You are the best! I’m barley in my second semester of RT school and we are covering pfts and it’s been such a headache just trying to read egans but when I watch you it’s so simple i’ve shared your videos with my classmates and my professor says you are his hero! Thank you!!!
I have been a CRT for 6 years now, and I have decided to finally sit for my TMC exam and your PFT videos are a lifesaver! This is the stuff you forget from school, and your videos are really helping me remember it all. Thanks so much for the time you take!
Thankyou for making PFT’s digestible💛🌻🐝binge watching on anything and everything you have to share. That’s just how my days roll lately….Getting full of all that wisdom. Christ be the Glory &Honor
I'm an RRT-RPFT. ironically, do you know who has larger than predicted lung volumes without air trapping (IME)? I mean, it makes sense if you think about it. Out of the general population, they are exercising their lungs while they do what they do. marijuana smokers/vapers. Obviously, the longer they smoke it, the greater the chances they'll do damage. However, a younger person (20's, 30's, maybe even 40's) may have a normal PFT, with the exception of increased IRV and capacities that include IRV. It is a substantial increase, as well. I'm talking 125-135% greater than predicted in some cases. They take as deep of a breath as they can and then hold it for 10, 20, 30 seconds. They perform lung recruitment maneuvers daily :P (i do not recommend this activity; just an observation)
Sir I hv learnt a lot from your videos & you are please requested to explain the neonatal ventilation, HFOV and HFOV+CMV also. I am working as a Biomedical Engineer.
Thank you for the request, Sunil, but I have very little background in neonatal ventilation. I prefer to stay in my area of expertise, being adult critical and acute care. I will try to get one of neo/pedi experts on the channel to answer your question though. Thank you for watching and commenting.
Hi love your videos, they make so much sense. By the way what happened to the rest of PFT videos? I could only view 1/4, and 2/4, were there any more? I am preparing for my boards and I can’t believe that I found your videos #soblessed, you are truly God sent
A family member says he was told by a local medical professional that when people start having CoVid-19 symptoms at home, they benefit by very early (at home) use of oxygen concentrators. This was suggested as a means of preventing the illness of ever getting bad enough to need to go to the hospital. Any thoughts about this?
Hi. I respectfully withhold any thoughts on COVID-19. Not sure there's been enough to time to properly assess what may or may not help. I will tell you that my knowledge of oxygen does not support prophylactic properties associated with prevention or progression of viral and/or bacterial diseases. For what that's worth. Thank you for asking and watching.
Been an RT For 12 years but just got hired in a pft lab in a doctor's office. Thank u here in 2024
Watching this a week before my board exams thank you so much!
