. You're probably remembering him from Times Scar. Unless I'm mistaken, this song is actually written by Yoko Shimomura. I believe Mitsuda, while responsible for much of the music of the xeno games, actually only wrote the main theme for Xenoblade. (EDIT: Actually it was the end theme, thanks for the correction Oneish) I definitely look forward to seeing your reactions to the rest of the xeno soundtracks.
Yoko Shimomura wrote the Main Theme too. The only track he composed for Xenoblade was Beyond the Sky, the ending theme. Edit: Also he was head composer for Xenoblade 2
Well, that's the first I've heard of this. Most of the time I see ACE credited for most of the soundtrack, and shimomura only for a handful of tracks at the beginning of the game?
Yoko Shimomura worked on the original Xenoblade game along with being the main Kingdom Hearts composer and having composed Street Fighter II's soundtrack. I would LOVE if you listened to Forza Finale from Kingdom Hearts III! While the arrangement itself is not by Yoko Shimomura, all the songs it is made from are.
I like this track but it's kind of one thing throughout and just goes into a higher key towards the end. It's epic, but there's much better, more dynamic tracks from the game imo.
Huh I don't remember this one at all. It's a good one though. I'm surprised some of the more repeated tension building and battle themes weren't picked as a hook.
