    I prefer the look of the arosa, i have the 1.4 8v one and i love the size of it, small boot has never been a problem as the seats neatly fold down. The suspension is really soft though so corners are best taken slow

    It's funny because a lot of "boy racers" drive Lupos'. But they are completely customized of course.

      True about the first bit, I brought my lupo when i just turned 17(18 now) 1.7 SDI, Lowered on coilovers and real Lupo GTI Alloys, Put a original GTI Spoiler on, Turbo kit, Lupo 3l bumpers front and rear, GTI Interior, Love the car to bits, Shame they have a such bad name with younger drivers

    I’m 18 and I bought an 05 Arosa as my first car, I cannot fault it! So glad I went for something reliable and unique as opposed to your typical fiat 500 etc. Already done around 7000 miles in less than a year, not bad for my first year of driving😁

    I drive a 1.4 Lupo, it’s my first car and it’s actually pretty rapid. Can see why a lot of boy racers like it. Thankfully, mine isn’t bright green it’s silver. Only problem with that, it attracts loads of bird poo 😅

    Great video. The only thing you missed but then, you were probably driving them new, is that the Arosa seat fabrics aren't quite as good as the Lupo's. That said, if you're feeling adventurous you could actually buy two second hand front seats from a Lupo for about £50 and they will go in perfectly fine. The brackets are identical.
    Good job though :-) Glad you mentioned about the lovely Lupo interior

    • @fishbmw
      @fishbmw 5 років тому

      I have owned both & have to say the Arosa interior is more practice as it has a proper glovebox whereas the Lupo only has a shelf.

    That lupo was scrapped in 2009 when it was 10 years old and had covered just 27,000 miles!!! And she said it was a good quality car!!!

    • @crown674

      It was a press car and probably it wasn't
      driven a lot in the first a few years of its purchase, hence the low mileage and besides probably got totaled in an accident.

    Does no one remember the '99 Lupo getting 78-99 mpg?? In this video she says it gets 45 mpg. I'm American and that pisses me off. What do you Euros think?

    • @InvisibleYetVisible
      @InvisibleYetVisible 11 років тому +2

      the Lupo SDI that is. I have one. I regularly achieve 80MPG ;-)

    • @nicholaspye6765
      @nicholaspye6765 11 років тому +1

      Myan K you are talking about the VW Lupo 1.2 TDI 3L. I had one which I sold to my brother. The fuel-economy is AWESOME and you can use 100% biodiesel with it and still get AMAZING miles to the gallon. 80 MPG with biodiesel is absolutely achievable.

    • @InvisibleYetVisible
      @InvisibleYetVisible 11 років тому +1

      Nicholas, you are wrong. the Lupo 1.2 TDI 3L was the worlds most economical. It is still in the guiness book of world records. It was achieving well over 100MPG. If your Lupo only achieved 80, then you either had a standard TDI or SDI. The TDI's tend to achieve about 70 tops, the SDI achieves about 80 tops and the 3L currently holds the record, travelling across Europe averaging 117MPG.

      Or perhaps his driving style is different from yours. Or he has more city driving. Either way, I'm pretty sure he knows what mileage he got better than you. Also, biodiesel is not as efficient as regular diesel.

    • @Nichen
      @Nichen 11 років тому +1

      justfakeit888 dude thanks for the response. I must say that the consumption was almost identical when I was comparing diesel with biodiesel in my Lupo 3L. I love biodiesel :)

    4 speed gearbox? You are driving it, yet do not know how to count to 5. 4 speeds had long died at vw before these cars.
