The only reason he sees hip hop as made for outcasts is because he looks down on black folks in general and anything associated with us is something strange and different. He can’t seem to understand that the very nature of why he got into hip hop is why lots of yt ppl “experiment” date black ppl. And often once they get the rebellious faze and piss off their moms and dads enough they move on from that temporary thing. They see us as something strange and different and when they wanna rebel they run to what we make and create and sometimes to us to make themselves feel different than the rest of “those” white ppl if that makes sense. He wanted to rebel and he can’t just admit hip hop is cool and he wish he could be cool that’s too hard for his ego so now it has to become something for “outcasts” and not a musical genre that has spawned so many others and inspired so many ppl around the world. It can’t have inherent value without him devaluing it in some way. He wanted to be a “rebel”.
I’ll edit this to say he has also said quite a lot of racist things about black folks and you can find lots of questionable quotes from him all over the internet. Like he might appreciate hip hop from a money standpoint but I don’t think he actually likes black folks in general. He’s a tourist selling a certain image of hip hop and black culture to a certain audience who wants to experience something different but palatable for certain ppl of you get my drift.

Great video commentary. I agree with you. I’m mad at Vlad but I’m even angrier at the system that’s set up to make vultures like Vlad so successful. The majority of his viewers are not Black and UA-cam likes to push white content creators more thru the algorithm than Black content creators like yourself. They get a kick out of Black folks destroying each other and our communities. It’s sad. I wish Black artists wouldn’t go on his show but they’re getting paid to be on it so they only care about the check I guess smh I’m sure Vlad gonna find his way back into our business somehow.
