FINALLY I get to upload my 9k subscribers video featuring my newest OTP Holli and Lina! I have shipped these two for about a year now, and only just now made an independent project with them. This took me a few months, mostly because I worked on it on and off xD But I've had this idea all year and legitimately had to hold myself back from not starting it way back when I first got the idea because I of course had other responsibilities back then xD
A side note: You may have noticed that my watermark has changed with this video. That's because that while I loved having my best friend Olive's handwriting as my watermark (because that made it personal since no one else could would have the exact same font as me) then I've started missing finding an appropriate font for the feeling in my videos and such so I'm going back to choosing whatever font I think suits the video itself x3
Plot:
Holli and her mother Tweed recently arrived to their new home in the outskirts of nothing. Their new neighbors, Lina and her father, noticed their arrival, but only the daughter was curious enough to stay behind and share a look with her new neighbor whom she is attracted to immediately.
Skipping ahead in time (how much time is up to the viewer) where Holli has decided to ask Lina to marry her. On a Saturday morning, she goes to Lina and proposes to her. Lina of course says yes and they are both deliriously happy. But that happy bubble is soon popped when Holli tells Amos Slade that she has proposed to his daughter. He is furious for several reasons: He is old-fashioned and she should have asked him first, Holli is still nothing but a city-slicker in his eyes and Holli is a woman rather than a man so he assumes that means no grandchildren. When Lina realizes that her father is against the marriage, she can't help but clam up and start crying.
While Holli is trying to keep her mouth shut despite Amos Slade screaming in her face, her mother notices the screaming and comes to help her daughter. Unlike Holli, Tweed has no issue with Amos Slade hating her and therefore goes on a tantrum because how dares he talk that way to her daughter and make his own daughter cry! Holli seeks the opportunity to take her heartbroken fiance away. Lina tells Holli that she can't marry her until her father approves, and Holli accepts this, believing they can convince Amos Slade in time, but she also convinces Lina to stay with her and her mother until that time.
In the evening, Amos Slade comes to the Tweed family's house to make Lina come home with him, but both Tweed and Holli refuse to let him talk to her. Lina keeps sleeping through this argument.
Time passes (how much is again up to the viewer) and Lina continues to live under the Tweeds' house, while her father watches her from their house. He sees her being with Holli, flirting with her, drawing her and in general being happier than he has ever seen her be before.
When the fair comes to town, they all end up meeting there by accident. While Tweed immediately tries to make sure that Amos Slade knows he is still in the wrong, Holli is now practically begging on her knees to let her marry Lina. Lina stays quiet while Amos Slade once again says no, albeit more calmly this time around. But Lina is the one who throws a tantrum this time. Shocked would be an understatement for what Amos Slade is feeling while his daughter is yelling at him for the first time in her life. It's actually the first time he's seen her standing up to herself, and while he's not happy that he's the target, he is happy that she's grown some backbone. And he's not so stupid that he doesn't know it's thanks to Holli's influence.
Skip forward to the wedding where Holli and Lina make their vows in front of a priest and their parents. Happy ending!

The little touches you add to your videos. The shadows, Holli smoothing her dress before going to see Lina, the lighting, etc. They all make your work so much more dynamic and incredible. Some of these details are things I didn't even notice my first viewing, but every time I come back, I see something I missed and that's just? Amazing? Your dedication and passion combine into a skill that is unbelievable.
I love the way you edited Holli pulling the ring box in front of her. I love Amos's reaction to seeing the ring and Holli's very calm very cool explanation, and then his explosion. I love Holli glaring at him Widow Tweed swooping in to fight (Widow Tweed is me), allowing Holli and Lina to run off. I adore that Holli is wiling to wait until they convince Amos to give his consent, because it shows how much she loves Lina and the lengths she's willing to go to make their relationship work. I love the adorable tone of the scene as Holli comforts Lina, and how Lina falls asleep in her arms.
I love that you got the door to slam on Amos in time with the music. That's so satisfying to me. The headswapping scenes are incredible and I love how smooth it is when the dove passes Lina's kiss to Holli. Getting that tiny bird to look good for that shot must have been a nightmare. I really like the idea of Lina having a drawing hobby. It adds to her character and the scene looks great. I love that Amos is watching, dubious, from afar. He's not furious now. He's just...skeptical. It's foreshadowing for his change of heart.
I love Holli and Lina fooling around at the fair, and how Widow Tweed IMMEDIATELY launches into Amos because "Don't you dare attack these girls!" I love that despite the shouting match, Holli still asks for permission. I love how proud Holli is when Lina tears into Amos, and Amos' shock and amazement that she would do this. I love his expression as he realizes how much Holli means to Lina and that he's been a fool. I love Holi's sideways smile at Lina, just so happy that Lina has stood up for herself.
I love the wedding scene and how you edited their gowns. I love the veil. I love that it's a private wedding, with just Amos and Widow Tweed watching at night. I love how happy the girls are that they made it this far and that they are actually getting married. That Amos changed his mind and they are all together as a family.
I love everything about this video. It's gorgeous. It's sweet and it's perfect.
diseasedwits And I want to add that I sent this video to two of my friends that recently had issues after coming out to their families and being forced to breakup. This very video is one of the biggest reasons they fought to stay together and while their families are slow to accept them, I just keep resending this vid to them and it gives them so much strength to fight for their love. They very much remind me of Hollina and they agree. This video may have been a project to you but to some of your fans, This was a sign and a step to embracing their true selves and fighting for love. The flawless editing makes it so much more beiliveable and cannon and it really tells the story so well. Thank you for the countless headaches that editing surely gave you. You have made a masterpiece that effects a number of lives for the better. Be proud of your work no matter your doubts or hate comments. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Ahh!!! I love it! I love that Lina stood up for herself and Holli to her dad which made her dad realize how important this is for her. I love that Holli's mom always defended and help them so they know they are not alone and accepted. Also the fact that Holli is fine with waiting for Lina because as much she loves her, she wants her to be perfectly happy and comfortable with the life they will share together one day and they did! ^^

YAY ITS FINALLY UP! SO CUTE!! I like to think that between when Holli first moved there and when she proposed that they officially met at the club and Lina was dating Gaston at that time (from your girls like girls mep part). Both had a eye for each other but Holli saw that Lina was with someone (Lina being too shy to say much to Holli other than hellos and small talk, which was frustrating to Holli bc she really likes Lina but Lina always runs off blushing) so kept a bit of distance (also Holli being new in town and trying to get settled in) until she saw how much a jerk Gaston was to her and swooped in to show Lina how much she really likes her. Which than leads not to dating right away (but Gaston was already out of the picture) but really good friends and Lina would drop by more often and Holli would show her the cool new dancing moves that is popular in the city. (your Dancing maidens mep)
and then Under the mistletoe mep part is after they are married.

This is so gorgeous. The story is adorable and the editing is phenomenal. I love Lina in the alternate outfits. I can't fathom how long these manips must have taken, but the end result is gorgeous! I adored their parents' interactions, and how the Widow Tweed stood up for Holli and Lina. The wedding was so beautiful. I love the way their dresses looked, and that veil!
