You run the fastest line speed I've seen with these little band Mills I ran a small circle mill for 20 years I am new to the band mill thing . Setting up one now. I can see now with enough power that these little band Mills can produce 800 to maybe 1000 bf an hour so I'm not backing up at all from the old 440 corley pulled with 180 hp diesel I'm guessing you're engine power is maybe 45hp ?? I may have to go with 25hp electric to keep up with your line speed I hope this little mill pans out for me for I don't have much invested in it. Just want to do a little grade sawing with one and two clear faced logs and ties. Thank you for the videos. You have opened my eyes up to the potential of these Mills.
You’re not the only one wondering if these can produce enough lumber. I get that question all the time. Bandmill people mostly give these a bad rep when people watch because they are poorly setup or like most UA-cam saw mills just hobbyists. Nothing wrong with that but most think they have nothing left in the tank. The super 70 is a true lumber producing mill and setup correctly it can truly hit advertising numbers. These are 55hp using roughly 1-1.2 gallons a hour in fuel. ⛽️ Appreciate the feedback.
@@americandream_89 thanks for responding! Your 55hp I may have to go 30 electric I have a cooks Accu-trac (older mill ) it is currently powered by. 15 hp electric not enough ! Feed and set works seem about as fast as the lt70 but the log Turner is slower I may do something about that. It's a strong build little mill with 26 in ground band wheels the speed of your mill is my goal. Thanks for all the info you put on your videos.

@@jott5940 thanks for the info . Drake is using all of his 55hp diesel I just figured I'll will need more I am new to the band saw world. I've ran circle Mills all my life. I will try the 15 hp electric before I change it out.

Truely grateful that you post your videos. As you mentioned most that post are just hobby mills. You show and habe shown the potential of the LT 70 and i have been so happy with mine so far. Now working on the lumber flow to maximize for my operation. Thanks for the belt tip as well. I bought and extra with the new mill and was surprised at WM cost. What do you use for wheel belts?
Glad to hear they help. All the feedback is greatly appreciated. I’m working on some after market ones I’ll have info on also if they pan out. The woodmizer ones are almost too big now days.
Could you do an opinions video on cooks, baker & timberkings biggest portable sawmills vs the lt70? I always come back to liking the lt70 the most mainly cause of the joy stick controls, lubemizer & advance drag back system.

All the belts play a roll. But the drive belt is so important to get good speed. It really needs enough tension so that your motor pulls rpm down before slipping the belt. The super 70 has a 3 band belt on the back of the motor running the blade. Woodmizer would highly benefit from steel wheels 1-3” bigger so the blade was formed more circular.

Hello What is that thing touching the belt wheel al 13:02? It cleans the belt wheel or is it something else? Thank you
You put your finger on it al 13:17 i'm from romania and our 70 does not have that
It’s the tensioning rod that pushes the pulley to tighten your drive belt when you engage the blade. Do you have a LT70 or a LT 70 super?
Lt70

I’ve been pondering the idea of a video dealing with such. You’re spot on with your conclusion.
Hey buddy did you figure out the size for a 17+? I’ve got a 19 super 70 needing a belt soon
what are you cutting for i cut pallet lumber and pallet parts .what is your market?

What you mean with Drive belt. The belt for the engine or for the blade

Any luck finding the link to the non-WM drive belt?

Why you dont you a debarker?
In knotty logs it bounces and cause wavy cuts at the speed I run
If you dont saw so fast for pallet Material, the debarker works good - perfekt for the right max Speed for the sawmill head
@@jott5940 in good logs your correct it works well.
